Summary: beautiful cast in a "melrose place" plot
Review: The in-crowd is a fine movie, with a beautiful cast and a melrose place plot. It does not mean it is boring--not at all! In this movie,a girl(Adrien) leaves a mental institution to work in a summer club, with lots of rich and clueless teens. Despite the fact she is an employee, she soon gets involved with those people, going to parties, hanging out with rich girls, etc. She meets Brittany, a rich and snobish girl who becomes her friend, and who does everything to get what she wants. This movie is really similar to "wild things", with kevin bacon and neve campbell, and makes you laugh, without huge expectations.

Susan ward is incredible. She is naive, but at the same time extremaly dangerous and evil!

Summary: Movie Making at it's Worst
Review: I was dragged into this movie by friends and knew it would behorrible. The plot was worse than most daytime soap operas and theacting was less than par. It is obvious this movie was made for noother reason then to appeal to a teenage audiance. Random sex acts forno reason, a terribly unconvincing plot and actors who look good butcan't act for their lives. Never before have I seen such a terriblefilm.....

Summary: A gulity pleasure
Review: I bought this DVD to add to my collection.... What I found was a gulity litte pleasure in this moive. The basic plot is that a girl get out of mental ward gets a job and is benfriended by the delicous Susan Ward. When the new girl crosses Susan's chracter there's hell to pay. If this film had been rated R, had some nudity then it would did better at the box office but I liked it though....

Summary: Decent story, mediocre acting
Review: This beach-club teen murder mystery was pummeled by the critics and lasted about three weeks in theaters before beating a hasty retreat to the rental market. Like all films that foster extreme comments and establish preconceived expectations, this one failed to live up (or should I say down) to them. It wasn't great, but it wasn't anywhere near as bad as its critics say it was.

The story was actually good, in a puerile way. What I liked about it was that it accurately portrayed the immature backbiting and excessive preoccupation with superficialities that are common among teens. In certain ways, the story was predictable. It was easy to foresee that Adrien (Lori Heuring) was kidding herself if she thought there was no ulterior motive behind Brittany's (Susan Ward) open acceptance of an outsider into the group. What was cleverly presented and not so obvious was Brittany's motive.

The production was TV quality. Director, Mary Lambert has mostly TV credits on her resume and didn't push the envelope. The acting was mediocre at best. Both Lori Heuring and Susan Ward were passable but unpolished and they lacked subtlety. The rest of the cast was far worse.

This film will probably find a niche with teens and twenty-something young adults, but I don't think it is camp enough to attain cult status. I rated it a 5/10. It's not terrible, but it really doesn't distinguish itself in any meaningful way.

Summary: Incredible
Review: This movie is absolutely amazing. I really dont know how else to explain it. For the DVD owners, I HIGHLY recommend watching the entire movie with Lori and Susan's commentary. It is awesome. They're so interesting and when it's over it's incredibly disappointing. Definitely a must own!!!

Summary: Campy Fun
Review: As much as I would love to hate this movie, I honestly can say that I don't. In fact, I really enjoyed it. "The In Crowd" is not an Oscar contender, it is not the most deep and insightful movie of the year, and it is certainly not the most realistic portrayal of teenage life today. But, what is important, and what made me enjoy it, was the fact that they took it quite light heartedly and made it fun. It wasn't made to win an award-it was made to entertain (and Hollywood has become more "award orientated" lately, it is not about the entertainment anymore) and that is exactly what it does. If you are in the mood for a good, teen thriller with beautiful people with lots of money, then check it out. It's fun!

Summary: THE BEST TEEN THILLER TO DATE THIS SUMMER
Review: This movie was the best movie. From the beginning to end the acting was great, the plot was awesome and the down right mean character Brittany (Susan Ward) was hott and sexy and played her role just the way it was meant to be played. For those critics who thrashed on this movie--you don't know what a good movie is at all and should pay more attention. This stylish, murderous thiller will excite you and make you want to jump out of your seat and pay attention to it and will make you wanna watch it over and over.

Summary: The In Crowd Is This Summer's HOTTEST
Review: The reason I saw this is because Mary Lambert (director) has also directed many of Madonna's videos. It is about Adrian Williams, a girl who just got out of a psychiatic hospital and is ready to start a new life and job at a richy rich country club. She expects to be left alone and get her job done, but her great looks and smarts get the local "in crowd" interested. Brittany Foster (Susan Ward) takes her under her wing and shows her what the priviledged life is like. They go to parties, clubs, and share feelings for the same man. It gets really hot when Brittany reveals things about herself, aweful secrets. Adrian must get out of Brittany's trap and get on with her already-damaged life. Susan Ward's acting ability shines in this mystery/thriller. The characters all make this movie what it is: A MUST SEE.

Summary: hot cast, good plot, ok movie...
Review: I must admit, I enjoyed this movie...and it will no doubt turn into a guilty pleasure of mine once it hits DVD. The cast was attractive and the plot was twisted and easy to follow, as well as engrossing. The one problem was that nothing much seemed to happen, but I felt engrossed nonetheless. The movie didn't really live up to expectation, so don't expect much. If you go in with an open mind, you will enjoy it....if you expect to see the latest great teen thriller, ala Scream, you will be disappointed...the movie is a bit longer than it should be, but it is still a good movie...and be warned, this is hotter and sexier than any PG-13 movie I have ever seen...you will see breasts, dirty dancing, and lesbian kissing...as well as some steamy make-out sessions....enjoy...

Summary: A Slow Start Evolves into an Engrossing Mystery!
Review: Adrian has just been released from a psychiatric hospital after developing an extreme obcession with her school therapist. She is given a decent job at a local health club where she meets Brittany, the leader of the local "in crowd". Brittany takes her under her wing and Adrian fits right in...until, that is, Brittany discovers that her crush is falling for Adrian. Now, Adrian will get a taste of Brittany's darker side...a side that she may not live to tell about. Nice, easy-to-follow plot and (towards the end) well-executed suspense make this film a great edition to anyones' summer movie list. A pretty entertaining mystery about Brittany's sister is also thrown into the mix. The only problem about the film, though, is the fact that it takes a while to warm up. But, let me tell you, when it does...it gets hot!
