Description:
Yamaha's CinemaStation AV-1 features a surround-processing control center and five satellite loudspeakers small enough to fit on a bookshelf or cabinet. The control center, little more than a foot wide and less than 3 inches high, incorporates a CD player, AM/FM tuner, switchable access to VCR, tape, or MiniDisc, and two other video inputs. The control center also processes Dolby Pro Logic (encoded on countless videocassettes and TV programs) and Yamaha's Digital Sound Fields. How is it so small? The space-consuming amplification is housed in the subwoofer, which you can easily conceal in an out-of-the-way place. The Yamaha Active Servo Technology amp delivers a total of 200 watts to the system's six speakers through color-coded speaker cables and matching terminals. Yamaha's Digital Sound Field Processing simulates surround environments like concert halls and other live-music venues. The onboard CD player has features like music search, skip play, and repeat play. With the tuner, up to 40 preset AM and FM stations can be grouped in five groups of eight, making it easy for various household members to access their favorite stations. Alternatively, you can group stations playing different music genres. The included 23-key glow-in-the-dark remote can control everything from input selection to the system's handy 7-step display dimmer.
