Summary: Not bad,not great, but not bad;Harrelson leaves Cheers behind
Review: 20 years from now there will be movies that we'll want to watch and then there will be the other 99 percent. I think that this movie, at least for Elizabeth Shue and Woody Harrelson will go down as one of they're more entertaining films.
I've always wondered what Woody thinks of this movie? If anybody knows write a review and stick it in there.
And thanks to Cinemax for giving this movie the kind of play it deserves.

Summary: Sure to be a "Cult Classic"

Summary: IT COULDN'T BE BETTER !
Review: And no one could play it better then Woody Harrelson
The plot is very good. It's simply a cult movie though underrated. Also, Eliszabeth Shue was soooo hot. It'll be a great loss, if you miss this flick!

Summary: Shue Fetish!
Review: As sexy and slinky as she was in Leaving Las Vegas, Elizabeth Shue absolutely shines in Palmetto. It's the kind of stuff that film noir fans wait years for. Good direction and great performances make this one a hot little movie for these long cold nights.

Summary: Not bad,not great, but not bad;Harrelson leaves Cheers behind
Review: For those who thought that Woody Harrelson could only play a dense barman on Cheers, they're in for a shock. The guy can halfway act. Harrelson has plenty of trouble(s) with three women in this movie. There's a lot of intrigue, suggestive sex, and other standard fare in this movie. The women are ok, though they are more suggestive than revealing, especially Shue; who, if she ever decides to get "revealing" in a movie has a pretty decent body for it, as well as Gershon, who has, and the other one, Sevigny (I think I'm spelling her name right). Not bad, not great, but not bad. Worth a look.

Summary: Takes me to another time and place
Review: I just love this movie! I've read that they tried to make this movie seem like it was filmed in an imaginary 50's town. And that is probably my favorite thing about it. The mix of old and new. Woody Harrelsons hip but old style of clothing the desolate locations. I live in Florida, but I don't live in this Florida. I know it's just a movie but it's the kind of life and situation that every man would like to be in, at least every once in a while.

Summary: Absolutely brilliant. How about a Special Edition?
Review: I own this masterful thriller and absolutely covet it. Probably my all time favorite thriller/film noir. A perfect example of steamy, teasing, dark femme fatale film noir classic. Excellent script, direction and acting. Some people who say the film is "too over-the-top" are missing the point and don't realize it's that way on purpose. That's the whole film noir/femme fatale genre, folks. Roll with it. Get caught up in the fake kidnapping scheme and the surprise twists and it's a roller coaster ride! I love it and will always love it. One question: WHEN is the Special Edition gonna come out, with Director's and Actors' Commentary, Behind-The-Scenes (I BEG YOU) and many other features? A film this great deserves a Special Edition DVD. People at Castle Rock: PLEASE issue another DVD version.

Summary: Underrated film-noir with good actors and quite good story.
Review: I think this movie is quite underrated. It's not that bad. I have only seen one of Schlöndorff's other movies, The Ogre, which is very differnt from this one. The actors are good, especially Gina Gershon, Woody Harrelson, Elisabeth Shue and the fantastic Chloë Sevigny, and the story is quite good with some unexpected turns. The movie is, in some outdoor-scenes, also very beautiful, with the clouds, beach and sea at night. Harry (Harrelson) narrates the movie, like in many film-noirs, but the voice-overs are so few that when they come, it's a bit annoying.
