Summary: Honor and loyalty among thieves
Review: A father and son assemble a six man crew to pull off what was thought to be a routine jewel hiest. Each man was given a different name to conceal thier identities from each other. But when a simple robbery turns into a bloody ambush the thieves realize one of them is a police informant. As the crew returns to an abandoned warehouse they begin to piece together the puzzle in an attempt to discover the traitor.This film was perfectly cast. Harvey Keitel as the veteran thief and Micheal Madsen as the brutal killer. But Steve Buscemi stole the show as "Mr. Pink" with his one liners and paranoia. This film has it all and will grip you to your television from begining to end. The film is presented in wide and full screen. However the only downside to this disc is that it only includes a theatrical trailer.

Summary: Taut, Edgy Thriller Makes You Laugh AND Squirm.
Review: This was the first film directed by Quentin Tarantino. It showcased his deceptively simplistic approach to his script, and his masterful non-linear timeline (which he pushed even further with "Pulp Fiction,") which serves up a dish of suspense and tension that is on par with a similar "heist-gone-wrong" film, "The Killing" by Stanley Kubrick. You never know when some of the characters will just "go off" and shoot someone, and that kind of balancing act (between calmness and insanity) keeps the adrenaline flowing nicely throughout. Harvey Keitel, who helped produce this film out of development hell, is the main beneficiary of the script. He plays a grizzled veteran at the heist game who is a fatherly-type, especially in the tense situations that follow. Steve Buscemi is a fireball of paranoia and panic, and Michael Madsen is the cool but brutal killer. Tim Roth is exceptional as a man forced to confront his own mortality as he must deal with the bleeding gunshot wound he sustained in the robbery. Every role is outstanding. Every scene is electric. If action is your game, deal yourself in and buy this film.

Review: The best way to view this movie is watch the "Full frame" version on side B. The "letterbox" version adds very little on two sides and simply cropped off the top and bottom.

Summary: Quite possibly the best Cops n Robbers movie ever.
Review: Reservoir Dogs is a thoroughly entertaining and gripping movie that I would have to reccomend unconditionally to any Action movie fan. It's intense throughout, as soon as the opening credits are over the grisly reality of a foiled robbery begins and Quentin Tarantino leads us on a suberb ride trying to find out who the rat in the "Dogs" is. This movie features some of the best actors of it's time, including Micheal Madsen, Tim Roth, Harvey Keitel, and Sean Penn. All play there roles with intensity and enthusiasm unmatched in any Action film of it's time. They all do a extremely fine job in the ending, with Harvey Keitel and Tim Roth putting in a splendid performance. This movie is a landmark in Crime films and is the film by which all other Crime films that followed should be judged upon. A classic, in every aspect.

Review: I would like to know why people, myself included, will always associate this with The Usual Suspects (which is more entertaining). At least in the aspect that when one is mentioned, someone will say "Have you seen (the other one)" Anyway, this is okay, I am not one who particulary enjoys Tarentino's style, but this is watchable.

Summary: stunning, innovative, and very cool.
Review: This was tarantinos breakout movie. This and pulp fiction are his best. both equally brilliant. The cast is soo cool. harvey kietel stole the whole show as Mr. White. Micheal Madeson was great as the psychotic Mr. Blonde. Hes so mean he cuts a guys ear off. This whole cast as a matter of fact is game, no slackers at all just like in all tarantino flicks. The whole movie centers around a botched robbery and figuring out who the cop is. the movie jumps around is completely non-linear which makes it a lot better. Great dialouge as is usual with tarantino movies. Lots of great scenes. Tarantinos direction is top notch for the most part, occasionaly bad camera placement but the movie is still amazing. Plus everything is just cool in this movie. very cool. Lots of dark humor interspersed as well. Overall one of the 90's best and most innovative films.

Summary: Compelling, brutal....but consider the R2 DVD as well.
Review: An original film that portrays the lead up and consequences of a heist by several larger than life criminals on a collision course. Superb cast and great performances. Steve Buscemi in particular stands out. The script is also excellent, and Tarantino often employs the flashback style of editing that Kurosawa pioneered in Rashomon. In fact this film resembles Rashomon (out on Criterion soon) in a number of ways. One important point: this R1 DVD is non-anamorphic and in 5.1 sound. The R2 is only in 2.0 stereo, but has a superb (and I mean *outstanding*) anamorphic transfer. I would favour the latter (if your DVD player is multi-region) as the soundtrack is really speech driven without any spectacular sound effects to show off the 5.1.

Summary: A Breath of Fresh Air for Crime Film Fans.
Review: "Reservoir Dogs" is the most Original Crime/Thriller in Years, it has had Many, Many Imitators since it's Early 90's release, and yet it still holds the Most Original title. Quentin Tarantino Writes, Directs and Acts in this Timeless "Honour among Thieves" Classic, which is also his Directorial Debut. Harvey Kietel stars a Mr White, one of 6 Professional Thieves hired for a Diamond Heist. Though we never get to See the actual Robbery, we do see the Aftermath. Dead Cops, Dead Criminals, Untrusting Survivors. As the Surviving Criminals hold up in a Warehouse Waiting for the Mastermind to come and Tell them what to Do, they start to think a Snitch may be among them and they try to figure out whom it may be. Michael Madsen as Mr Blonde, Tim Roth as Mr Orange, Steve Buscemi as Mr Pink, Chris Penn as Nice Guy Eddie. They all give Startling Performances. Madson creates one of Cinemas Greatest Psychopaths, Cool, Calculating and Crazy. The Story is obviously Simplistic, and has been done to death over the years, but Quentin makes it, and the whole genre, Utterly Fresh, Real and Unbelievably Entertaining. Quentin's Writing and Directing seem to have Years of Experience behind them, while also having the freshness and youth of a Debut writer/director. What more can one say about this classic that millions of other fans haven't. If you've seen it, see it again, if you haven't, what have you been doing?

Summary: TARANTINO DEBUTS WITH STRENGTH AND STYLE
Review: Quentin Tarantino used to work in a video store, dishing out movies he loved. At night he would return to his home to work on his screenplays for movies he hoped he could direct some day. Fanally, after years of struggle, he breaks out with Reservoir Dogs, a smart and exciting look a strangers involved in a diamond heist. Now everyone stands out in the film, and no one really overshadows anyone, which seems impossible with a cast ensemble of great actors. Steve Buscemi, is quick and smart as mr.pink, adding always a little comic relief. The story jumps around quickly, from present to past, and we slowly see the story of a cop who infiltrates a gang of robbers only to end up losing his life. Tarantino proves in his first film that crime can be exciting, and ironic, but there are never winners. A strong film.

Summary: The best movie of all time
Review: Reservior Dogs was one of my all time favorite movies. Harvey Kietel is excellent. I think you willl find most interest and quality in michale Madsens Mr. Blonde. It is a twisted film as well.
