Summary: Gets off the starting line, but falls short of finish line
Review: THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS is a movie with an assortment of far-fetched ingerdients that combine to make up a far-fetched plot. It offers beautiful cars and obnoxious characters who combine for some impressive racing / getaway / highway-jacking scenes.

In the end, however, there is one genuinely worthwhile reason to see this movie: Vin Diesel. This is the first movie I've seen him in and I was quite taken with his acting style. He has an exceptional screen-presence, especially for a relative newcomer to the acting guild. The jury is still out on whether Diesel can play more than just a tough-guy, but even if he can't, he still plays that role very well. I'm looking forward to seeing him in TRIPLE-X.

Beyond Diesel's theatrical performance, the film does not offer a whole lot. The "hero" of the movie is a cop who is less likeable than the "villain" (played by Diesel). He also non-chalantly breaks the #1 rule in a policeman's code-of-conduct: never EVER commit an crime with the efficacy of enforcing a law. But oh, well, this is Hollywood.

If you want a far superior movie in the fast car genre, I would recommend GONE IN 60 SECONDS. To me, it was far more satisfying than this one.

Summary: No Man's Land is better, even though that's 10+ years older
Review: If you like cool cars, hot chicks, and don't really care much about the story/characters, this is a great movie to watch.

If you like the setup of this movie, but want to see better character development, more believeable story, check out 'No Man's Land' (D.B Sweeney, Charlie Sheen). oh, it also got nice cars (mostly Porsche :D)

Summary: Chick flick with hot chicks.
Review: The dialogue is horrible, the acting is poor, and the technical flaws are amazing. The most irritating thing about this movie is it tries to elevate some of the slowest cars on the roads today to not only sportscars, but supercars. The Honda Civic? Please. I love the old Charger, but 900hp? And it still can't beat the Civic?! The movie also features floorboards that fly off when the engine is under stress, engines that heal themselves after blowing, and special effects that make 140mph look like the sound barier. The movie is not without its perks, though, as it was entertaining. Good looking women are the best feature of the movie, which is ironic because more women will enjoy this movie than car-knowledgable dudes.

Summary: Does Hollywood recycle plots?
Review: Ohhh yes. I knew I had seen this movie before. But the first time it was surfing. The main actor's voice even sounded like Keano Reeves.

Summary: Bottom Line...Diesel and Walker, need I say more?
Review: This movie is just what its suppose to be. Its filled with fast cars, hot guys and tough chicks. The story line reminds me Point Break. Ya know the whole cop going undercover to find the crooks and getting in tangled in their lives so much he doesnt want to let it go. But I loved Point Break and I loved The Fast and the Furious. Vin Diesel and Paul Walker are exceptionally hot and and Michelle Rodriguez does what she does best...acts like a tough chica who can hang just as well as the guys. I recommend this movie to anyone who is looking for an adrenalin ride of fun.

Summary: Fabulous movie for the Custom Car enthusiast!
Review: This movie is too awesome! We have watched it over and over again. Most of all, the cars in the movie were really cool. When you show cars like this like we do, it is nice to see a movie about them. The acting in the movie was good and had good morals, even though the ending could use a sequel.

Summary: awesome !!!
Review: This movie was one of my most inspirational movies I've ever scene. I love cars and I have been racing them for the past few years. Racing cars is like a huge adrenaline rush and watching this movie was the same. It has all the fun and games I love like, cute guys and fast cars.

Summary: Ladies and gentlemen, the ULTIMATE MTV MOVIE...
Review: You heard me right. I figure the only way Rob Cohen could have made this any more MTV-ish would be to give Ja Rule an on-screen cameo, which he did. Hackneyed editing, frantic cinematography, bright colors, young actors, hot girls and a blazin' hip-hop soundtrack solidify this film as a generation Xer's dream come true. Is it a great movie? Hardly. Is it entertaining? Oh, you betcha.

Paul Walker stars as a pretty boy undercover cop who infiltrates Vin Diesel's gang of street racers to get to the bottom of a series of truck robberies. Along the way, he falls for Jordana Brewster, who just so happens to be Vin Diesel's little sister, and is told by Vin, "You break her heart, I'll break your neck."
Yikes. But while the plot may be a little tired and cliche, it's not what keeps you engrossed. It's the cars. This is by far the "fastest" movie I've ever seen, so the title of the film isn't any kind of understatement. And after watching this, you'll want to fire up your beat up Neon and punch it to 120 on the freeway. I know I wanted to.

The four stars of this movie have already been featured in movies before, so don't expect to find any breakthrough performances here. However, this is the film which made them Hollywood superstars ala "the Fast and the Furious" becoming the sleeper hit of the year. Paul Walker turns in an okay performance as the hero cop with a confused sense of morality. Vin Diesel is... Vin Diesel as the anti-hero. Don't hold your breath for any lifetime achievement awards in the future for this guy. Jordana Brewster turns in a pretty good performance, though. But it's Michelle Rodriguez, a sexy chick with a lot of spunk, who steals the movie. Ted Levine of "Buffalo Bill" fame also makes an appearance as Walker's superior officer, who heroically won't let Walker smoke a cigarette. Yup, that's the gist of it.

I'd recommend buying this DVD because it looks great, sounds great and has a plethora of bonus features. The film itself won't ever win any major awards (except for maybe the MTV movie of the year award), but it's probably one of the most entertaining films I've seen all year. When the sequel hits theaters, I'll check that out as well.

Summary: THE MOST KICK... MOVIE OF 2001
Review: I was a little unsure about all the previews but the film blew me away. Never before had i seen more amazing stunt and effect work at this level for this type action movie. I thought that the story was dead on and the race scenes off the meter. you can't help but give props to the cast, crew and director for taking such a risk with this inovative film subject.

Summary: English DTS is in French!
Review: Cool cars, beautiful people but no storyline to speak of, no character development & if you choose English DTS, all you get is Dolby Surround-Sound!
