Summary: Good movie that could have been better
Review: An excellent book turned into an average-better than average movie. Moments of high suspense punctuated with almost loathingly boring filler. The movie seemed to be a collection of a few underdeveloped storylines, but that is often the case with a story that has so many different possibilities. I feel that most of the truly negative feedback on the movie likely stems from the movie's avoidance of good wins all the big battles against evil all of the time. I'd rent it first, then buy it if you liked it enough to see it again.

Summary: Great movie, do watch it
Review: Very supricing end. You have to watch it

Summary: Much better than I had expected
Review: The negative reviews I had read prior to watching this movie gave me low expectations; however, I was quite pleasantly surprised. As a supernatural detective story, it's mediocre at best - the mood and suspense are not sustained evenly throughout the film, at times hanging on ever so scantily. The film is saved by an absolutely unexpected ending, one which will inevitably drive viewers to either love or disgust. The many comparisons to "Seven" are indeed founded, right up to the peculiar finale.

Summary: Seems to have 'fallen' down...
Review: Overall, Fallen is one of those "hey-haven't-I-seen-this-before" type of movies that made me think with great remorse of the money I wasted on it.

Fallen has it's good point: a well-rounded cast that turned in good performances despite a weak and derivative plot.

Overall, though, the ending absolutely STANK! This film left a bitter taste in my mouth and I'm sorry I bought the DVD.

Summary: Definitely worth watching, and well directed too
Review: I read the book of this first and it was really good so when I went to see the film I was expecting it to be good. Though not quite up to my expectations after reading the book, it was still very enjoyable and was my fave film of '98. In answer to some other comments, the reason a cat was used at the end is because a cat is the only animal which can hold evil. That's why they're considered lucky/unlucky, used by witches etc. This makes sense when you think about it or otherwise you could simply reason that Azazel could just fly as a spirit from insect to insect throughout the woods until he got back to the city again from Milano's cabin. Anyway, that's why a cat was used. Also, the 'touching' thing was a nice touch to the film (sorry... just had to say that, heh heh). One thing I'll say about the film is that even though the touching to transfer spirit to host wasn't trying to be realistic, the way Hobbes became aware of Azazel was. At first, I saw this as a flaw in the story - but after watching it again and paying close attention to the script (especially Hobbes' narration) I found this to be one of the film's stronger points. My advice to anyone who saw the film - read the book. Usually, I'm discouraged by books being based on films and prefer books from which films have been made. But in Fallen's case, Dewey Gram has really done the film justice while writing it... Are you still reading this? Go out and buy the book!

Summary: Why God, Why?
Review: If it weren't for the fact that this movie had been released 10 years prior (Shocker) and ten times (more like 100) better, The Excorcist, this could have been a decent film.

Instead we are treated to a bland narration and bland performances from some incredible actors. And don't get me started on the damn ending.

Summary: Suspense thriller than does no wrong
Review: Similar in storyline, style and setting to se7en, this movie does it all just about right. Though there is something subtle lacking. I'm not quite sure what it is. Watch it for yourself and see

Summary: Great movie to watch alone at night.
Review: Excellent suspense and great 5.1 soundtrack.Would have given it 5 stars if they used a bobcat or some other wild animal instead a domesticated cat in the ending. After all this scene was supposed to have taken place out in the middle of the woods.Overall I thought this was a great thriller.

Summary: One of the best ANTI CLIMAX films of the decade.
Review: I have almost rated the film 4 star especially towards the end ... very intense part BUT I was broken hearted when finally there appeared the cat.. the cat that changed the whole course of the movie and also downrated the film overall... VERY ANTI CLIMAX!

Summary: Azazel
Review: this movie rocks! Azazel was probably the most suspensful character ever, just because you couldn't see him!!!
