Rating: Summary: summer flick at its best Review: Even though it's been over a year since this movie has been released, I still find myself watching it over again and having fun. It's just an all-around fun movie. It's got everything... edge-of-your-seat suspense, creative action scenes, humor, romance, car chases... leaps from tall buildings... Anyway, who cares if the plot was, well, incredibly far-fetched. It's a summer movie. That's how summer movies just are. Matter of fact, the plot *better* be far-fetched! I want to be entertained! And Entrapment does just that. I've seen this movie 11 times since it was first released and every time I have just a little more fun than the last time. I say see the movie, but don't take it too seriously, you'll hurt yourself. Just sit back and be entertained. What more could you ask for?
Rating: Summary: Best Film of 1999! Review: Entrapment is at once a classic. Cathrine Zeta Jones & Sean Coneray give the best performances of their careers in this highly suspenseful picture. I went to see this with my oldest nephew and we liked it so much we saw three times in the theater. What really surprised me was that it didn't any get good ratings & wasn't nominated for an Oscar or Golden Globe. Hands Down this is the best film of 1999.
Rating: Summary: Amazing Movie! Review: I saw this movie about 2 weeks ago and I was amazed. Catherine Zeta Jones and Sean Connery are amazing together. The plot is about a thief Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta Jones who together try to steal billions of dollars from a bank in a foreign bank for there own benefit. What happens at the end? You'll have to watch it first. This movie will keep you at the edge of the seat! Guaranteed!
Rating: Summary: What a dissapointment Review: The DVD itself is quite nice With a nice graphical display and neat interactive menus. Unfortunate the movie itself dissapoints. There have been many better movies in this type of Genre. Goodness, later in 1999 we had a better movie in the same vein when a remake of _The Thomas Crown Affair_ hit the theatres. Sean Connery did well enough, but I just couldn't suspend my disbelief to make it through the plot, or to believe in Catherine Zeta-Jones' character. If you are a Connery fan, and thought _Medicine Man_ was good then get this movie, otherwise I really cannot reccommend this film.
Rating: Summary: Inexcusably lame script and story Review: A real disappointment. Compared to the writing/plot in Thomas Crown Affair, this was amateurish and suffered from glaring plot failures and lack of continuity. WARNING: THE FOLLOWING DIVULGES PLOT: Supposedly, the FBI has spent years targeting Catherine Zeta Jones to try and catch her for her thieving ways. However, the FBI then stands by and watches her commit two thefts worth $100 MILLION, on the plot theory that they are waiting to catch her in the act. What?! So, $100 million in stolen property is not enough to arrest her?! This is so inane and so intellectually insulting that it spoils the movie. Then, we have the "big" heist at the end, which is just, well, lame. The computer heist is uninteresting, leaving us with the escape. But this gets annoying. First, we see that this multi-billion bank has NO security guards in the most sensitive part of the entire building (yeah, right). Then, we watch the escaping theives have a one-half inch steel cable snap under their weight ?! Oh please! That cable could have supported a Ford Explorer. And the Zeta Jones getaway at the end -- again completely inane. We are to believe that the FBI, after years of tracking her, send the Three Stooges to guard her after she is caught? "Gee Moe, there goes our suspect!" "After her, ya lamebrain, or I'll pulverize ya." "Sorry Larry, nyuck, nyuck, nyuck." Wow, who would have thought that she would try to make a run for it? And when she does, the FBI agents just disappear. Really amateurish writing, again, which really ruins the movie. Finally, the chemistry between Connery and Zeta Jones was completely missing. Again, watch Thomas Crown Affair to see great writing/directing of passion. This movie just fizzled when it came to the love interest. And, at the end when Zeta Jones is waiting for Connery at the station, there is an expressionless look on her face - she could just as easily have been waiting for an order of pancakes. Don't know if this was terrible directing or terrible acting -- in any event it was BAD. I was really diappointed in this movie, as I am a HUGE fan of Connery and Zeta Jones.
Rating: Summary: An Instant Classic Action- Adventure Thriller- Terrific. Review: Great fun. I loved every minute of this movie.Marvelous acting by Sean Connery, Catherine Zeta-Jones[my favorite actress]and Will Patton. Ving Rhames and Maury Chaykin-awfull. Perfect for the entire family.
Rating: Summary: Not so good Review: I saw this movie on a flight between Las Vegas and Chicago. The turbulance over the desert was the only real thrill I felt. This movie and being stuck between the aisle and window seat - now that's entrapment.
Rating: Summary: A Great Action movie....Once in a lifetime occurrence. Review: How can you not love Catherine Zeta Jones? She's smart and sexy. Emphasis on the later. She plays an intelligent woman that tries to catch crook Sean Connery at his own game. Or is she the thief? The action film "Entrapment" follows these two sly criminals through bigger and bigger heist along with a ton of plot twist. Turns out that Jones plays both fields, hoping to nab Connery while also having a love for stealing fine art. But you have to wake up pretty early in the morning to fool this old man. He puts Jones through obstacles to prove herself not only a master thief, but trustworthy. Of course, they fall in love, which only adds to the chaos. The story is not that original with you not knowing who is the crook and who is the cop and who gets away and with what. Basically it is a many deal of double crossing and the two putting each other through entrapment, or is it blackmail? The film is basically a fun action piece. Not very deep but just an enjoyable movie. Probably one of the best like it. The film isn't dumbed down or hard to follow. It's pitch perfect.
Rating: Summary: Action as it should be! Review: I hadn't seen a good action flick for a long time until I saw Entrapment. The movie has many action scenes that will keep you on the edge of your seat! Mr. Connery outdid himself with this one, and the beautiful Catherine Zeta-Jones stole the spotlight with her charisma. Like every action flick, it leans toward the unrealistic, especially a scene in which they're dangling from a 78-floor building, but that's what makes it fun to watch. There are several plot twists that will keep you wondering what will happen next, and you will always be surprised. Entrapment is a must-see and a must-keep!
Rating: Summary: Great Movie, SE needs work Review: OK, let me start by saying that I loved the movie enough to spend the extra money to get the SE. The transfer to DVD is excellent and the DD 5.1 sound track is great. What I was disapointed in was the SE features. Oh yes there are 2 deleted scenes and an alternet ending WITH OUT a sound track. The chase scene DOES have the sound effects but no dialog. Overall I feel like I've been RIPPED OFF! If this is the way SE's will be done in the future I will stay away from them and buy the Standard Edition.
