Summary: Wow. It only costs [price]
Review: After much research, I bought the RT2500. Some key factors in my decision on buying this system were:

1) A huge jack-pack with enough S-Video inputs for my DVD player and my DirecTV Satellite. It's amazing, but in my research, I found a lot of comparably priced systems that did not have S-Video inputs. This one has plenty!

2) I took the advice of one of the other reviewers. I liked the fact that this system has two subwoofer outputs. One of the only receivers I found to have this. I just happened to have an active subwoofer lying around. So I hooked that up to the sub pre-out, and hooked the sub that came with the system up as well. Wow, better bass than I could ever imagine!

3) Price. I wanted a system with a lot of features in the [money] price range. In that range, this was the only one with everything I needed.

After hooking it up, I popped in the shootout scene from Heat. The only thing I could possibly say to describe it is "Wow!" Music sounds great on it, too. It's only been a day, but I'm more than satisfied with my purchase.

Summary: Wow...what a deep and robust sound system and cheap!
Review: After the many positive reviews here, I decided to purchase this system...thanks everyone for the input (especially the "electronics fan from Austin Texas"). This system is amazingly simple to hook up...the most complicated matter was that the receiver was deep enough that I had to operate on my entertainment center. Check your dimensions!

The audio quality is absolutely phenomenal...the 700 watts and the RCA smarts of this system really makes a big difference in the audio quality. When I first set this system up, I had basic RCA style (red, yellow, and white) cables from the dvd player to the receiver...I thought it sounded great already. But then I decided to take advantage of the additional digital optical input the receiver has so I swapped the audio RCA cables with one fiber optic digital optical cable...holy cow! The sound quality is now even better...plus, the surround effect is now perfect. The surround sound goes to each of the 5 speakers EXACTLY as it was meant.

There are some comments in the reviews about boosting the bass by adding another subwoofer...I am sure that is a good idea but for me, I haven't had any problems with the bass.

If you want a great sound system for less than three hundred bucks (I got it from dynadirect), I highly recommend this system...and definitely add the digital optical cable if your dvd player has this type of optional output.

Summary: Excelente Sistema

Summary: This System Rocks!
Review: For the price.... I bought mine at Sam's Club, this system has it all. So easy to hook up, and many many imputs for whatever you need to hook up. I dare not to increase the volume too much for fear of being put out on the street. It's audio is clear, crisp and bold. I highly recommend this system. Its sound is amazing. 5 stars. I'd give it 6 if I could. Buy this product, and you'll be up and running in no time. This truly is a theatre in a box.

Summary: RCA RT 2500, A 700 WATT ...
Review: hey, what's up, if your looking for the best then you've found it, i have the rca rt 2500, and it shreds, its got an am/fm tuner and you can hook all your audio and video stuff up to it. it's cool because you can adjust the vol. to each speaker seperataly, and the sound is killer, it's loud, loud, loud!!! if you go and get an optical wire {sold seperatly] and hook it to your dvd player you will not be disapointed, you'll hear stuff you never heard before. the remote that comes with it is cool too. well that's what i think of this system, if you buy one i'm sure you'll agree with me...!!!!

Summary: Excellent for the money
Review: I am a retired home electronics dealer, and in the past have had plenty of experience with Home Theatre Systems.. My own personal one set me back over 8,000 dollars.. Recently it started to fail, so we decided to replace it.. The RCA RT2500 was a total system in a box, just exactly like RCA stated... It's performance, is Excellent.. When it arrived we decided to set it up in our bedroom instead of the main viewing room for movies etc.. Later to be moved out to the main room, not so, I just purchased my second one to use there.. And just as I thought, WOW, all the big bucks spent years back os seprate goodies, are now well placed in only one A/V Box.. And will it work if you switch it, to a full set of 2 and 3 way power hunger (200-250 watt capable) digital type speakers (15"woofers also), as well as drive a monster Subwoofer, and Dual Front Channel speakers, You Bet.. However hold on to your easy chair, as any bombs, expolsions or the like will not only move you. but you and the chair both.. Simply put if its a war movie,(example) and your there within the fighting action, YOUR THERE sound wise..
Now just what to do with that other full set of speakers and subwoofer, well since I can not find the 2500 for sale by itself.. Here's the next best thing to it, grab a Sherwood either RD7103 or RD7106, and hook them up in your kids or grandkids room, add a DVD n snag all the Disney movies you can get your hands on... Your kids ro G-kids will be engrossed for hours.. The RD7103 will save you some money here...
Which leaves us at one, very good point for the RCA RT2500 and a somewhat bad one for the Sherwoods, the universal remote.. RCA's remote works with anything it states it will, where Sherwoods works with Sherwood products ..
Over all which one would I pick again, the RCA RT2500, even if I have to give the speakers away.. Excellent System, and it easily out preforms most all high dollar units n systems I've listened to or tested out...
Buy one you won't go wrong...

Summary: Tips on Perfectling this awsome system
Review: I am an Surround Sound Expert, I have done everything from headphone amp design, to Surround Sound DSP's
I consult new home builders on how to wire, and hook-up home theatres. They often ask what I have at home, and I tell them this system. (and they can't beleave it's under a $1000)

I have listened to a lot of systems, and this system is the Absolute BEST system you can get for under $2500

The speakers are crystal clear, they can handle un-realistic volume levels without distorting. (I tested this system to 125 decibles! A gun shot is 120db's)

Yes the Sub is a little lacking,
(AND IT IS POWERED and Active, not passive)
Some people get confused because the sub's amplifier isn't inside the Subwoofers casel; it is inside the Receiver
(Open your system up and you will see a HUGE amp that drives the sub)

Want more bass? DON'T REPLACE THE SPEAKERS
(You will never find any speakers that are clearer and as high power as these.)
The system still has a PreAMP subwoofer output.
Go out and buy yourself a second subwoofer and hook it up.
SHIELDED!!!)
