Summary: Hannibal at his baddest
Review: When I was ten years old, "The Silence of the Lambs" was released in theaters. I heard a lot of "buzz" about it, therefore heightening my curiosity. I begged my mom to let me watch it. She always said "no". It took two years for her to finally say "yes". I rented it that day. After I watched it, I realized it was worth the wait.

"The Silence of the Lambs" is a work of genius. Who knew that a thriller can contain such level of quality? The writers have a very creative mind as expressed in this movie. Few other movies can chain an unusual chain of events and an unusual personality and make it fit so perfectly. It blends with the rest of the movie smoothly. This movie was well-deserving of all five Oscar wins, including Best Picture. However, it should have won more.

Anthony Hopkins was terrific in his Oscar winning role as the infamous imprisoned serial killer Hannibal Lector. This is his best acting in his career. Jodie Foster was the perfect casting choice for her Oscar winning role as the determined FBI agent-in-training Clarice Starling. Their chemistry is perfect, even with a glass wall between them. The role of "Buffalo Bill" by Ted Levine is wonderful.

Every scene will keep one watching closely guessing what will happen next. Therefore, one can watch it everyday for twelve years and still find new reasons to love it. Though, those who are offended by graphic violence and images may be disturbed by certain scenes. Those who are not will have no problem discovering why " The Silence of the Lambs" will be a classic. Of the Hannibal Lector trilogy, this is the best.

Summary: "A census taker once tried to test me..."
Review: "The Silence of the Lambs" about an FBI trainee who is assigned to use knowledge of the insane Dr. Hannibal "the cannibal" Lecter to find a serial killer who skins his victims. Actor Anthony Hopkins and actress Jodie Foster made their best appearances in this film. "The Silence of the Lambs" which recieved four stars from the critics also earned two spots in AFI's 100 heroes and villains special. The character of Clarice Starling ranked in at number six for heroes as Hannibal Lecter earned first in the villains.

Filmed in 1991, this movie (and novel, by the way) was much better than its sequels. But then again, few movies are able to live up to their predecessors. "Hannibal" and the new "Red Dragon" have both let the Hannibal Lecter series fall down, making "The Silence of the Lambs" less of a movie than it really is.

Every piece of the film is great. There are many people who say the movie is boring or that it has no real plot, or in one of Amazon.com's reviewer, just gore. I won't lie, the hotel scene is a bit violent, but is nothing compared to the ending in "Hannibal." But the ending in "The Silence of the Lambs" is a bit gory, the scene inside Bufallo Bill's house.

Overall, "The Silence of the Lambs" is a great film and features many talented actors in their best roles of a lifetime.

Summary: Terribly Overated!
Review: Most critics today love violent movies, but beware of some of their recommendations. In The Silence of the Lambs, the story of the hunt for a depraved serial killer, director Jonathan Demme and actors Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins expend considerable talent on a film that remains repellent and stubbornly unilluminating. If you are dying to see a movie about one man who bites his victims' tongues out and another who skins his victims and sews their dismembered flesh into a gown, this one's for you. But this wasn't scary or disturbing as it promised. A big flop.

Summary: wow
Review: On my list of top ten movies, this one comes in second. Jonathon Demme is a genius along with Ted Tally, Tomas Harris, Jodie Foster, and, of course, Anthony Hopkins. A truly real film. It has an erie creepiness to it that is not present in these teen slasher flicks. The fact that this movie is exactly like real events will keep you up all night. Hannable Lector is the best villian, not only in my opinion, but also in the American Film Institute's. Clarrice Starling is one of the best good guys in any film as well. An erie score is also present, but it isn't overdone as in most horror movies. Whoever said this movie is not scary, never stoped to think that stuff like this really happens almost everyday. It is real, unlike The Ring, Signs, Halloween, and other horror flicks. If you think this is just another scary movie, you are very, VERY wrong. This movie doesn't hold back anything. Se it today.

Summary: Excellent Thriller.
Review: Plot: Silence of the Lambs tells the story of FBI trainee Clerice Starling (Jodie Foster) who is asked by her boss, Jack Crawford (Scott Glenn) to interview Dr. Hannibal the Cannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins) in order to find some information about a serial killer known only as Buffalo Bill (Ted Levine), who is skinning various women and using their skin to make suits to wear. Dr. Lecter is skeptical about sharing information with Starling until she agrees to share information about her personal life. Quid pro quo. She tells Dr. Lecter about the death of her father and her being sent to live on a ranch until she ran away. With every compicated hint, Clarice is a step closer to catching Buffalo Bill. The clock is ticking, and she'd better hurry.

Acting: I read the book before I saw the movie, and I must say, nobody could have been better for their parts. Anthony Hopkins was perfect as Hannibal, far surpassing Brian Cox's performance in Manhunter. He really makes the part his own, and is truly unforgettable. Jodie Foster also did a great job as Clarice. The character displayed a lot of emotion throughout the movie and Foster brought that to her character excellently. Scott Glenn also did good as Crawford. Ted Levine was really, REALLY scary as Buffalo Bill, and that trick he does near the end..... BRRRRR!

Overall: The directing was good, everything was good. See the movie.

Summary: Hello Clarice
Review: Lets get one thing starait now, the books are always better than the movies, but this one sure got close. The story focuses on a FBI agent in training named Clarice Sterling[Jodie Foster in her oscar winning role] assigned to get information on a serial killernamed Buffalo Bill who keeps women for three days and then sends them down river dead, from an insane, although brilliant doctor named Hannibal Lecter[Anthony Hopkins].
What's the catch to getting this information, for every little bit of information Clarice gets, she has to give him some about her past. This is hard for her to comfront, but she does it to catch Buffalo Bill, as he has now kidnapped the senators daughter.
The movie shows flashbacks from her past, and gives details about why she became a FBI agent in the first place. One of the best parts about the movie is how it makes you think about what's happening, and why it's happening.
Demme's direction is great in this mastrepiece. Ted Tally's screenplay is outstanding, and with it's trend setting scenes, you only have to watch it once to remember it. Of course, you'll be watching it more than once.
The DVD is filled with twenty minutes of deleted scenes, and interviews with the cast.
Add all of this up and you've got a movie that you're going to be watching again and again. Enjoy!

Summary: NOT SCARY AT ALL!
Review: This movie is in no way scary or disturbing. I laughed at this movie, It was so funny when he said "I ate his liver with some fava beans..." I laughed at everything in this movie. from beginning to ending I laughed. This has got to be one of the funniest movies ever made. NOT! This movie just sux. It is for those people who are VERY easily scared. This is nothing to me. Heck I fell asleep in this "movie." skip this and see something scary.

Summary: A Census Taker Tried to Test Me Once
Review: The awards that this film earned don't lie. Taken virtually word for word from the excellent Thomas Harris novel, Jodie Foster stars as the strong-willed while also insecure Clarice Starling, an aspiring FBI agent roped into the Buffalo Bill case. Great suspense as the search goes on for a devious serial killer intent on finding women meeting his special criteria. All of this pales, however, to the performance of Anthony Hopkins as the now legendary Hannibal Lecter, the most devious and clever serial murderer in cinematic history. I can't recommend this film enough, just awesome.

Summary: Brilliant
Review: This movie needs no review. It is absolutely brilliant. I wish I could watch it again for the first time.
If you have the Criterion Collection of Silence Of The Lambs then there is really no need to buy this. However, if you have the original release of Silence, which has scene selection or play movie, then do yourself a favout and pick up this version. The original release was rubbish and the sound and picture on this new Special Edition are absolutely stunning. Great job.
