Review: Well I have to say this may not have been the scariest movie I have ever seen but it definitely was good.The storyline was very thought provoking and some parts creeped me out while others left me guessing. You definitely need to rent this and experiance the ring for yourself.And once it's over there's only 7 days!

Summary: Scariest danged video I've ever seen!
Review: If you liked "The Sixth Sense" then you should really like this one! Except that it's even scarier! Remember how, at the end of "The Sixth Sense" it got kind of warm and fuzzy as you suddenly understood what the scary stuff was all about? Well, in "The Ring" it starts getting kind of warm and fuzzy toward the end, too. But then it gets A WHOLE LOT SCARIER! I just thought this one was brilliant! Great casting, a great story, and truly frightening! Oh, and don't let anybody tell you the Japanese original ("Ringu") is better. I rented it right after seeing the U.S. version, and the U.S. version is far better (at least in my opinion.) This one is AWESOME!

Summary: good beginning but bad ending
Review: this movie started out good but then i lost my interest in it. i rented it on dvd but i don't think i will buy it. the movie had a spooky glued to the seat beginning but then it started getting stupid like every other horror movie. i still think the best horror film was THE EXORCIST.

Summary: Excellent movie
Review: I am not under 13..however..ihave seen this movie and i was very very impressed by it.. IT has very greusome images..yet very few.. I thought that the director did a superb job of complicating the plot, and then explaining it...that been said, some things needed to be explained more..but like i say..some things are better off un-explained. People who give this movie bad reviews..just can't seem to appreciate an excellent horror movie that wisely scares you with using limited or no blood!!

Summary: Night of the Living Television Sets...
Review: So, where does one start when one pans a movie??? I rated this confused and less-than-subtle stinker "3" for the lovely cinematics. But, the story is a teen thriller that ends up like a... well... teen thriller.Desperately trying to be an art house heart-stopper, the story twists and turns and confuses and leaves you desperate for a great ending... but, guess what? That emptiness you feel may end up torquing your face more than a vacation snapshot.

Summary: Reviewing the DVD
Review: I aboslutely loved this movie. The movie itself deserves 5 stars. Despite what other people say, if you see the movie enough times ... you can figure out all the things that appear to be mere loose ends. Chilling and cryptic. Definitely my kind of scary movie.
The reason I'm only giving 4 stars is that the DVD was not as wonderful as I was expecting. The "all new short film" seemed to be deleted scenes cobbled together with images from the video. Another thing - the "killer video" feature... the video was changed from what was seen in the movie. I feel this was unnecessary. I feel the video needed no added imagery. I wish there had been some more features... and a commentary. I adore commentaries. :)

Review: The Ring is boring. Why so many people say it's scary is beyond me. The so-called "investigation" was pointless, and it still didn't explain anything about why the deaths were occuring. The plot was needlessly slow and the mildly "scary" parts were too few and far in between. It's rated PG-13, how scary and disturbing could it be? Creepy music and spooky scenery just doesn't do it for me. I'm very disappointed.
As far as the "extras" on the dvd goes, they're pretty week, it's just a collection of edited scenes and non-sensical images.

Summary: Big Waste Of Time
Review: I saw this with my mom. I dont really like horror movies and havent seen many. The only thing scary about this movie were the images. They were disturbing. There wasn't any moments though that made me jump out of my seat. As the movie went on I was able to make the connections. It wasn't that hard. But I knew the ending way into the movie. It just dragged on and on. Almost half of the movie could have been cut out. A lot of it just didn't need to be in the movie. Just please, dont listen to all these other people who say it was a good movie. They dont know what they are saying. Use you good judgement and use your time for something else.

Summary: A Creepily Good Time
Review: The Ring, the Dreamworks Pictures remake of the Japanese film Ringu, is pervasively creepy, etching unsettling images into your head which will make you want to sleep with the lights on. Its enjoyment comes from the ominous visuals and camera shots, and the slowly escalating feeling of doom which drives the movie. It's a different kind of horror movie - there are no jump out of your seat scares, squeemish gore scenes, or any of the usual conventions; instead it's about tension and skin crawling apprehension. Naomi Watts plays Rachel Keller, a journalist who, at the request of her sister, is investigating the mysterious death of her niece. The trail leads to the cabin where her niece, boyfriend, and teenage friends spent the previous weekend, and she soon learns that everyone from that group died freakishly at exactly the same time as her niece, 7 days to the date. There she finds an unsettling video tape which the group watched - nightmarish images in grainy black and white video which play out like a terrible dream. As soon as Rachel watches the tape, the phone rings and a child's voice says, "Seven days." So the clock starts ticking. Matters are complicated when her son and ex-boyfriend also view the tape, both receiving the seven day call. From there on the majority of the movie is a creepy mystery - like an X-Files episode - following the dark clues to try and unravel the secret of the video tape before time runs out. Why are the faces of everyone photographed after watching the video distorted? What is the lighthouse seen on the periphery of the video's tracking? Who is the little girl who calls with the seven day warning, or the woman in the mirror on the video, and of course, what is the Ring? The images do serve as a puzzle, and, by the end of the movie you will understand what The Ring is and its dark images mean. Those expecting in-your-face type of scares will be disappointed, since that's not what this movie is about. It takes its time and uses it to keep upping the ante on the apprehension level. But the creepiness is so thick it makes your skin crawl. This movie is about knowing something horrific is coming for you, and watching it inch closer and closer. It's about mood and atmosphere, about trying to unravel some twisted, dark little puzzle where the consequence of failure is an unspeakibly horrifying death. It's been compared to the Sixth Sense, and I think that's accurate. The Sixth Sense was scary because it got under skin. So does The Ring. Watch it with the lights out. Enjoy the atmosphere and think about it long after it's over - the Ring makes an excellent addition to the thinking thriller collection.
