Rating: Summary: AWESOME!! TIM BURTON AT HIS BEST!!! Review: This film was an absolute fantastic success story for Tim Burton. It's a wonderful mix of horror, drama, suspense, and romance (a little bit, but NOT a click-flick.) It is majorly differnt from the original Washinton Irving legend, but I think for comming up with a brand new story line, they did a fantastic job. The first time i watched it, I really enjoyed it for all the spooky action and dramatic storylines, but the more I watched it, the more I really began to understand the in-depth story line and I began to enjoy it more and more. So if you're one of those people that are bad at following a story line, you can still really enjoy the movie and take it for what it's worth. To sum it up...it's an awesome movie and a fantastic legacy. Dont listen to those "I watched the first 20 minutes and hated it" sob-stories. You really got to watch the whole thing (the ending parts are fantastic.) So click "add-to-cart" and enjoy!!
Rating: Summary: Burton is back Review: Not since Batman have I been this into a Tim Burton movie. This actually beats Batman, but not by much. Tim finally found a classic story that matches his style. Johnny Depp is great as Ichabod Crane, and Christina Ricci proves she is ready to play more grown-up roles. Yes it is gory, yes it is moody, but that is the best way to make a movie about The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. See it.
Rating: Summary: Sleepy Hollow Review: I love Sleepy Hollow, but the only thing is that it turns into a sort of Cluedo who-dunnit murder mystery thing. Apart from that, Tim Burton at his best. A really good flick to watch on Halloween night.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic tale ! Review: Burton managed to make an outstanding picture, based on folklore, without being cheap or commercial. The movie is funny, fast-paced. The Headless Rider is a fearsome warrior, a kind of RPG Games warrior. Johhny Depp gives total credibility to Incabold Jones, the "great" technical detective. In the end there is some unforgettable humour scenes. Funny also is Walken, who doesn't speak a world the whole movie ! Great !
Rating: Summary: Yawn...Made Me Sleepy Review: This movie did absolutely nothing for me. I was extremely disappointed. As a matter of fact, I stopped watching after the first 20 minutes. It's for kids. Certainly, those under 19-20 years old may enjoy this movie, but it is NOT an adult spooky film. I had no idea that it was such a silly movie. I expected much more.
Rating: Summary: It's Art! Review: For art direction alone, the Sleepy Hollow is a masterpiece. No one but Tim Burton can make a set look at once so real and so fanciful. This wonderful retelling of Washington Irving's novel changes Ichabod Crane from a schoolteacher to a constable, investigating the decapitations in the small town of Sleepy Hollow. There, his science comes into direct confrontation with magic and mystery. Johnny Depp and Christina Ricci provide wonderfully entertaining performances and Christopher Walken makes the most of an interesting cameo. The film is gory (well, people are being decapitated, what do you expect?) but entirely entertaining...if you go for Tim Burton.
Rating: Summary: Funny Ichabod Review: Though I have heard about the title for a long time & I knew there was a headless horseman, I really did not know the in-between plot. So when I saw the DVD in our shop, I eagerly watched it with my husband. Sure, the setting, especially at the start, was spooky, what with the jack-o-lanterns & the sprawling fog. There was also the continuous brewing mystery among the 'old town officers' & their knowledge/connection with the mysterious decapitations happening in Sleepy Hollow. The twist of events will surely catch you off-guard. Johnny Depp/Ichabod was a funny character. He portrayed an investigator promoting his latest techniques/discoveries in the crime field. But despite the profession he got himself into, he was not really a tough guy but more of a scaredy cat. He made me laugh all through the movie. It is rare that you see the lead character bringing the light/funny moments in a suspense/thriller movie. Christina Ricci likwise played the role quite well. However, I don't find their teaming up fitting perfectly well, though I can't point out exactly what was wrong in their chemistry. Overall, I recommend viewers to watch the movie. It's a good movie & not a waste of time at all.
Rating: Summary: One of my favourites. Review: Small-town counstable Ichabod Crane (Johnny Depp) has been sent to the quitely spooky town of Sleepy Hollow to discover strange goings-on involving sevred heads. When he gets there, he is convinced by the towns-people that it is a ghost without a head, whom they call The Headless Horseman that is the decapitating monster. He believes that what they are telling him is utter drivel, but when things get really scary and unbelievable, Crane realises it is something out of this world that is the decapitating monsters. This film is sheer brilliance, Johnny Depp gives a Oscar worthy performances, Christina Ricci is sexily mysterious and Tim Burton gives his best directing effort yet. Sleepy Hollow is one of my favourite movies, it is a faultless, scary and beautiful movie that no-one should miss.
Rating: Summary: take the bad with the good Review: Let me just start with the few negative things about this movie that I have to mention: It's a little too long (fifteen minutes less would have been perfect), and it's a little heavy on the demonic side. If you don't have a strong stomach, the violence will be intollerably gruesome. Now, the positivity: This film is classic and beautiful. It's a dark and mysterious horror film that's rich with atmosphere and imagination. If you like Tim Burton, you'll appreciate the look and feel of this movie. Danny Elfman also composed a fantastic soundtrack that adds to the mood. Also, the special effects are fabulous, realistic, and interesting.
Rating: Summary: Just like Grandma used to make Review: Oh, it's no masterpiece, but it EXACTLY captured what I used to see in my head when Grandma told me bedtime stories. My Grandma was pretty scary, but it was fun scary, the kind that made you scrunch down under the covers but not far enough so that you couldn't hear every word. That's what this video is all about.
