Rating: Summary: Brooding Kilmer, hard DeNiro, crazo Pacino; need more? Review: Great shoot-em-up with real character development. Hurts to root for the bad guys shooting cops, though. The ending will suprise you.
Rating: Summary: The best actors on earth combine in an action epic. Review: What can I say, my heros, DE NIRO & PACINO in some kind of twisted, social and corrupt plot. As with all my reviews (BUY A DIGITAL AMP!) to insure the serious sound which had my next door friends angry! (The bank heist.) If you love a good story (damn good) then buy this baby, it's three hours long and so kewl, you'll smile like a pornographic lottery winner. The acting, The dialect, The plot, THE ACTORS! All I can end on is the bank heist which was goverened by the SAS. You don't mess with these guys, and the action scene shows why.........why you ponderin'? BUY IT LIKE I DID FROM AMAZOM.COM!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Best Action Film of the Decade Review: "Heat" is the kind of action packed masterpiece one hopes to encounter more often than they occur, but when one comes along, it remains in our minds forever. I just rented this DVD, and the widescreen transfer (aspect ratio: 2.35:1) is nothing short of mindblowing. I give credit where it deserves to go: Robert Deniro, Al Pacino, Val Kilmer and Tom Sizemore for acting, Dante Spinotti for his great cinematography, and finally Michael Mann, for writing, producing and directing this great picture. "Heat" will remain timeless.
Rating: Summary: Action-packed, with great character development. Review: I agree with the majority of reviewers. This is a first-class, intense film with generally excellent portrayals (one exception is Pacino's over-the-top acting, mentioned by another writer). One interested fact: After watching this, I went home and watched several episodes of the old tv show "Crime Story". Many of the scenes from 'Heat' were lifted straight out of the tv show, (including the scene where Pacino catches his wife with another man, then leaves with his tv set; even the dialogue is the same). Nonetheless, well worth owning, suitable for mutliple viewings, and will give your 5.1 surround a real workout!
Rating: Summary: Great Movie!!!!! Review: This movie is great. The video is crisp and the audio, well I only have Prologic so.... I must admit, if for no other reason, I bought this movie because Ashley Judd is in it. I just think she is gorgeous. The movie was full of action, although it does have a few slow spots that are tolerable. I like Robert De Niro more than Al Pacino and Val Kilmer is cool. My only complaint about the movie, NOT ENOUGH ASHLEY.
Rating: Summary: I can go in peace now.... Review: Pacino. Deniro. On screen. TOGETHER, sharing screen time. What more could anyone possibly ask for?
Rating: Summary: Great Movie! Review: Without a doubt, Heat is one of the best films of the decade, and I consider myself a movie snob. Godard and Fassbinder are more my taste, but I can't deny that Heat is a great movie.
Rating: Summary: One of the best cops & robbers movie ever! Review: This is one cool flick! De Niro, Pacino, Kilmer, who could ask for a more astounding cast? The opening sequence and the bank heist will knock your socks off if you have a Dolby Digital 5.1 sound system. The MANN who created Miami Vice gives us more from his brilliant mind. Buy it ASAP!!!
Rating: Summary: A riveting ride by the seat of your pants! Review: I had the pleasure to see Heat at least 7 or 8 times at one of the biggest theatres in Los Angeles, The Village. What blew me away was the sound and I'm not talking about the level. Sound as most in the industry know is probably the most difficult facets of any production. I brought at least a few of my friends with me and they all agreed the sound was awesome. You could feel the gun battles not to mention the intensity of a jet blast. This wasn't the only thing I liked about Heat it's just what stood out. Michael Mann has that look of authenticity to his work that is always well researched and real life. He's taken Heat one step further and on a bigger scale than his classic film 'Thief'. The shootout scene is as close to perfection as any director can achieve. As advertised in the one sheets, "A LA Crime Story!"
Rating: Summary: Its Heat...what else can you say? Review: One of the best and greatest action films around. I cant WAIT for the DVD tommrow. I've owned the VHS version since the day it was released and have watched it so many times, I'm surprised it still plays. Heres to one of my very favorites.
