Summary: A good one!!
Review: Having had this System for several days now i have to tell you how happy i am to have bought it.The ease of set-up with the color coded wires and jacks,to the ease of operation and the great sound and picture!! I bought this unit to A:consoildate componants B: upgrade the sound of my DVD's and C: because my toddler children ruined my last DVD player and i needed one compact enough to put on a shelf.I must say i covered my ABC'S.
My only gripe and it's a rather sizable one is the remote control,actually the lack of size the buttons are soooooo small and after having other Sony remotes i was suprised by the lack of user-friendlyness.But that aside a good buy!!

Summary: GREAT sound, but the offer is misleading....
Review: I was very impressed with the quality of the sound, and the speakers come with plenty of wire and are very easy to put together. They're also tiny; you don't even notice where they are unless you're listening for them. The glow-in-the-dark remote is a good idea, although there are so many tiny buttons on it I had to put marks next to the ones I use most often with a paint pen. I'm using a switch-box with mine to hook up sound from two computers, a local antenna through a VCR and a satellite receiver through a VCR. All of them sound great, even routed through the box. I have the satellite hooked up directly to the receiver and there's no difference in sound quality between the direct line and the one through the VCR and switch-box. Even the headphone option (standard 1/8 stereo jack like on your portable devices) sounded great. The "sound field" options allow you to change the sound based on what type of movie, music or game you're listening to. I can make my own music sound live, and I make mine on a computer! Also, you have composite, component and S-video options to fit whatever type of TV and VCR you have. You can mix and match if you need to. It came with AM and FM antennas, but I don't listen to radio, so I haven't tried them. The DVD/CD player is incorporated into the A/V receiver, which saves on space. I already had a DVD player, and could have spent ... less to get a similar Sony system with just a receiver, but this offer currently comes with the promise of 5 free DVD's ... HOWEVER... You don't find out until you get your confirmation email that the DVD's are their choice, not yours. I believe they were: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon

Vertical Limit You don't even get to choose five out of a list of ten, or anything. That's it, take it or leave it. I'm only interested in one of those movies, and I already own it. Now if I redeem the rebate I'll have to find someone who is interested in each of them to buy them, or sell them to our local "used" store (which is actually a half-hour drive for me). In either case, I'll be lucky to get [money]. If I had known there was no choice in the DVD's, I probably would have gone with the other system. The system itself deserves 5 stars, but I had to subtract one for the misleading ad. That's just wrong.

Summary: Great Bedroom System
Review: The title says it all! This system is the perfect choice for a great movie experience while laying in bed. The quality of sound is superb and quite honestly I would have not expected the quality from a standard set up from Sony. This system could quite possibly be the basis for an "ES" setup. My only gripe, which is the reason I gave it 4 stars vs. 5, is that disc ejecting and disc swapping takes an unusually long amount of time. My old 5 disc carousel swaps discs out quicker than this model. Great package though! Do yourself a favor and skip the DAVC500 model and get this one!

Review: We purchased this system to consolidate our components (Tuner, VCR, CD player) since we wanted to add DVD to the mix. The sound is great. They setup is VERY easy. Performs as advertised. We hooked it up with the Cable/VCR on input #1 so that input #2 could be used for the X-box and it works great! Buttons on the remote are small, but that's just an observation. Bottom line? A great purchase!
