Review: Honestly my favorite part of this DVD is the special features interview with Milla Jovovich talking about her haircut, because it's just Milla being herself. I'd watch Milla stare into the camera for 2 hours and give it 5 stars. However there is one thing I really need to know about this film. I'm wondering if anyone else picked up on it and wether it was planned or just a fluke. The first time Eloise walks into the book store she picks up about 4 or 5 paperbacks and the one on the top caught my eye immediately, because it's unmistakebly Carlos Castasneda's "A Seperate Reality". I have been a Castaneda devotee for many years. So I'm just curious as to who's idea this was, because I honestly don't think it was a fluke. I will also give the film 2 thumbs up for the Castaneda cameo. I loved "The Milla-ion Dollar Hotel"

Review: This was a real waste of time. Nothing good about this viewing experience. It could have been much "better" if it had been thirty minutes long. Just chop out all of the relentlessly tedious middle of the movie. This was just horrible.

Summary: This is a cartoon, and not a very good one
Review: This is a very difficult to watch movie. So much so, I never watched it to the end. Panning a movie is a risky business, however, I wish someone told me to steer clear of this one.The movie is told from the perspective of one of the residents of a dive hotel in-or-near Hollywood. It has the narration of one of the more spaced-out characters. This hotel is a half-way house for those not one-hundred percent qualified to be in a "psych-ward" of some hospital. There appears to have been a suicide of one of the residents, who just happen to be the son of some Hollywood mogul that can't imagine his son taking a dive. Thus, a homicide rap has to be cooked up. Who better for this than Mel Gibson playing a Dick Tracy type role, will all the depth and range of that very same cartoon character... Honestly, prior to this movie, I didn't think he could make a bad movie. There are some pretty well known actors in this movie for its lack of quality. It is one thing to be campy and over the top, but this movie really misses in this direction as well. Like anything, this is my opinion, and I can't tell you if it got better after the first 45 minutes, because I didn't stick around. Let's just say Buyer or Viewer Beware.

Summary: trust me- see this movie
Review: this is the best movie I have seen in a while! Being a film student I am very critical of the movies I do see. When I see a big blockbuster movie with romance and mystery and action I usually have to force myself to se the end, and usually halfway through I know what the ending is going to be. Although this film might not be for everyone, because it is based mostly on dialogue, it is a nice film to see if you are bored with all the BIG Hollywood film movies. If any one enjoyed this movie as much as I did, I am sure you would enjoy films such as The Man Who Cried, The Princess and the Warrior(German)or Run,Lola,Run. In addition- Tom Tom played by Jeremy Davies is an incredible character along with Eloise played by Milla Jovovich. Also the sountrack rocks! (Milla Jovovich sings several songs)

Review: Weird, wonderful love story full of totally unique characters. Brilliant! The interviews on the DVD are also quite fascinating.

Review: I saw a review that said this film was boring. I just wanted to say that this movie is anything but that. This is one of the best films I have seen in a long time. He/ She must be used to watching gun-packed, blood filled movies because this has great cinemetography and great acting with an excellent story. Just my 2 cents.

Summary: Didn't get it.
Review: Boring... I love Wim, Bono and Mel. (Milla has fallen off of my scope since her role in the lousy movie, "The Messenger".) I was excited to see this movie, so it had everything going for it. But the ...characters milled about for two hours without one coherent word. The movie was chaos. Movies with characters that are mentally disabled can achieve amazing results, i.e, 12 Monkeys and Cuckoo's Nest. I didn't think the 'hotel' pulled it off.

Review: This review is for anyone who, like me saw the trailer and said to them selves "wow that looks like a really cool detective movie", well its not a detective movie, Mel Gibson is in it as a detective this much is true but his character take a black seat in this picture, wandering in and out of the story line at his will. The real story is about is about two of the crazy people that are staying at this hotel flirting with each other. Milla Jovovich plays her underwritten part well with lots of subtel moments I'm sure people wont pick up on straight away,...Tom Tom character is mentally retarded so its really hard to work out his reasonings and motivation....

Review: This is one of those movies that is "artistic" because someone was trying really really really hard to make it that way. People say that art is in the eye of the beholder and I have typically felt that the so-called "artistic" movies try so hard to be "artistic" that they become... In this case, I am the beholder and I say that this movie is garbage, even for Mel Gibson, who is a wonderful actor. I feel the same way about this movie as I did about Pulp Fiction and Taxi Driver. This movie was... The plot was dumb. The ending was dumb. The characters and acting were ridiculous and .... well I dunno! There are so many bad things I could say about this movie but I don't want to waste anymore of my time. I have other things I could be doing. I just felt the need to print my very very negative review.

Summary: beautiful
Review: I loved this movie. Granted I had dosed on mushrooms when I watched it for the first time. I watched it again sober, however, and found it to be just as amazing as I thought it was. I came here to buy the soundtrack and picked up on the dvd too. It's the kind of movie I won't mind watching again and sharing with friends. I am a huge fan of Milla Jovovich, as well as of Mel Gibson. I believe Milla's performance is superb. Mel's character is very odd, but he does a good job of pulling off a difficult role. This film deserves the 5 stars I give it.
