Summary: A very exciting thriller
Review: This dvd is very well remastered with extra features as well. It includes the original theatrical trailor, closed caption and an additional french language option.
The actors in this film do a marvelous job, with ernie hudson as solomon as the true hero in my opinion. He not only plays his role excellently but he also truly has the most love for the family when clare bartell's husband seems to play a rather wimpy man who fails to protect his own family and ironicially is the slowest at grasping the facts of the real danger. In any case this movie is very exciting, with rebecca de mornay as the perfect vengful nanny.

Summary: Rebecca Demornay plays the ultimate Deadly Diva.
Review: This is one of those movies you can rewatch again and again. It is one of my all time favs. Rebecca Demornay is brilliant in this film. She plays a totally convincing psychpath, you love to hate her! I think she is one of the most underated actresses around. Why hasn't she done more movies?!? Annabella Sciora plays a dimwitted housewife oblivious to everything going on around her, it becomes rather sad watching her, almost making it a bit comical at times. This is put quite simply, a gripping intense thriller to the fullest extent. I put it in the catagory of top 5 biggest b@#$%s alive in film: 1. Kathy Bates in Misery 2. Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction 3. Rebecca DeMornay in Hand that Rocks the Cradle 4. Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct 5. Lara Flynn Boyle in The Temp Check out all these movies, they're grrrrreat!

Summary: Major Goosebumps!
Review: This is, without question, one of the best thrillers of the 90s. I was about 12 years old when I first saw the film and I recall having goosebumps while watching the chilling De Mornay cast her spell (especially in the bathroom scene where she rips up the proposal!--my gosh, that would have made a heckuva Oscar clip for De Mornay, had she received a much deserved Oscar nomination). It's kind of slow moving in parts though, but I think that makes the tension build even better--leading up to the climax that is guaranteed to make you jump in certain places. Yeah, it's predictable, but so wasn't "Titanic". It's the story, suspense, and acting that make this film so great. And did I mention the music? Talk about creating a mood!

Summary: Attention Aspiring Filmmakers
Review: This movie has it all! Yes, it's a little paint- by-numbers, but when the scripting, direction and acting are so good, who cares? This is one of those films, like Halloween and sex, lives and videotape, that are like an education in economical filmmaking. Don't get me wrong - it's entertainment first and foremost (that's the point!) - but there's a LOT to learn here.

Summary: A thriller!
Review: This movie was terrific. Rebecca De Mornay played her part so well, I felt like I was living there in that house. You can feel the tension building and at times are very uncomfortable. It's hard to believe that someone as pretty and well-mannered as De Mornay's character could turn so evil. The character she played was probably normal until her life fell apart. In a short period of time, her husband committed suicide after the scandal came out that he was molesting patients, she lost the baby she was carrying, and was then forced to have an emergency hysterectomy. In addition to all this, her husband's estate was going to be sued by a number of sources, so she could not even keep her house or any of the money. This character had lost everything. Now she wants revenge on the woman who started it all, Claire Bartel (Sciorra). She also wants Claire's husband and two children for herself. The only thing she needs to do is get Claire out of the way. It is truly chilling from beginning to end. Seattle looks great in it, too. In fact, this movie inspired me to take my first trip to Seattle. I even went to the "Bartel's" house, which is located in Tacoma. It is a beautiful neighborhood. I took pictures of the house and surrounding area. It was hard to believe that I was actually there. The neighborhood didn't have that "chilling" feeling, though. You only get that from watching the movie. Amanda Silver did a brilliant job writing this script.

Summary: The Psycho Nanny From Hell!!!
Review: This was a great drama/thriller about a woman that reports a doctor for molesting her during a pregnancy test. After he is charged and watches it aired on the news, he kills himself, leaving a beautiful wife and un-born child behind. The wife is so emotionally tramitized that the extreme stress causes complications with her pregnancy, and she tragically loses the baby. She is now mentally unbalanced and tracks down the woman who destroyed her family and poses as a nanny. She seems absolutly perfect until the woman discovers that her nanny is trying to steal her baby, family, and life from her. All hell breaks loose after this as the nanny continously tries to kill the woman so she can finally take her place and have a family of her own. The scene where the nanny has a violent breakdown in the green house shows just how serious she is. If you haven't seen this one already, you should definatly see it.

Summary: De Mornay's finest film ever!
Review: Who would've thought that The Hand That Rocks The Cradle would've become so popular ever since its 1992 release? After being broadcast on the networks many times and finally put on cable, the viewers ratings show that this thriller is one that manages to gain more popularity with each showing. Starring Rebecca De Mornay as the estranged wife of an obstitrician accused of sexual molestation, she seeks out the woman who brought up the charges (Annabella Sciorra) after her husband kills himself. De Mornay's character, Peyton Flanders, worms her way into Annie's home, posing as a nanny in order to make Sciorra's family her own. The suspense builds to sometimes frightening heights as Peyton begins to destroy Annie's life, misplacing papers and making things not what they seem. The climax is one of the best suspense endings I've seen in my life, and the acting from each person in this film is amazing and truly believable. Unlike so many other movies, this one is not anticlimactic, and flows very steadily from start to finish. A must-see for an De Mornay fan as well as followers of the suspense genre.
