Summary: A Masterpiece
Review: Brian De Palma's "Scarface" is one of the greatest gangster films of all time. It is wonderfully stylish and gritty.Al Pacino is ruthless and intense. The screenplay by Oliver Stone is wonderfully crafted with some really interesting characters. This is an amazing study of the underworld of crime. "Scarface" reaches a level of powerful movie making that few films capture. It is, one of the only gangster films that equals to "The Godfather." The score by Giorgio Moroder (Midnight Express) is equally effective and thrilling. This is also, a film of images. Everything has a touch of style. The costumes, the sets, the people, all are full of style. I have seen "Scarface" dozens of times and it never fails to give it's impact. It is realistic in the way it portrays the mob underworld and solves the problem where the bad guy doesn't need to be a hero. "Scarface" is a powerful masterpiece.

Summary: Scarface is my favourite movie.
Review: Scarface is my favourite movie and one of the better drama movies ever made.Directed by Brian De Palma in 1983 is the story of a Cuban refugee,Tony Montana-Al Pacino-,who thaught that he can take anything he wanted.Al Pacino at his best performance, encarnates with very peruasiveness Tony who begins as dish-washer, he becomes drugdealer and from there emperor of cocaine. The script, written by Oliver Stone,is very different from Ben Hecht's of 1932 Scarface with Paul Muni, although the movie is based on it.Scarface was criticised for some very violent scenes. Al Pacino is impressive as he uses drugs and you think that he does it for real.De Palma's work is excellent from the beginning to the end.He knows to handle the camera with a wonderful way.One of the betters scenes is the one that Tony looks up the sky and sees the sign-board "THE WORLD IS YOURS" on an airship.Giorgio Moroder's synth score is superior and for me the composer's best work.Don,t miss it.

Summary: Who wants realism?
Review: Al Pacino plays the drug dealer brilliantly. The constant use of the 'F' word, the disgusting personal habits, the constant betrayals by the underworld members of each other make this movie as close to realistsic as one would want. In reality criminals are scum and Scorcese is one of the few directors willing to portray criminals as individuals with no redeeming value. For this I would give the movie 5 stars. The only problem is I don't go to the movies for reality, I go to get entertained. If criminals shooting women and chainsawing competitors is your idea of entertainment go for it. It's not mine. I give it two stars. And only because Pacino is so perfect.

Summary: Nothing Could Match This Flick!
Review: This movie was a prescedent for movie history... I don't have any confidence there will be another movie to match the magnificent and ironic plot that was captured and created by the writer (the 1930's version as well as the 1980's version). The powerful yet telling tale was carefully and geniously portrayed to the audience. It was carried out consistently and carefully. It only saddens me there could never be another story measuring up to the superb capacity this film has met!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: AL PACINO'S GREATEST
Review: If you're like me, and you've seen this movie already, you can't help but memorize every line in this movie. This movie is beyond captivating, the characters virtually become you're family. Tony is portrayed as a gangster, but you'll think he's the hero. The great thing about the dvd version is all the extra scenes that are not in the vhs version. Scarface is an epic film, a movie that becomes part of your life forever.
