Summary: A Great Thriller!
Review: This was a great thriller but is not as good as most folks give it credit for. It really has no plot. The kid sees dead people and Bruce Willis is supposed to help him and he does by telling the kid to ask the ghosts what they want. The plot is weak to me. But I did like this movie for its creativity and intelligence. The cold, the red were neat clues. I loved the Rules and Clues bonus on the tape. It really adds a lot to the overall understanding of the movie. If you liked this movie, rent Stir of Echoes an equally effective thriller based on a novel from Twilight Zone writer Richard Matheson. This is a more of a horror picture but has an innate morality tale in its story. What makes The Sixth Sense so appealing, ultimatley, is its mood, atmosphere, aura and the acting of both Willis and Osment. That all makes up for lack of a great story - well almost!

Summary: 5 stars for movie, but only 1 for the DVD
Review: The movie is great, but the DVD is annoying. There are 8 1/2 minutes of trailers that you're not allowed to skip or fast forward. How lame is that? At least on a VHS tape you can fast forward.

Summary: "6th Sense" Big Failure
Review: After not seeing the movie in at the box office I decided I would go out and check it out on video, to my suprise the movie was qite dull.. It wasnt scary, and there was no real climax, it ends you off in a very bad spot, and never really developes much of a plot. To me a scary movie is something along the lines of, The Blair Witch Project, which acctualy doesnt have a bad ending, and doesnt lead up to anything.. It got 2 stars because the acting was good.. but the movie was a disapointment and I will recomend to anybody, that its not as good as the previews sound.

Summary: The dvd is better!
Review: Wow! The first time I saw this movie I thought it was a great thriller-neverless for being PG-13. If you have not seen this movie, you should get it definately. If you have, you should also. For the people who have seen the movie and are still murmuring over the dramatic ending, a dvd special feature provides Rules and Clues. This dvd is packed with an enourmous aray of special features. One of them includes long deleted scenes with the director explaining why it did not make the movie. Another includes the director's first home-made movie when he was eleven years old! I definately suggest adding this to your collection; it is a must have! If you do not care for thrillers, there is also great depth by the acting. I think Bruce Willis and the prodigy,Haley Joel Osment was great! When I watched the movie again I still got chills. Bravo, M. Night Shymalan!

Summary: One of the best...ever
Review: There is a reason that this movie is the top box office seller in its genre of all time. I had to see it twice just to make sure of what I saw the first time. The ending proved to be a complete surprise with no real clue as to how it would end. The entire cast was excellent and it proved to be a real leap for Bruce Willis. That this film and the cast, particularly Osmont and Willis, were ignored by the Academy Awards was a tragedy. This is a film that exceeded all expectations and should be a "must have" addition to any movie buff's collection.

Summary: WARNING - Forced to watch the Long Previews Every Time
Review: As others have said here, the movie is very good. The fact that you are forced to watch the LONG previews each time really dampens my excitement of an otherwise excellent DVD. Not only do the previews start immediately upon hitting "Play", you AREN'T ALLOWED TO MENU OUT OF THEM. The ability to directly access the Movie is one of the primary reasons I prefer DVD to VHS. I paid my money for the DVD, so I should be able to decide if I want to watch the previews each time I watch the movie. The fact that the DVD manufacturer purposely rigged this DVD to prevent escape from the previews makes it even more of an insult. If this type of thing becomes the norm for DVDs, I think it will kill the format. If Sixth Sense weren't so good, I'd return it because of the previews. From now on, I will check Amazon reviewer comments before buying any DVD to see if this "feature" is enabled or not.

Summary: Excellent movie, a little poor on the packaging
Review: If you haven't seen the film yet, Bruce Willis DOES NOT compromise it. I thought he would, but he does a wonderful job, as do all actors involved. Yes there is a neat little (understatement) secret that reveals itself in the end, but if you're perceptive, you might catch on early in the film. As for the packaging of the DVD version, it has all the standard extras like cast interviews/bios, deleted scenes, etc. That's always nice and we come to expect that. But what knocks off that 5th star for me is the fact that YOU HAVE TO WATCH MANDATORY PREVIEWS WHEN YOU INITIALLY PLAY THE DISC! I have a simple, low-end DVD player and can't get around the previews unless I use "Program Play" and go directly into the movie or fast forward through the previews. It won't let you push the "Menu" button or even stop the playback while these previews are going! If you have a nicer player, you may be able to "Chapter Skip" over them, but the point is: you shouldn't have to skip over the previews and if I have to fast forward over them, I might as well be watching the movie on my VCR! I hope film distributors ARE NOT going to continue to pursue this type of marketing. If I want to watch previews (which I usually do, just not EVERY TIME I WATCH THE FILM) I'll select them from the menu.

Summary: Totally blew my mind
Review: This was a totally awesome movie. All of my friends said that it was good, but I just figured...yeah, yeah. Well, I just happened to see it for sale when I picked up a new TV, so I grabbed it. I'm very glad that I did. Except for the previews at the beginning of the disc instead of an option in the DVD menu, this DVD rocked. I never saw the end coming. When it happened I was just struck dumb with amazement. If you buy any DVD this year at all, make sure it is The Sixth Sense. You will not regret it!

Summary: Sixth Sense "Collector's Edition"
Review: Soon after starting my Collection Edition Series release of "The Sixth Sense", I knew that I was in trouble. Unlike every other collector's edition in which I've invested, this one begins with ten minutes worth of previews for unrelated movies. That's right, you'd think that you'd just played the rental-cassette version! By previews, I don't mean a collection of the theater previews for The Sixth Sense, I mean commercials for other movies in theaters now, including Mission to Mars! What a valued treasure that Now-In-Theaters promo will be when I screen "The Sixth Sense" at the end of the decade. The DVD jacket describes its Special Features as including: Storyboard to Film Comparison, The Cast, Music and Sound Design, Reaching the Audience, Rules and Clues, Deleted Scenes, A Conversation with M. Night Shyamalan, Publicity, Filmmakers' and Cast Bios, French Lanuage Track. Buena Vista forgot to mention "... and ten minutes of commercials at the front end, during which we lock your remote". Collection builders may want to note the obvious test marketing going on here - to see if we'll accept rental-style commercial preludes on special "collector" edition DVD's. Caveat Emptor!

Summary: Damn previews!
Review: Okay, this is a fantastic movie and I can't say enough good things about the quality of the film. My only negative comments have to do with this DVD release and it's a major one.

I popped the DVD in and waited through the requisite FBI and copyright warnings. Then preview after preview drolled on and I couldn't access the menu during this whole commercial marketing onslaught! Of course you can just hit the next button, but COME ON! This is BS!
