Rating: Summary: LOTS OF FUN--GOOD BUT NOT GREAT Review: This atmospheric and (at times) stylish film is lots of fun and offers up some genuinely creepy and disturbing moments. It's not the caliber of Polanski's The Tenant, but it is highly entertaining and, for the most part, well done. The only downside is the ending--it simply doesn't live up to the rest of the movie. Had the ending been better (and this movie deserves a far better ending), The 4th Floor would be an absolute knockout. As is, it's good--not great, but worth owning if you love creepy, frightening thrillers.
Rating: Summary: Crazy Making Drama Review: This movie based in New York filmed mostly in Canada surrounds Juliette Lewis characters inolvement with elder TV Weatherman played by William Hurt. The story sounds familiar, Older Guy, Young Girl, Older guy says please move in with me to my Westchester N.Y. home,Younger girl: No I want to live in Manhattan and be on my own for now. As Lewis moves into her 5th Floor Greenwich Village Apartment she is greeted with a much to nosy but friendly landlord, a surly superintendent, a deaf couple and a mysterious never seen woman on the 4th floor who never goes out and complains unreasonably about the noise Lewis is making. She pounds on her ceiling while Lewis moves the furniture around. The complaints become threatening through notes left on her door and terrible things begin to happen. The movies upside is that it's relatable to anybody who's ever been stuck living in an apartment with weird and annoying neighbors. If this isn't you then you can still sympathize with Lewis as she is well acted as a likeable 20 something victim in Americas biggest city. This drama borders the fine line of thriller and horror flick remaining a psychological rollercoaster. There are many times you'll say "Just Move!" Some parts of this movie are pleasant as you see residential Manhattan through Lewis' eyes as she peeks out the window. Some parts leave you on the edge of your seat. Without blowing it's possible surprise ending for you the movie goes from what could be a possible beleivable conclusion to something as covincing as the sci fi channel. Even the final scene which is there to make us think does just that. It catches us between the message it intends and it's implausibility in which you can't help say... No way! That isn't possible!
Rating: Summary: Put on your seat belts and get ready for a thrill ride! Review: This movie was a 90 minute foot cramp. The inane plot, which attempts to appear both complicated and esoteric through use of classical references ends up being a complete and utterly predictable mess. None of the characters are given any life by either the script or the actors. The guiltiest of the lot is Juliette Lewis. Barely able to keep up with other actors as a co-star (see Natural Born Killers) she simply fails as a leading lady. The only enjoyment you may get from this film is of the "so bad it's good variety". But, even as far as unintentional humor goes, this film isn't all that inspiring. The movie, and Ms. Lewis in paticular, grate at the senses and insult the intelligence. Strongest recommendation to avoid. One day, mayhaps I'll stop being diplomatic and tell you how I really feel, but until then treat this film like a mugger with ebola and run far far away.

Rating: Summary: Great Movie!! Juliette is better than ever! Review: This was a Great thriller if you dont sit there and nit pick at it. Jane Emelin (Juliette Lewis)is a very likeable character, as most of Juliette's portrayals are to me. The movie was very suspensful its anything but dull. It leaves you with a lot of questions if you dont pay attention to details, even the smallest. If you do you will see it all comes together at the end.I also like seeing Shelly Duvall again as a nosy neighbor named Martha Stewart("Not the famous one though.")Theres some really gripping and comical scenes in this film, some of the best I have seen. Just see it.
