Summary: LADY IN WHITE
Review: This is a great old-fashion ghost story. It's also a great "WHO-DONE-IT".You don't find out who's behind it till you're more than hal-way through the movie. It also has funny parts that make you laugh-out-loud without ruining the scariness of the movie.I would recommend this movie to anyone old or young. You'll especially love it if you were young during the 50's & 60's.It's fantastic HALLOWEEN MOVIE that seems to be overlooked.

Summary: Lady In White - weird but wonderful
Review: This is quite simply a great film. Its really weird in parts, strange old ladies wandering in the woods at the dead of night, a ghost in the cloakroom etc, but its full of suspense, you're left wondering the whole film, what is actually going on, and it's got a great setting too.
Never going to be a massive hit, but a film I would love to own, one of those rare gems you're glad you found.

Summary: Forty years past its view-by date
Review: This movie feels like a throw-back to those Hollywood greats of the post-War years, offering a bloated cocktail of comedy, spooky dry-ice-enhanced sets, tacky special effects and overweening sentimentality, all bolstered by a hack orchestral sound-track. Unfortunately, the world (especially the world of movie make-believe) has moved on a long way since the 40s and 50s and whilst this particular effort would have been firmly amongst the best had it been made back then, nowadays its attempts at scariness merely come across as laughable, whilst its moments of comic relief are too slapstick, or else too hackneyed to be in the slightest bit amusing.

Lukas Haas, as the 9-year-old incarnation of the story's narrator, is the only person who gives anything approaching an interesting performance, although even his perpetual wide-eyed innocence and winning smile start to grate after a while. Mostly, though, the film is let down by its entirely nonsensical story-line, as well as the total predictability of all of its attempted mystery threads. And with altogether too many story threads for its own good, many of which get abandoned without development (or else simply get in the way) "Lady in White" comes across as a terrible jumble of ideas, presented in an overly long and poor executed package. The blue-screen effects, in particular, are very weak, with some extremely ragged rotoscope work. The overall result is that it is altogether too difficult ever to suspend disbelief at any point within this film, which is a great shame.

This DVD version offers little by way of extras to mitigate against the movie's own inherent weaknesses. There are no subtitles, no alternative languages. It does offer a small collection of deleted scenes, but there is (with but one exception) nothing of substance amongst these, with most merely giving alternative, slightly longer dialogue to scenes which remain within the finished (director's) cut. There is a commentary track by director/producer Frank Laloggia, but to be honest, I could not bear to watch the film a second time to find out whether he has anything interesting to say in it.

So, if you're a committed fan of the great Hollywood movies of the 40s and 50s, this DVD may provide something of a chance to reminisce about the way they used to do things back then. Mostly, though, I think that all this release does is answer very firmly the question, if any should wish to utter it, why "they don't make movies like this any more." Rent a copy, if you must, but I don't recommend you waste any money buying it.

Summary: terrific film
Review: this movie is a gentle ghost story, yet its surprisingly strong in character development. It has strong family values, wonderful location work and a real feel for spooky as opposed to gory.

Simply beautiful from start to finish.

Summary: One of My Favorite Movies!
Review: This movie is truely a masterpiece. In this chiller from director Frank LaLoggia, a young boy named Frankie is locked in a cloak-room closet Halloween night by two mischevious boys. While inside, Frankie sees the ghost of a little girl, re-living her murder; when the little girls' attacker returns to the cloak-room that very night, he almost kills Frankie. However, now the whole town is wondering: who did it? As Frankie explores the mystery, he finds a creepy connection to the Lady In White, a ghost who roams the cliffs at night. This film is beautiful, nostalgic, and highly entertaining. A visual masterpiece! One of the things that makes this film so good, is the fact that the ok-effects, brilliant acting, surreal surroundings, and great story-line all blend together to create a truely marvelous movie. It's one of those rare films that toy around with the viewers feelings and emotions to make the viewer laugh one moment and scream the next. Though the murder's identity may be easy to guess, this film never loses it's audiences attention. An ingenious work of art, this movie must be viewed with an understanding of the surreal filming to appreciate it. Also, don't expect it to be *perfect*. If I've made it sound like it is, well lower your expectations. As with most movies, this film is lacking in some areas. But hey, I'm not complaining. Definately worth the money!

Summary: A wonderfully told ghost story.
Review: This movie will reaffirm your faith that you don't need to show someone being gutted by a killer in some stupid hockey mask. This is a well done film that uses some incredible build up to put a fright in you. One of the better, non-gore, ghost stories that I've seen. If you like the juvenile humor of the Friday the 13th movies then this isn't for you. Definitely worth owning as you don't see these kind of gems that often.

Summary: Nostalgic apple pie and horror
Review: Though lacking in critical special effects for the finale, this film is an impressive work from a no-name director and low-budget studio. This can mainly be credited to an exquisite script. Bound to stir the hearts of American families everywhere, Lady in White leaves the viewer awash in warm, fuzzy feelings, associated with Mom's apple pie and memories of youth in the baby boomer generation. The surprising twist of a family thriller is refreshing in today's disney-flick-or-blood-and-gore-no-middle-of-the-road atmosphere. Though somewhat crammed into two hours, this movie has it all: social drama, humor, nostalgia, and, yes, absolute fright.

Summary: Tonysoprano's movie review
Review: Well to sum it up the movie could have been better. I think the script was well written by Frank LaLoggia, but poorly acted out by the actors. And of course I higher budget for the film wouldn't have hurt either. Poor special affects took away from some of the chilly and scary moments in the film. With better actors playing Luke Haas's brother and his, plus a slightly bigger budget the film would have been much better. The scarest scene in the film is when Haas is with the killer alone out in the woods(the killer is a close friend of the family)and the killer starts to figure out that Haas knows he commiteted the murders.

Summary: A must for viewing for Halloween
Review: When thinking of my favourite Halloween films, this has to be at the top. It works on so many levels. A warm, loving, tale that just demands repeat viewing. Writer/director/musical composer/costar Frank LaLoggia did it his way and it's such a masterpiece. Ite shown as a flashback of Frankie's life, and the ghost he met as a child. When he was 9, he was accidentally locked in the cloakroom at school on Halloween night. There he comes face to face with the ghost of a little girl who was murdered. Later in the night, he is almost killed. The night changes his life.

He soon begins seeing the ghost, and later learns it was a little girl Melissa Montgomery who was murder years ago. Since that time more children have died. As he begins to solve the riddle of the murders, accusations falls to the janitor - a black man - a touch very reminiscent of To Kill a Mockingbird. Franklie suspects the accusations against the man were false, that it was someone else, someone very close to him responsible for the murders.

It's haunting, atmospheric, but also such a touching family drama, like the running battle Frankie's grandmother has trying to get her husband to stop smoking, and the closeness between Frankie and his brother.

Just a touching, brilliant movie that never loses its fascination.
