Summary: It's been a major disappointment...
Review: I bought this Koss system as their headphones have been some of the best but this system theater system is a giant leap downward. Major complaint: it simply won't play a dvd unless it is in pristine condition. About half the DVD's we rent won't play all the way through. Second complaint: the remote is not intuitive and thus very confusing. Now I've got to buy a 2nd DVD player so I can watch videos. Look elsewhere!

Summary: Best Value For Your Money
Review: I bought this system a few weeks ago and it is great! It has a lot more features then a lot of other more expansive systems. The sound is great when listing to your TV or playing CD's. The only problem that I have encountered is that there was a slite backround noise when I played DVD's. But this problem went away when I switched to better cables. Overall this is the best value around that you can for your money without breaking the bank.

Summary: Solid for the price!!
Review: I bought this system a year and a half ago and it has started having problems reading audio cds. After watching a dvd stop it and I leave it alone for about 25-30 min. tops when i am in the other room it starts playing again with out haveing me do anything to it. One last thing I experianced some background noise while playing dvds so i changed to a better quallity cable and the background noise improved but did not go away completely.

Summary: Amazing picture and sound for the $$$
Review: I bought this system speculating that it would turn out to be average in every way. I was surprised to find, after much sampling, that this Koss home/theatre deal surpassed systems costing [much] more at local electronic stores. For the $$$ you will save and the high level of quality you will receive this is a really good buy!

Summary: Failure of DVD
Review: I purchased this product from bestbuy in early september 2002 only to have the dvd player stop functioning 5 weeks later, just after best buy stops covering the product. NOw getting ahold of the company is a feat that i doubt anyone can accomplish. They just dont answer their phones, and if you call best buy they give you an incorrect number and won't hear your complaint. don't buy this product, it isn't worth wasting your money on.

Summary: An excellent starter home theatre system.
Review: I purchased this system from Amazon in May.... Arrived in one week via UPS...in great condition. The system was expertly packaged to protect contents. It was easy to assemble and connect it up and was playing dvd's and cd's within an hour!
The best part of this system is the dvd/tuner/receiver... It has plenty of power and features that will make you smile! It is perfect for a small-medium sized room.

If there were an area to criticize... it would be the speakers are a little on the light side... they are adequate, but they don't quite make that great punch that some other speakers have.

It has a small full-function remote that works well once you get used to it... In a nutshell - I think this is the best home theatre sound system for under [$$$] on the market.

Summary: Koss C928 DVD/Receiver Home Theater System (used)
Review: I was shopping for a new receiver when mine broke. I purchased this system used and received a factory boxed system
from the seller. I was amazed that I got a full Home Theater System DVD/CD player for the price of a cheaper receiver alone ! The system is a complete joy to me. I recommend it 100%. It was like by one (Receiver), get three additions to it free. The sound is great and we love using it !

Summary: Bargain price, great features...
Review: I'm really happy with this unit - it has great sound, all the features work just fine, and I really *love* the built in video switcher that makes using it pretty straightforward.
Only negative - KOSS is not listed in my multi-function remote.

Summary: Solid for the price!!
Review: It seemed to be a bargain for the price, but I suspect that I got what I paid for. The unit has quite a few annoying "features": it replays disks exactly 1 hour after you stop them - I found this on the first night when Al Pacino woke me out of a sound sleep after I left the DVD in the player.

The setup IS frustrating because the manual doesn't match the firmware - they changed the user interface and shipped the manual for the old one. The menu system is modal - you have to be in tuner mode to set the clock, that option doesn't appear in CD/DVD mode. Of course the manual tells you to press the "setup" button to get there but the remote has a "menu" button. Bad translations abound... anyone care to move any more of this work offshore (That's probably not fair, how did I expect them to offer this product at this price)?

The eject button doesn't interrupt when you turn the unit on and press eject - the unit still spins the disk all the way up and inspects it for about 15 seconds. Oh, don't even think of putting a mildly scratched CD in it - it doesn't deal with that well at all... sounds like a 33 played on 45.

I'm sending it back because of the 1 hour delay thing and they told me that the 928 is discontinued so they'll be replacing it with the newer model. I can't wait to see what I get with that... - oh and I pay the shipping to them... about 15% of the purchase price - a small system but still 61 pounds.

I wonder if I'm going to wish I had just spent the extra money up front when all is said and done.
