Summary: Very fine surround sound system for a good price
Review: In a review of speakers, its obvious that what matters is sound quality. I listened to quite a few similar multi-speaker combo systems before purchasing the JBL. It is way better than either Boston Acoustics or Cambridge Soundworks systems that are priced higher. Its true that there are better systems out there, but for a reasonable price, you can get yourself a good sounding system. If you like classical or jazz the treble is crisp, and if you like rock or rap, trust me, the bass is more than sufficient to shake your house. In addition, the subwoofer is a tasteful deep black, and the satellite speakers are quite inconspicuous. The JBL SCS125 can be integrated into your sound space nicely and easily fills the space with deep, rich sound. You be the judge and go listen yourself, then get this system and have enough cash left over to get a new component!

Review: My roommate purchased these speakers and I must admit that I was very disappointed with the sound when listening to music. I much rather listen to my car audio system for music.I rented a couple of movies and took the time to adjust the gains, delays and tune controls on the receiver and was suprised with what I heard. When used for home theater, it is actually a good system. Not as good as another friend's Klipsch but it is less than HALF the price. If you are budget minded and already have speakers for music, this system is a good home theater system.

Review: Pros: TINY SATELLITES- satellite speakers the smallest I've seen, comparable to Bose, without the Bose price. GOOD PRICE- You have to look very hard to find a system like this with a powered sub for the same money. EXCELLENT DEEP BASS- powered subwoofer cranks. Hope you don't have any downstairs neighbors! COMES WITH SPEAKER WALL BRACKETS- don't discount this! Many home theater systems don't come with these and you can pay 50$ a pair for wall mounts, if you can find some that fit your speakers. Cons: DOESN'T COME IN WHITE- Why are white speaker systems so hard to find? OK, this is a minor point, but if JBL is going to make the spkrs so tiny, and you're going to the trouble of installing this system, why not go all the way? LACKS MIDRANGE- with the tiny satellite size comes a compromise in midrange sound reproduction. SATELLITES HAVE SPECIAL SPEAKER WIRE PLUGS- so if you are not going to use the speaker wires that come with the system (and they are kind of small gauge) you will have to do some splicing. SUBWOOFER DOES NOT HAVE AUTO ON/OFF- OK, I'm nit-picking.

Review: the scs125 sounds good but! the amp has a defect the amp gos out after a couple of years and jbl does not back it after two years.i have been looking for 8 months that is all i hear . the sub woofer has a defect. SORRY ERIC

Review: This is a nice above-average home theatre speaker system. Thesatellites are fairly powerful and easy to hide if necessary. I agreethat they do lack the midrange of the more expensive systems. I replaced the center channel satellite with an Infinity center channel speaker (this is by no means a must). The small subwoofer offers plenty of punch. The only really bad thing I can say is that I have had trouble with the speaker wires. Three of the connectors have gone bad. It's not easy to replace them since they are JBL-type connections. If you can't spend $1000 then I would recommend this system to anyone. END

Summary: Don't buy for music reproduction.
Review: This system is at best adequate for Home Theatre in a smaller room. The center speaker, the identical match to the front and rear satellites is devoid of ability to reproduce understandable dialogue. For music, this system is totally lacking in any mid range. A big hole is left in the sound stage mid ranges between an OK tweeter and very boomy bottom end. Do not be fooled by its good looks and solid construction, for even the best amplification will not hide its shortcomings.

Summary: Nice, small... but small
Review: This system is really nice. Powerful satellite, easy to hide. But it lacks midrange which I think is very important for movies. Anyhow, the compact powerful sub does the job very well. Except for its left and right input in the back for which I would of like to only have a single input since I connect it to a A/V receiver, it is a well worth system.
