Summary: Intelligent and chilling
Review: A hugely effective addition to the JFK conspiracy theme. The power of this film lies in its flat, matter of fact, low budget, day-in-the life style. The actors are particularly effective at "not acting", playing ordinary people caught up in what may (or may not) be an extraordinary conspiracy. The use of the documentary style imposes terrific discipline on the filmmaker and his audience. There are no behind the scenes explanations or subplots. The director deliberately avoids speculating on what goes on behind closed doors in the sanctuaries of people in power. Viewers must ultimately draw their own conclusions, which is the very device that makes this movie so intelligent. At the same time, the plainness of the locales, the dialogue, and the characters allows us to identify with them on an emotional level. All in all, a very powerful combination.

Summary: Gripping tale, definitely worth watching!!!
Review: Any film dealing with the JFK assassination is bound to be interesting and "Interview with the Assassin" is a truly engaging film. Writer/Director Neil Burger keeps you guessing with a well written. Raymond J. Barry does a fantastic job as the assassin.
If you like "The Usual Suspects", and "The Sixth Sense; then watch this film.

Review: Honestly, I think I'm still a bit confused after seeing this movie. Reading the "Extras" helped a bit but I'm still not sure what to think of it.
Almost forty years after the John F. Kennedy assassination, an ex-Marine named Walter Ohlinger comes forward with a startling claim. He was the shooter on the grassy knoll. I'm really into conspiracy theories but this one seemed a bit kooky and hard to believe. The acting by the ex-marine was superb! It's not a movie I'd rush out to rent again, but I'm glad I did see it.

Summary: Interview With the Assassin
Review: I'm shocked by the generally glowing reviews this movie received here. From my perspective this movie is generally disinformation which only confuses people and continues the coverup. For more accurate movies/documentaries and even audio tapes about the JFK assassination are available. Jim Garrison, the District Attorney of New Orleans, who prosecuted Clay Shaw for taking part in the assassination of JFK, made a documentary and has in invaluable book, if it can be found, "On The Trail of the Assassins: My Investigation and Prosecution of the Murder of President Kennedy". Garrison also gave a lecture, which I found on tape on the internet, titled "The Rise of the Fourth Reich". For those who have seen Oliver Stone's "JFK" and recall the character "X" please read "JFK: The CIA, Vietnam and the Plot to Assassinate John F. Kennedy" by L. Fletcher Prouty. Prouty was the real life "X" who knows what went down. Do a web search on Prouty and you'll find much more information about the JFK assassination. Look up John Judge and COPA on the internet. Judge has given some very detailed lectures, on video and audio tape, which explain many of the details of the assassination and who Judge believes was involved. One video, "The Hidden History of the United States", by Judge, is quite helpful about understanding why JFK was assassinated.

Review: If you have a serious interest in the JFK assassination then DO NOT buy this movie. If you're someone who loved Oliver Stone's "JFK" movie and has seen it 20X then DO NOT BUY THIS MOVIE. The producer is using the JFK assassination premise to lure you in and aside from the scenes in Dealy Plaza the movie goes nowhere. This is the most BORING film that I've ever seen associated with JFK's murder. I wouldn't have thought that could be possible. The movie doesn't even shed any fictitous light on the case and it's very unrealistic. Go rent or buy Executive Action for a clever, fictional depiction of what might have happened in Dallas forty years ago. I'll repeat, DO NOT get sucked in by the JFK assassination premise. If you do, like I did, you'll be disappointed two hours later. What a waste of $22.

Summary: implausible and flawed, but interesting nonetheless
Review: it's implausible that the second gunman (if there was one) would have been allowed to live. 'they' would have killed him just as they killed oswald. it would've been too dangerous to do otherwise. what happened in this film proves the point. so a so-called story of the assassin really is pure fiction, even if there was a conspiracy to kill jfk. the film itself is also a little flawed. even after the marine co died (or was killed), there was still the would-be assassin's shooting buddy who could have corroborated the claims. he didn't have to attempt to kill the pres to prove his point. still, an interesting film. worth a rental, at least.

Review: Judging by the reviews, it would seem many people have fiction and historical reality confused. This is a work of historical fiction. The best fiction is based on real events. Walter Ohlinger is just a character and this movie, though filmed to look like it's a documentary, is really just a story written and directed by Neil Burger. Burger was in Texas interviewing WW II vets when he met a man in a bar who claimed that he knew people involved in the Kennedy assassination. They conversed briefly and then the man left. Neil never saw him again; but this eerie conversation served as the backdrop for this story. Walter Ohlinger (Raymond Barry), an ex-marine forced recon sniper, comes forward nearly forty years after JFK's assassination to claim that he was the Grassy Knoll assassin. He's dying of cancer and is tired of hiding. He enlists his neighbor Ron Kobeleski (Dylan Haggerty), a cameraman for KXBC News to film his confession. When Ron asks Walter for proof, he produces the shell casing for the single shot he fired from the knoll. Ron asks the lab tech to find out what year the bullet was fired and the tech comes back with a plus or minus five-year answer. This was the only problem I saw in the film. The lab can't tell exactly when a bullet was fired even within a five-year range. Ammunition can be traced according to lot number and the date of manufacture can be found but that doesn't mean that bullet was fired within that five-year timeframe. The technique of making this film look like a documentary was a smashing success adding realism to the story that would not have otherwise been there had they filmed it like a regular movie with music and canned sound effects. If you're a Kennedy buff, see the film!
