Summary: Outstanding value, great sound
Review: I purchased this system from Fry's when it was on sale for 229.99. The setup was very easy with the color coded wires. The manual was somewhat difficult to understand at first but after rereading the part about speaker setup I was able to dial everything in fairly easily. The sound produced is to my non-audiophile's ears, awesome! I really enjoy the different modes (theater, stadium, etc) that you can cycle through.

The only gripe I have with the system is that while the wires are nicely color coded, they are very low gauge and really ought to be replaced with at least 16ga wire to reduce power loss. But, for an out of the box home theater system, I guess you're lucky that they give you wires at all!

Summary: Low quality sound
Review: I was recently looking at this system compared to the sony HTDDW-750 they were both around 299.00 so I did a side by side comparison. The sound at low volume was about equal but when the sound was turned up the non-powered sub of the kenwood paled in comparison to the powered sub of the sony. I had gone in to buy the kenwood b/c it was on sale for 249.00, but after listening to them I couldn't justify not spending the extra money. It was just to much of a disparity between the systems. So if you want a good starter system I'd spend the extra money you'll be happier in the future.

Review: This product is fantastic.It is very impressive.I am very picky on the sound quality of items that produce sound and this theater system has very clear sound.It has several sound settings to choose from like theater,arena,stadium,(for your movies or tuner)and a couple more.It has settings like disco,music,and jazz(for the tuner part but can be used for movies if you like).This theater system I swear changed the way my heart beats it is so loud.My doors rattled my pics on my wall rattled.My ear drums were vibrating.It Rocks!!!
