The FS-8000 features a champagne-colored aluminum faceplate, a top-loading, motor-driven CD door, and a 13-watt-per-channel amplifier/tuner with three-mode gain control.The speakers form the heart of this system. Within the European cherry wood enclosures sit four-layer edgewise-wound voice coils and an 8-inch, 60-watt bass reflex subwoofer. The four-layer voice coils enable the speakers to handle considerable power, and the shielded bass reflex enclosures let you place the speakers directly under, over, or adjacent to a TV screen with no visible distortion. The FS-8000's one-bit digital-to-analog converter, optical digital output, motor-driven volume control, and electronic bass and treble controls all contribute to the system's clear tone. A range of digital soundscapes is at your beck and call, and Active Hyper-Bass Super Pro gives low frequencies a boost while minimizing distortion. The FS-8000's CD player can sequence up to 20 tracks. Included in the package are a standing, full-function remote control; an auxiliary input; and a subwoofer output.
