Summary: Clue: just as good as I remember
Review: This is a cool spoof which I always remember loving as a kid. You've got Tim Curry playing just about the best part I've ever seen him in, suberbly arrogant, Christopher Lloyd playing his usually eccentric self, and Lesley Ann Warren, well lets just say the cleavage is just how I remember it. But somehow I can never be bothered to watch just the one suprise ending when I can see all three... what's that all about?

Summary: A Laugh-A-Minute
Review: This is one of my favorite films of all time. It's loaded with outragous, silly slapstick humor and the entire cast is superb! You'll be amazed at how many of the lines and gags get stuck in your head. I'll never be able to forget the flusterd looks of Mrs. Peacock, the wit and charm of Wadsworth or the subtle facial expressions of Mrs. White. Thankfully I'll be able to see all this and more as Clue is finally presented in anamorphic widescreen! The picture is the best yet of this film since it's initial release, but there are moments when the image appears too soft and the entire presentation leans to the dark side (no Star Wars pun intended). The darkness though, does help to heighten the mystery/suspense aspect of Clue. From a purists point of view it's good that the soundtrack is kept in it's original mono, still I'd greatly enjoy hearing a stero or, even better, a surround sound version in the future. Unfortunately there are only 13 chapter stopsincluded on the DVD. Any film requires at least double this amount to be really effective.

Without a doubt the best feature of this DVD is the multiple endings feature. After you select "play" you will be asked if you would lilke the player to randomly choose one of the three endings for you, or see all three of them at the end. Whoever thought of this feature deserves a raise as it greatly enhances the longevity of the disc and brings the film closer to it's board game roots. Now you have the option of really not knowing who did it until the final scenes play bringing suprise into the untold repeat viewings that are sure to occur.

The technical imperfections mentioned before are slight and I believe are primarilly due to original production decisions and the films age. To make a long review short (too late), this is a must own for any fan of one of the numerous stars, comedy or film firsts. You won't be disappointed.

Summary: comic brilliance
Review: Loosely based on the Board game of the same name, the cast of Clue runs about frantically from room to room at the same time deciphering and convoluting a plot that moves too fast for the audience to know what the hell is going on. the movie is hillarious and completely ridiculous: one of the funniest things is the complete confusion on the faces of the characters throughout the whole movie. Tim Curry, Martin Mull and the rest of the cast are hillarious

Summary: Tim Curry is Definitely no Drag as Straight-laced Butler
Review: If you loved him in "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," you'll be amazed when you see his straight-faced comical antics in "Clue." I love this movie, from beginning to end (and to end....and to end). Seeing Tim Curry in a suit seems shocking, at first, but you'll become comfortable with his clean-cut image, as he explains to his guests why they have all been invited to this Mansion in the middle of nowhere (no, not that one!). Of course, all the other people are great, also (love the maid ; ) --but, let's face it: Curry is the center of attention, no-matter how much running from room to room he does, throughout the movie! These people will keep you in stiches, all evening, and you will be talking about "watching it the next time," before the tape is rewound! I've tried to order this one, where I live, and cannot find it...so, once-again, I am indebted to Amazon. As in all of Curry's movies (IT, Legend, etc.), he steals the show. Be ready for a wild comedy with great sets, fast-paced action and lots of Word-Play. Have Fun!

Summary: Uh...WOW!
Review: This is definetly the funniest movie I've ever seen in my life!! Great script, [Of which I have a copy of] the best cast, and of course, it's one of the most quotable movies in the world!!

You wouldn't expect a PG movie to be this funny but it is. I'm very dissappointed with the job Paramount did with this DVD. It deserved loads and loads of extras. If you're reading this Paramount, a dinky little trailer won't cut it. You people who are reading this, I'm not telling anybody not to buy this DVD. Even though it's low on extras, it still deserves a home. A plus to this DVD is that you have a choice if you want to see all three endings at once or a random ending. Tim Curry, Madeline Kahn and Eilenn Brennham are just plain riots!! Thank you God for all these people you made Clue possible!

Summary: Life After Death is as Improbable as Sex after Marriage
Review: This movie is guaranteed to make anyone laugh due to the great number of witty and hilarious remarks made by the seven main characters (such as Ms. White's comment listed as my subject).

The movie, based on the Clue board game, is to my knowledge the only movie adaptation of a board game. The plot is magnificent in attempting to explain why six characters (with the outlandish names from the board game) would be in a mansion together and possibly want to kill Mr. Boddy. In that sense, it certainly adds to one's appreciation of the board game.

The movie is, of course, a wonderful comedy. The jokes are on par with Airplane or Naked Gun in terms of the joke/minute ratio although Clue certainly has a more mature sense of humor.

It's historical too. References to "the War," "communism," "un-American activities" are used throughout the movie due to its setting in the middle of the 20th century in New England.

Members of the cast that are truly the stars of this movie (in my opinion) are Curry, Mull, and Kahn. In fact, it is probably impossible for one not to laugh at Madeline Kahn's speech about "flames on the side of my head..."

This movie will most definitely please any comedy lover.

In terms of DVD additions, the ability to watch the movie with one of the three endings as opposed to all three is a great addition. I had owned the VHS version of this movie which places all three endings together causing the movie to be viewed differently than one saw it at the theatre (with only one ending). With the ability to only have one of the three endings, you can fully enjoy the second or third endings by seeing them solo. The picture quality is also higher in the DVD version.

Summary: GREAT movie, ehhhh DVD....
Review: We all know CLUE as the premiere cult murder-mystery/comedy of the mid-eighties, so WHY is this DVD so barren. The movie, and a few trailers wont cut it for this killer film. DONT BUY THIS ONE, lets all wait for the release (hopefully) of some kind of Special Edition.
