Summary: Good action with boring plot.
Review: I may be in a minority, but I really didn't like this film. The plot was boring, however the film had great action that was wasted. The cast had promise and didn't do that bad, the movie was plainly a flat out stinker. I thought the action scenes were wonderful, and that is what the two stars are for; but the acting just didn't impress me that much. The villain wasn't evil enough and was very weak, and we have already seen the "partner that turns bad act." I took all the good police movies and turned it into something cheesy and mediocre. Unless you are a fan of the cast, do not see this movie, rent another action film like the Rundown instead.

Summary: S.W.A.T - Simply Waste'a Time
Review: I remember there was a movie once, in which the psychopath told the hero; "the only way you'll know what happened to your wife is if you experience it yourself." Said wife was buried alive, which metaphorically refers to what should be done to SWAT - buried deep into the hole from which it came from, mind you. And yes, to ultimately discover how bad S.W.A.T is, you do have to see it for yourself.

Imagine the following. Ron Jeremy and Danny DeVito holding hands. Running towards you. In slow motion. Covered in syrup. Naked. Yes, that's simply how terrible this movie is. Vomit inducing garbage. ... And where it isn't painful, it is annoying. A circular stairway into the pits of hell.

The plot is virtually non-existent. It seems this is one or two S.W.A.T episodes glued together with paperglue - some parts ripped off, some parts glued on top of each other - like a kindergarten students' artistic work. In a way it is like an abstract piece of art one cannot come to understand. Ever.

The characters are utterly miserable and clichéd. There is the "by-the-numbers" captain, the hardened veteran, the roguish rebel, the tough cop female partner, the shape shifting turncoat and the sacrificial family guy. Deja Vu, anyone? Probably so, you will have seen these characters before. I am disappointed. Samuel L. Jackson's talents are truly wasted in this junk-food-like spoof. A complete waste of time, and hour and a half I cannot take back. An hour and a half during which I could have sat and done nothing, which would have been better than watching S.W.A.T, quite frankly. Avoid at all costs.

Summary: Average action movie, really good
Review: "S.W.A.T." is what it is; a pure actionier, with little in the way of character and motivation. Samuel L. Jackson is assigned to create a new S.W.A.T. team for the L.A.P.D. First to be recruited is Colin Farrel, who used to be S.W.A.T., but was demoted after a failed operation. The rest are young, fit, highly motivated police officers (including LL Cool J and Michelle Rodrigez) and trained to be the best of the elite team. After training ends, their first mission is to transport rich French terrorist (Oliver martinez) who declairs he will pay $100,000,000 for anyone who will release him. Needless to say this draws all the crooks in L.A. out of the wood work to help. Like I said, it's just a adrinilin rush for two hours, but there has been worst. Ferral and Jackson have a wonderful repore that keeps things interseting, and the action is absolutly riviting.

Summary: Great Action Movie!
Review: The movie, I felt, was amazing. Good plot, great characters, and well done special effects. The only thing that tarnished the movie was some lines the characters were saying was just cheesy (but that was only in about 3 different parts). Still it didn't lose any stars from me because the movie was too good and therefore 3 bad lines does not even compare to the whole movie. 5 Stars All The Way!!

Summary: Mediocre story with high action ending.
Review: Collin Farrel and Samuel L Jackson are about the only thing that is interesting until the last 25 minutes of this uneven film. Continuity problems abound and it is hard to suspend one belive in reality to be able to accept much of what you will see. Special effects are actually OK, about 3 stars. The main problem was that we kept finding ourselves checking the DVD status to see how long it was until the end of the movie.

Finally with about 30 minutes left, it started to get real interesting.

The movie became interesting enough to almost ignor its worst contnuity problem of all. The SWAT guys in two cars THAT are Ttraveling almost bumper to bumper and then suddenly they are so far apart, that the helocopter can't even tell the lead car where the second car is. I just let out an AAH for its stupidy.

There is no nudity, no simulated sex and no grotesque spurting blood. There is moderate swearing including the F word. I can't recommend this movie to any one except huge Farrel fans, if he has any yet. Except for a couple of vulgarities, it is ALMOST family friendly. This movie had some potential, but lost it way.

Summary: Better Than Expected
Review: An arrested drug kingpin is transported by a Los Angeles Police Department SWAT team led by Jackson's character out of the city and into federal custody. Plans go awry when the kingpin offers $100 million to anyone who can free him.
This was a fun and excellent take on the '70s TV series where a wily SWAT sergeant returns to assemble, train, and lead a group of five officers who have to escort a notorious international criminal. Director Clark Johnson who has worked as a director ("NYPD Blue")or actor ("Homicide") on a TV police drama doesn't go over the top and lets the movie remain faithful to original source. The cast here is great with Jackson as "Hondo" and Farrell as Street and Olivier Martinez brings a weasel-like charm to his character. Even Steve Forrest, who portrayed Hondo on the TV series has a small role here which is nice to see.

Summary: Every American stereotype in bold relief.
Review: You have seen this movie before. No really. You have. Maybe in different movies, but you have seen it. Every cheesy stereotype that typically is part of the Hollywood film experience is here and you will groan in recognition. The rebellious protagonist, the tough single mom, the insufferable, paper pushing boss, the team of people that no one believes in who prove themselves in the end, the evil foreigner and oh, the weak link in the group who betrays them. The only stereotype missing is the Jewish best friend. Even the dialogues are full of what the script writer thought were smart one liners. The action scenes are slick and the movie moves along at a fair clip, but you've seen it all before, and better rendered so why bother watching this?

Summary: Good action movie
Review: I havent seen a very good action packed movie since 48 hours. This one was full of it. If you like army-swat team movies then rent it. The plot is easy and there are a bunch of guns.

Summary: O.K. Movie
Review: this was a good movie, but if you really want to see it- rent it, don't buy it. it was just one of those movies that was just...there. it didn't go anywhere, it just sort of ended and was done.it's worth watching once, but to buy it??...probably not.

Summary: BORING MOVIE
Review: THE ONLY REASON I WATCHED THIS FILM S BECAUSE OF THE TV COMMERCIAL. I WANTED TO SEE HOW MANY PEOPLE WOULD BE WILLING TO RISK THEIR LIVES IN THIS" ACTION PACKED" MOVIE ABOUT A BILLION HEIR WHO WANTS OUT OF JAIL. WHAT SOMEONE OFFERS YOU $ 100 MILLION DOLLARS AND YOU GIVE UP TRYING TO RESCUE HIM FOR THAT AMOUNT OF MONEY. ONLY TWO COPS WERE REPORTED KILLED DUE TO THE BAD GUY'S OFFER. NO ONE ESLE AROUND WHOLE WORLD WANTS THAT MUCH MONEY? THE NEWS REPORT MADE YOU THINK THAT THE BAD GUYS WERE GONNA CAUSE TO MUCH TROUBLE FOR THE COPS, NOT.

THEY TOOK SO LONG IN THE BEGINNING OF THE FILM,, MUCH ABOUT NOTHING, EVEN COLLIN FERREL'S SWAT TRAINING SESSIONS WITH HIS TEAMMATES WAS BORING, TOO MUCH TALKING AND NOT ENOUGH ACTION.
THE FLOW OF THE MOVIE WAS JUST NOT THERE. EVEN THE BANK ROBBERY AT THE BEGINNING OF THE FILM WAS NOT EXCITING. NAP TIME.
