Rating: Summary: Comes with a great remote control. Sound is good. Review: Just the system I've been looking for because I already own a DVD player but lack a home theater speaker system and also lack space to put big amplifer and speakers. For the price tag, the sound is OK and clear. Easy to setup - just one coaxial line from my player to the main unit. It auto detects the sound format recorded on the disc - be it Dolby Digital, DTS, Dolby ProLogic or plain stereo. Radio reception is very good. With the short antenna, it can receive all the stations better than my old hifi connected to the roof antenna. The remote is a bonus (probably much of the cost goes into this device). It virtually replaced my TV, VCR, DVD and Cable remotes with a few more buttons to spare. I'll probably program my Air-Con remote to it soon :). One thing to watch out for - if a button is already programmed, it becomes difficult to re-program it again. I made a mistake on one of the buttons but failed to correct it subsequently. I found out the hard way that to re-program the button, I have to reset the remote to factory setting - that is totally erase the programs and start all over again.
Rating: Summary: Make sure before you buy... Review: Please make sure before you buy... Some of the specs listed (even on the SHARP website) do not match the product that you buy. The system does not have following features (may not be significant) even though the specs say it has (confirmed calling SHARP customer service). - Separate Subwoofer Volume. - Remote Volume Mute. - Headphone Jack. Based on some of the websites (not SHARP website), this system even have built in DVD-CD drive, which it actually does not have.
