Summary: Great acting, dialog and plot
Review: The movie is does not *glorify* criminals - it is about redemption. When one criminal repents he is saved - when the other does not, look what happens. It's about terrible people who are given a second chance in life - a boxer, a hit-man, a mob boss's girlfriend. The violence is necessary to illustrate that even the most terrible people can reflect and be redeemed.

PS - The gold in the briefcase is his soul.

Summary: the roman colosseum in 20th century garb.
Review: It was comforting to read a few negative reviews of this vile film...I truly thought I was alone in my assessment of this moral mess...but what was most disturbing was the audience reaction. It was not possible to escape the imagery of the roman colosseum where human suffering was looked upon as an entertainment event. It was so disheartening. Yes, we can explain it in the "only a movie" terms..or "don't you get a satire when you see one"..heh, I guess not. Young people really don't "think" about the trash they allow themselves to digest. Even my own daughters enjoyed the movie. Pulp fiction damed itself on every level, but most especially in terms of its shallowness. I had recently seen "The Player(s)" and was strongly reminded of the ridiculous "group" writing that it claimed is a hallmark of Hollywood motion pictures

Summary: A defining piece of culture . . . and a wonderful film
Review: Pulp Fiction is a great movie. It's one of those rare films that defines the culture of the generation it was released to. It uses a wonderful story and some of the best dialogue ever written (by Quentin Tarantino, the master of dialogue) to tell a gripping story of honor and redemption among criminals. Fraught with religious symbolism and incredible film-making, Pulp Fiction is the defining film of the 90s. It has a ton of style and is one of those movies people will always remember.

Summary: Painfully overrated
Review: Fargo, The English Patient and Pulp Fiction; the three most painfully overrated films of the 90's. What a sad waste of some truly fine actors. Once was more than enough, thank you.

Summary: What was in the briefcase?
Review: Anyone want to speculate on what was in the briefcase that Travolta and Jackson retrieved from Bret's apartment?

Any correlation between the Band-Aid on the back of Wallace's neck and the bright light eminating from the open briefcase?

Feedback?

Summary: The #1 movie of the 90's
Review: Tarantino's got it! His movies all made to the top of the bests, but Pulp Fiction is his best one. It's nothing like any other movies and it's so good and fresh. At first it's a little bit hard to follow the story, but soon we stick to the characters and the cool story. It's my favourite movie and I guess it will be yours too!

Go rent it... or buy it!!

Summary: Overrated, Overly shocking, and Over hyped.
Review: Did I really need to witness an anal rape in close detail? I think not. Is there a moral to this film? Criminals are made to look like heroes here and it sickens me. Tarantino is a hack with some good ideas and the film was stylish and interesting but tries too hard to be hip at the same time. I don't think crime films should be hip, should crime be fashonable? Of course not. Pulp Fiction is good enough to watch but not to worship like some people do. Three stars is generous if you ask me. Most people that have the slightest problem with a film will rate it one star so at least I'm fair.

Summary: The Movie that's the 90's
Review: This Movie is not the 90's Best Movie, this Movie is the 90's in itself. It's a cinematographic equivalent of Sampling and Remixes. Firstly, because of its structure. Secondly because it remixes elements from Godard (Anna Karina-like hairdressing of Uma Thurman, the Twist Contest scene which is borrowed from Band Apart), Woo ( the final robbery), Cimino (the watch scene parodies Deer Hunter) etc .... You know where the scenes come from but, instead of looking like a compilation, it creates a personal work. To conclude, we should praise this movie for not posing as a classic although it is one : it doesn't care for its place in the Hall of Fame and manages to reflect the 90's mood, just like Breatheless did it for the 60's.

Summary: A great film!
Review: This type of movie was made for a certain type of people. Although I can't exactly say what that group of people is, you'll get what I mean if/when you see it.

Pulp Fiction is one of the most creative and entertaning movies of the 1990s. It stands apart from most crime dramas/action flicks ever made, and is definately a treat. Some accuse it of having no plot, and no heart and sould. So? Is it not a great feast for the eyes and mind still? Great Story line (or lack thereof) and great acting.

This may sound odd, but PULP FICTION changed my life. I saw it when I was 15...4 years ago. At that time, I was still trying to figure out where my life was going and what I wanted to do in and post-high school. After seeing PULP, I realised that I wanted to do that...I WANTED TO BE A FILM MAKER!! I had never seen anything like PULP, and I still haven't. But, after seeing it, I realised that there is more out there than what was in front of my face. Everything from movies, to comic books, to music seemed different. After seeing PULP FICTION, I was much more willing to go out and see new forms of art and experience new things. The Theater, Literature, and Indie and Forgein film all seemed much more appealing after this movie. I hope one day I can do a movie like this (not in subject matter, but instead in value of quality).

Summary: Pulp Fiction:Masterpiece!(Bring Out the Gimp)
Review: This movie is one of the best films in the history of American cinema. The way Tarentino pieced the film together is definetly something new, original and interesting. Every actor and actress in the film did a fine job, and Tarentino did a spectacular and artistic job on the direction. He really proves that he is one of the best writers and directors in industry today(Reservior Dogs and Jackie Brown are both great). Even the soundtrack was great, and the dialogue was interesting and very funny. I could go on and on about how great this movie is,but I will recommend that anyone who wants to buy this, buy the Collector's Edition which shows deleted scenes hosted by Tarentino himself. This movie has everything. People who think this film is horrible or stupid should take a look at the AFI 100. Hats off to everyone involved in the film, even the Gimp,Zed, and Maynard who all deserved to die(that scene is hiliarious!).
