Summary: ** Frequency - Not The Best **
Review: Frequency, a movie that many anticipated... After seeing the movie, I was discouraged. I was very, VERY upset with the acting. However, before I go into detail, let me tell you what the film is about...
A young man (James Caviezel) discovers that his ham radio set can reach 30-years into the past. He is now able to communicate with his father (Dennis Quaid), a firefighter who died in an accident. It's hard to convince his father but he starts to believe. Now, his father 30-years ago doesn't know the future where is son is. But the son knows the past, his fathers past. And his father died... The son knows how his dad died, could he forewarn his father before he goes into the fire that killed him last?
Now, the movie synopsis sounds suspencful, but it really isn't. In the beginning, the acting was really poor. I mean, Quaid's son fell down on his bike, not bad at all. And his mother comes out, running. I thought that was lame.
In the movie, they all had accents. But, the people that had them, lost them in some parts of the movie. It was funny. Anyway, the movie was O.K despite the bad acting. It's a movie you should see, to say you've seen it. However, go see another movie if possible.

Summary: "Well calculated to keep you in Suspense"
Review: I have to say in my opinion Frequency is one of the best films of the year so far. Going into it, I already knew the premise, this guy from the present contacts his father in the past via a ham radio and as a result changes time. What I didn't realize was the extent of film genres that would be incorporated. Frequency begins as a dramatic, sci/fi but quickly changes gears to a full crime thriller with a number of action sequences. It also at some point takes on the aspect of fantasy but I'm not sure exactly where. This cross section of film types was an exceptional as well as an unexpected treat. Dennis Quaid and James Caviezel worked well opposite each other though hardly on the screen together. This is due not only to the excellent acting by both but the cinematography and editing as well. The strength of a bond between a father and his son was touchingly conveyed in a fascinating manner throughout the film. Though a fantasy/sci/fi/thriller etc., it was strong on family sentiment. There is much here which reminded me of Twilight Zones, current Outer Limits, and the old radio program Suspense. I highly recommend this film and when available it will grace our DVD shelf. Frequency was "well calculated to keep you in Suspense."

Summary: Frequency got a little of everything for everybody!
Review: To me, Frequency is a story about second chances, I don't know about you but there are quite a few things in my life I'd like a second chance at, and this movie shows about a father and a son who was presented with that choice, and they took it, even though there are consequences because of their actions, and what result is a story book ending that makes you feel good. Dennis Quaid gives the best performance, a loving father, a fighter and one that rises to the occasion. James Caviezel was equally brilliant as he were in The Thin Red Line, a cop who has nothing going for him, but was able to restore the father-son relationship that he never had before. Frequency touches on the subject of time travel and a little of parallel universe, these are definitely confusing topics and one we have not completely figure out, but I thought the movie did a good job covering its tail, to me I felt it was very logical. Without going into too much details, I'll cite the example of the last scene in which Frank and John are both battling the nightingale killer Jack at the same time. Basically that has to happen in order for Frank to come in and save John, because Frank "remembers" that night and knows exactly when to come to the rescue. Logically, Jack had to kill Frank because of vengence, his life is ruined by Frank; and on the same night Jack had to kill John because they just confronted each other in the bar, and it seems that John knows a little bit too much about his past. I love Frequency, its got action, suspense, comedy and a heart warming look into the relationship between a father and a son. The movie is also very smart, along with a very interesting premise/idea, I'm sure everybody can find something to like about this movie. Trust me, run and don't walk to see Frequency, and I'll definitely be getting on DVD :P

Review: all i say wow what a rush, i'm still processing stuff. it's a must must see if you like sixth sense or any thriller you'll love this one. go------ to the movie, i highly recommend! actually i hope this one wins an oscar for screen play or something.

Summary: Brilliant!!!
Review: Definitely one of the greatest movies of the year!A man in 1999 uses his old shortwave radio, and finds out that he is communicating with his father in 1969- his father who died! The man then remembers when his father died in a fire- and tries to figure out a way to save his life.. Along this plan, many other things of the past are changed- and not always for the better! The father and son must figure out a way to alter the past, and bring the all the family members to safety! With a mixture of action and drama, this has to be one of the greatest plots ever conceived! The whole family will love this 2 hour + movie, which is filled with suspense, a bit of fear, and good old moments to cheer! Take everyone to see this today! (Although not the little ones- too much swearing) A+++ show!

Summary: A geniune idea well executed
Review: 'Frequency' is about a father and son who are able to talk to each other over a thirty year riff in time through an old radio. The cause of this is some vague dealings with sunspots and aurora borealis, which doesn't really get explained. The father was to be killed on the date after he communicates with his son in the future, and the son tells him which ends up stopping it. From there, a series of events messing with the timestream take place. The idea is great, but I was curious how they would handle it. Besides the usual father-and-son relationship character buildup sequences, the movie has a nicely crafted story. Because the father doesn't die in the fire, it causes a change in time in which his mother gets murdered by a serial killer. Together they utilize their collective efforts to try to keep the events they changed from happening. It sounds confusing, and it is, but for the most part this is an enjoyable movie. There are a lot of suspenseful scenes between both time periods, and despite a lot of jumping around between eras you still have a good grasp on what is going on. Of course with movie concerning time travel or time riffs, there are always a few plot flaws. There are a couple in this film as well, but they don't ruin the general enjoyability of the movie. Although some of the special effects look fake, and some of the camera work is too shaky, most of the technical aspects are good. With just a few flaws, 'Frequency' is a mostly edifying movie.

Summary: Time Paradox Guaranteed to Please thinking People
Review: Frequency is a great thinking man's Back to the Future. It will definitely keep your mind on its toes as a son in 1999 talks to his father in 1969 via shortwave radio. Great concept, and a rare case of a great concept with a good execution. Dennis Quaid plays the fireman in 1969 during the World Series (remember the Amazing Mets?). His son talking to him from 1999 convinces him he is who he is by predicting all the plays made in the ballgames. This sets up a series of problems in their personal historys that they both must work to solve. Brilliantly written story and very consistent (in time travel concepts like this you see many inconsistencies, but not here). 1969 is recreated to the tee with cars, hippies, radios, and music from that year. One question: what time was more advanced? 1969 when man was on the moon, the Beatles were here, and mind expansion seemed to have no bounds, or 1999 when creativity seems to have died?

Review: All the other reviews will explain the plot etc, what I will say is that It is one of my favorite movies along with my wife's. It leaves you smiling at the end , One other thing in an Interview Dennis Quaid said New Line dropped the ball because they did not promote it well enough...........I could not agree more.

Summary: "Frequency" is emotional and very well-made!
Review: "Frequency", to me, is like two stories in one...the first story is set in 1969 and it describes Frank Sullivan (an outstanding Dennis Quaid), a working-class NY fireman living in Queens with a loving wife (Elizabeth Mitchell) and his son John. The second story is set in 1999, 30 years later. It describes John Sullivan (Jim Caviezel), all grown up and is a police officer, not a firefighter like his father. Basically, John could not get over the fact that Frank, his father, had died in a building fire. John's best friend Gordo (Noah Emmerich) comes across a ham radio inside John's house. The ham radio used to belong to Frank a long time ago, so Gordo urges John to give it a try. And soon enough, the radio works under the different frequencies of the Northern Lights, or Aurora Borealis. John could not believe it when he is talking to his father, who's been dead for 30 years. As the film goes on, there is a string of murders that are the work of a serial killer. And John in 1999 and Frank in 1969 must team up to prevent these killings from happening again from the results of 30 years ago. Gregory Hoblit ("Primal Fear", "Fallen") directed this film with perfection all the way! "Frequency" is so entertaining and so thrilling that it will have you asking the question: "What if you could go back in time and change the event that altered your life forever?" This is Dennis Quaid's best performance since "The Big Easy" and "Flesh and Bone". And this is Jim Caviezel's breakout performance in which he did an excellent job. And the DVD version of "Frequency" just couldn't be better, with deleted scenes and more! "Frequency" is truly one of the best sci-fi drama-type films ever made.

Review: How best to describe "Frequency," one of the most pleasing and interesting films I've seen in a long time? To start with, it gives a fresh and fascinating approach to time travel. It stars Dennis Quaid and lesser-known James Caviezel as father and son. To sum up the story, some sort of phenomena allows father and son to communicate through time over an old CB radio. The film is simultaneaously heart-warming and fascinating. It's part murder-mystery suspense that will keep you guessing 'til the end on a thrilling roller-coaster ride, and it's also part science fiction that will leave you pondering circumstance and chance & make you wonder how the small decisions you make in life ultimately effect the timeline, and it's also a good old-fashioned story of family and love and baseball that will make you feel like the American Dream is a real thing and not just an ideal of the past. "Frequency" is simply a wonderful film that is sure to please all types of viewers. It is emotionally satisfying, with a nail-biting and intelligently written plot, and enough action to please mainstream audiences. With that said, go watch the movie. I don't want to give any more away. It's a wonderful, brilliant movie, and the DVD itself is fabulous.
