Rating: Summary: Best Value Review: Compared to the similar price units I checked out at local stores, the DV7000 package delivers the best value. I received everything in one package and was very easy to install. I can enjoy my CD music with 6 speaker along with the movies. The speakers are very cute as they hide in my decor. The customers service people where very helpful with custom hook-up to my husband's needs. Recommend this unit to anybody who is considering buying.
Rating: Summary: DVD, Home Theater, and Karaoke! Heavan in a 75 Pound box. Review: I am a big fan of DVDs - but I don't know very much about home audio. My solution, buy a combo home theater and DVD system, with the audio and the DVD already compatiable. In my price shopping this GPX system was the least expensive system I found that had both a quality DVD player and 5.1 Dolby sound. I ordered this system, and after a minor adventure, I found my self with a large box of dreams on my living room floor. The DVD/Home Theater system took about 30 min or so to set up, and was mostly selfexplaintory. The DVD to Sub-Woofer wires were color coded, but the colors on the boxes did not exactly match the wire colors (a quick consultation with the owners guide produced the answer). This system is great. The sound is great, the speakers are unobtrusive and the DVD player is oustanding. One complaint: the Speaker Volume is on a knob, and cannot be controled remotely. But otherwise I found this system to be just what the doctor ordered for the person who likes DVDs.

Rating: Summary: Great price, lots of spaghetti Review: I bought this DVD as my first "home theater". I think it is a great entry level system. Those who wrote that it is easy to install, however, were perhaps being a touch rosy in their statements. The instructions are multiple and it takes a while (at least it took me a while!) to figure out which set to follow. Still, that is a minor gripe. More problematic are the miles of wire to cram behind your TV and to trail across your room if you want the surround sound. My wife complained at the mess... Only about one half to two-thirds of my CD's will play and, easily the most irritating problem, the sound on my DVD's sometimes goes off and it takes a lot of messing around (skipping forwards and back, switching on and off) to get it back. This is a decent system for the price but it is not problem free.

Rating: Summary: An all-in-one solution Review: I picked this system because it was an all-in-one system. It gave me the DVD, the reciever/decoder and the speakers all in one package at one great price. I love it---easy installation and great sound and picture---at a great price. The small speakers are great for limited space. The only think keeping me from a 5 rating is that one of my CDs was not "recognized" by the DVD player (it was a store-bought music CD). But all others where fine and after viewing about 5 DVDs and listening to a few CDs, no problems have been encountered.
Rating: Summary: Just Say NO to GPX Review: I recieved for Christmas a gift of the GPX DV7500(I know that this is the DV7000); however there was not a listing for the DV7500 and I am compelled to let discerning shoppers know what they will get when they buy GPX product. I hooked up the theater system in Janurary and well enjoyed it for the most part. I have read other reviews where they talked about the DVD automatically going to subtitles when left in the player. This does happen. There are times when the remote seemed not to function and then it would. I did notice that at times it acted as if the player was having difficulty reading a disc in a spot even on brand new DVD's. These were minor problems to me. The major problem occured when I went to watch a DVD three nights ago and zap the power failed. I checked the power source and nothing was wrong or out of the ordinary. I became frustrated and discussed the matter with the person that had given me the DV7500. I found out where it had been purchased and called them. They told me that it was something that I would have to take up with GPX and I should consult the manual for a number. So, I did just that; only to find that the number in question was a long distance number. I was not about to pay for a call to a company that in my opinion is selling cheaply manufactured product. Then I thought about going online; seeing if they had a website. Luckily, they were not hidding completely and so I emaied them. I was then informed that I would have to send to them at my expense this broken product that was no longer under warrenty. They also said that I should check around and see if I could obtain a free estimate on fixing the player. Basically saying that it was my problem, but that if I wanted to talk to someone about an exchange I would have to call the long distance phone number. This came to no suprise to me that they are hidding behind this number and not standing up for their product. They know that they are making equipment that works for only 6 months. I did not even have this player for a full year. That is the most alarming thing about this whole event; that I did not even get a full year out of something that should have lasted longer. I think that in the area of consumer concern; I found that the people at GPX have none. I have only had two VHS players in the space of 20 years (the one I currently use is only 5 years old) now they were well built. So the moral to this story is stay as far away from any GPX product; because even though the price seems to be right you will get what you pay for(cheaply manufactured product that will not last you long).
Rating: Summary: An all-in-one solution Review: This is a great way to get home theater into your home at a very reasonable price. I have not used any of the karaoke features of the system, but the surround sound on certain DVDs (The Gift, Sleepy Hollow) would make me swear ghosts are breathing down my neck. The speakers are TINY but could easily be upgraded.
