Summary: An intelligent thriller.
Review: Michael Douglas true to type cast and obviously enjoying the part, turns an average night table thriller into a memorable movie with a dash of steel. Sean Penn plays the degenerate brother, with all his charasmatic subtlety. A movie for intelligent adults who have little patience for mediocrity. DVD compliments the excellent photography, outstanding score and unique settings.

Summary: Excellent Movie!!!!!!
Review: Micheal Douglas gives a powerfull performance as a rich but lonely investment banker pushed to his physical and mental limits. This movie keeps you guessing and on the edge of yourseat untill the very end. The last 5 minutes of the movie is one of the most intense situations I have ever seen captured on film. If the movie has a small downside, it is some of the unrealistic parts, but other than I highly recomend this movie!!!

Summary: A great film about redemtion and a second chance.
Review: The Game is Michael Douglas at his best. His performance is even better than the infamous Gordon Gecko of Wallstreet. The DVD is top notch. The video transfer is excellent and the 5.1 audio is crystal clear. Add French audio and Spanish subtitles and your all set. A great addition to your collection.

Summary: A film that teaches a moral but with anticlimatic climax
Review: David Fincher is a great director. His film The Game was truly suspenseful and it pulled no stops for surprises. Fincher has been known for surprise endings in two other films he has directed. If you'll remember the package sent to Morgan Freeman in the middle of nowhere in Seven or maybe Ripley's suicide in Alien 3. I was expecting something surprising in The Game but nothing so anticlimatic. It's nice that the film's ending teaches a good moral but it really cheats the audience. If you'll remember Paul Verhoeven's erotic thriller Basic Instinct. That was a film that seemed to have a coherent plot with a nice touch of mystery. But instead of having anything discovered all the audience finds out is that the film is an excuse to see Sharon Stone nude and doing it especially when we see the film's very final scene before the credits. Hopefully Fincher's next film will have a more reasonable ending.

Summary: excellent!
Review: Michael Dougles is, once again, cast in the role he was ment to play. The calcultaing, coolly efficent bad-guy. He is absolutly wonderful in this movie!!!

Summary: SEE NO EVIL, HEAR NO EVIL
Review: One of the finest filmmakers of our time has treated us with another fine delicacy of Hollywood filmmaking. David Fincher's finely tuned visuals, mixed with Howard Shore's intoxicating and disturbing original score, coupled with Michael Douglas' well played role, makes for one excellent escape. Without giving too much a way, "the Game" is a spin off of "A Christmas Carol" Watch it, analyze it, love it. A good movie, will simply entertain you. A great movie will entertain you, as well as it will leave you with something, emotionally. This is a great movie.

Summary: Cruel
Review: I agree with the viewer from San Diego. This film is very cruel and demonstrates the makers' deep contempt for humanity. I hope making this movie was cathartic for the director, writer et al because I'd hate to think of them walking around with such a perspective.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: It's not engaging, it's manipulative.
Review: Michael did his usual great acting and Sean was good. BUT, I stopped this movie(at the congratulatory party scene)before it reached the very end, because I think I figued out the ending. If the ending's what I think it is, it is very, very cruel. If it's not what I think it is, then it's ok. This movie is not suspenseful, it stimulates your curiosity, then manipulates you. It has too many cheap tricks and continuity problems, like the wine stain in the restaurant. Michael and Sean's talent saved the film, but I did not like being toyed with.

Summary: DAVID FINCHER DOES IT AGAIN!!!
Review: David Fincher to put it simply is the MAN!!! He amazed me with SEVEN and did it agian with this movie. I loved seven so I went to see The Game in the theaters and was blown away. Fincher is my favorite director he makes ORIGINAL movies with great twists and turns. You have to see both SEVEN & THE GAME as soon as you can!!
