Summary: A Wonderful Suspense and Mystery Movie!
Review: Plot: 16 year old Ruby and her 11 year old brother (Rett)'s parents die in a mysterious car accident after going out to a restaurant. Their parents long time friends, Mr. and Mrs. Glass, take the kids in as their own and become their legal guardians. The Glass's house and the Glass's themselves seem great at first glance, but suddenly strange occurences begin to happen and Ruby begins to uncover the horrible truth behind the Glasses and the deaths of her parents. The truth lies deep in the glass house.

This is a first rate thriller, I must say. It is jam packed with suspence and interesting twists that glue your eyeballs to the screen. All the actors give great performances, especially the young and lovely LeeLee Sobieski as the troubled Ruby. The film does not rely on the gore and blood but more on the situation istelf and the jolting suspence which is a nice change from a lot the thrillers now a days. So just sit back and get ready to walk in "The Glass House"!

Overall: A first rate thriller that fully relies on the suspence and not the gore! BE SURE to Check it out!

Summary: Suspenseful!
Review: A couple with two children are killed in a tragic car accident. The children go to live with former neighbors, but not happily ever after. Red flags go up and the teenage girl begins to suspect that all is not well in the beautiful home in Malibu where they have been brought by their guardians. The children are forced to share a room, and it appears that their surrogate parents have some serious problems. Slowly the parents' hidden agenda is revealed and the suspense builds. The children begin to feel like prisoners in their gilded cage and they begin to look for ways to escape. The ending is farfetched, but all in all, this movie provides an interesting evening's entertainment.

Summary: Worth another look
Review: Although this film fails to stand up to the likes of "The Sixth Sense" and "Se7en", "The Glass House" is worth another chance. Leelee Sobieski acts like a teenage Helen Hunt (even down to the inflection) and doesn't present her acting abilities to the fullest. So, as a result, her performance is lackluster as the sleek Ruby. She does well, no doubt, but the lack of a lead in this film detracts from the whole. "The Glass House" looks like a teen movie in the beginning, but sluggishly it develops into a mid-range thriller. Strick, the writer relies too much on cliche and ends up with plot sequences that have been exhausted. Lane's character is a junky, and Skarsgard just a total screw up. I would of liked to seen more of Diane Lane, but it didn't happen. I know with a better writer, Sobieski could have done much better, as well as the other actors. But, in the end, "The Glass House" is worth another look. Don't put this movie down so easily.

Summary: Would deserve five stars if it weren't for the end
Review: "The Glass House" starts off as an intelligent thriller, then ends up with one of the most pathetic plots I've ever seen. This film is quite suspensful and entertaining to watch and anyone who likes a good thriller should enjoy this. If only it had a better ending...

Summary: One great thriller
Review: I enjoyed this movie very much. Leelee Sobieski was a spectacular lead, and got great assistance from the rest of the cast. Truly, she is a great young talent in Hollywood.

I could not give it a five however, because there were some isolated incidents that I felt lacked creativity. Yet, I don't believe that it detracted from the movie enough to make it unenjoyable.

Ruby (Sobieski) and her brother Rhett (Trevor Morgan of "The Patriot") are orphaned after a car accident claims their parent's lives. Ruby finds out that she and Rhett will be living with old family friends, the Glass'. But as they start settling in, she discovers that with the glamorous glass house in Malibu comes a nightmare that will endanger her and her brother's life.

Summary: Not to bad for the typical "new movie format".
Review: I was pleasantly surprised with this movie. It had good characters, but was very predictable. I had the whole plot figured out really early in the movie, but it was still fun watching how events unfolded anyway.

Summary: What a great movie! I loved it!
Review: I love this movie. So much that I want to buy it now, it's really good. At least rent it!!

Summary: Another typical Hollywood thriller
Review: If you like anything that Hollywood puts out, then go watch this movie. You won't be disappointed.

However ... if you prefer intelligent, surprising thrillers, then AVOID THIS MOVIE! The Glass House is very predictable and the plot is very, very thin.

I gave it a chance because I love Stellan Skarsgaard (see Insomnia or Ronin for a good movie) and generally like Leelee Sobrieski and Diane Lane. Plus Chris Noth and Bruce Dern have small parts. Unfortunately, the wonderful cast couldn't save the movie.

If you have nothing better to do for two hours, you won't die from boredom, but you probably will wish you watched something else.

Summary: So much fanfare, so little delivery...
Review: I was hooked on the trailer, and I was looking forward to seeing this movie. Unfortunately, the best part of the film WAS the trailer. My problem with the movie was the convenient moments of incredibly nonsensical behavior. Just when a bit of tension was building, our heroine fails us. I watched the movie with a group of 12 friends, and we all were shouting at the film at the same times. "Duh... call the police!" "Um, could you be any more obvious?" By the latter part of the film, we were all cheering the bad guys on. Our reason? "Anyone doing things that stupid deserves to get whacked."

Bottom line - Revved the engines but failed to engage the gears.

Summary: Chilling, but great!
Review: Leelee is once again great! I won't sum up the plot since others have, but I really enjoyed this film. The sister-brother interaction is actually quite funny, even in this suspense film. Great movie to see!
