Description:
With vivid picture quality and full-bodied surround sound, KLH's DVZ-2500 is a great starter set for home theater enthusiasts. The system consists of a full-featured DVD player-surround receiver, five compact satellite speakers with 3-inch drivers, and an 8-inch powered subwoofer. The satellites are powered by 25 watts each, and the subwoofer kicks out 50 watts for strong, deep bass. The system offers Dolby Digital 5.1-channel audio decoding, so you can enjoy the full, immersive effects of discrete multichannel surround sound. Optical and coaxial digital-audio outputs are available in case you want to hook the DVD player up with a CD recorder or other component, and composite-video and S-video outputs relay about 500 lines of high-resolution video to your television. While the above outputs are great, it's good to know that the DVZ-2500 does not have any inputs, so you can't hook other components to it. A convenient FM-AM tuner offers 20 station presets. The DVD player offers compatibility with standard disc formats, including DVD-Video, VCD, SVCD, DVCD, CD-R, CD-RW, HDCD, and MP3 CD. Ten-bit video decoding and 96 kHz/24-bit audio decoding ensures quality entertainment, and the system is compatible with PAL as well as NTSC playback (in case you want to watch non-region-encoded discs from Europe and Australia). Parental lock keeps kids from watching discs intended for adults. The satellite speaker dimensions are 5.25 inches high by 3.75 inches deep by 3.5 inches wide; the subwoofer measures 11.4 inches high by 11.4 inches deep by 12.4 inches wide. The system includes a remote control.
