Rating: Summary: Take Time Out... Review: I had seen the previews for the thriller Out Of Time, and thought that, it was going to be the same old wrong man accused plot--with just a few wrinkles thrown in. It was only after hearing "raves" about the film, from a family member, I decided to give it a shot as a rental.Matt Lee Whitlock (Denzel Washington), the police chief of a small Florida town "borrows" money from the evidence room, so that he can run away with Ann (Sanna Lathan) his mistress. Even though his marriage to his wife Alex (Eva Mendez) is in trouble and he's always been in love with "the other woman", Alex quickly betrays him. She soon reveals that she only began having an affair with him as a way to seek revenge. Now, with his reputation and career on the line, an otherwise good cop must resolve his problems and clear his name, before it's too late. Washington gets back to playing basically the good guy here, and as usual, he gives a strong perfomance, no matter what the material. He is the reason the plot is made to work. Director Carl Franklin puts his best foot forward, trying to throw a new spin on some of the old conventions, that are part of the story. The rest of the cast is solid and make for an ecclectic ensemble. The main problem here, really is some of the plot stucture. Yet, it works for what it is... The DVD has a very good audio commentary track from Franklin. He is well spoken and he keeps things interesting and engaging. The 11 minute "Out of Time: Crime Scene" featurette is nothing more than your usual Electronic Press Kit type stuff. The 2 video based outtakes are snipets of deleted material, that as is usually the case, doesn't add much. More interesting to see, are the screen tests for Sanaa Lathan and Dean Cain, especially for Cain, who plays agianst type in the film. The theatrical trailer, filmography profiles, and a motion photo gallery, top off the extras on the disc. Out Of Time makes for good viewing. The DVD also has a not be missed audio commentary for you to enjoy as well.
Rating: Summary: not bad Review: I didn't expect to like this film as much as I did. The creators did an excellent job in building suspense and providing surprise. Danzel Washington's performance is strong and believable. Don't miss this one.
Rating: Summary: One more time...... Review: Okay hear what I am saying. It was incredibly predictable, each part! BUT, it was nice to see how it played out. I mean seriously Denzel is a great actor, and Sanaa as a bad girl! That was great to watch! I mean seriously he was torn, then Sanaa was torn, and then Eva was torn! Tell me love isn't durable? And what about his friend? That's a friend for life "cause he was by his side for it all!
Forget all those reviews blowing it like predictable, and it didn't live up to it's hype! It's featuring Denzel, and Sanaa be supportive.
Rating: Summary: I loved it!!!! Review: This movie was great!!!!! I prefer intrigue instead of just blowing things up inexplicably. This movie kept me on the edge of my seat!!! Most movies today spend so little time setting up the plot and the characters....something explodes during the opening credits and they're off. This movie was just like a great roller coaster.....starts off slow and lets you get at good look at the amusement park then WHAM!!!! Lots of dips, turns and surprises. If you've watched every movie ever made, I'm sure you can find something old/cliche' in this movie. I've watched a lot of movies and found this to be one of the best!!! I'm glad I have it on DVD as part of my personal collection. And even though the element of surprise is gone, I suspect I'll still enjoy watching it again because of the great cast/scenery. This wasn't the case with "The 6th Sense".
Rating: Summary: Marginal plot Review: Just ok.... certainly not one of Washington's better ones. Eva Mendes needs diction lessons, mumbles a lot of her lines. The plot is a stretch. All in all.... ho hum...
Rating: Summary: I Love it Review: I love the movie , it is not the best but it's worth seeing it.
Rating: Summary: BE THANKFUL THAT DENZEL WAS THE STAR OF THIS MOVIE Review: A POLICE CHIEF [DENZEL WASHINGTON] IS SECRETLY SEEING A WOMAN [SANAA LATHAN]. WHEN SHE IS MURDERED, HE FINDS THAT HE IS ONE OF THE PRIME SUSPECTS. THIS MOVIE BENEFITS FROM THE LIKABLE PERFORMANCE FROM DENZEL WASHINGTON. THIS MOVIE'S BIGGEST PROBLEM IS THAT IT MOVES TOO SLOW. BUT THE SHOCKING ENDING DEFINITELY HELPS THE MOVIE OUT IN A BIG WAY. IT'S AT LEAST WORTH A RENTAL.
Rating: Summary: I liked it! Review: Hey, I am not analyze the movie like some stuck up film critic, I am just an average Joe. The movie had suspense and was a good thriller.Maybe the acting was sub-par for Washington but the movie will leave you guessing and on the edge of your seat. So if you want to watch a good movie here it is.
Rating: Summary: A good thriller Review: Not the greatest thriller in the world, not as good as THE BONE COLLECTOR, but good nonetheless, with some interesting plot twists. See it for the three main actors, especially Dean Cain who gives a very good performance as Chris, Ann's husband.
Rating: Summary: Out Of Time Is One Of The Greatest Movies Ever !!! Review: It amazes me on what movies some people love, and some movies people hate. When I first read a few reviews that were posted it shocked me, since most weren't that great. We'll I'm not to sure what movie they were watching because if they were watching the same "Out Of Time" movie I was watching then they weren't really watching it. This movie from start to finish keeps you guessing and guessing. Since watching Bad Boys II, I was thinking there wasn't going to be a better movie released last year and this year, well this movie came pretty close. This movie had everything a movie should have in it. Acting, direction, action, drama, and everything else. Very few movies I've seen in the last few years come close to this movie. Do not miss out on this movie. This is one movie that will have you stack in your seat waiting to see what's going to happen next. MC
