Summary: Great Wesley Snipes performance.
Review: The story is not very unique - you have seen it before in "scar face" and you can clearly anticipate what's going to happen next. This is a ruthless movie of a small rookie's rise and fall. Nino makes it "big" by being more brutal then the other guys.... he has a group of followers who are loyal to him as long as he does not cross the line, but as always, success is blinding and Nino makes his mistakes (the moral lesson is as usual - if you are already a crook...don't indulge in the crime of vanity). We don't have Michelle Pfeifer in this movie (actually the woman characters are not very impressive) but we do have a group of beautiful afro-American actors led by the amazing Wesley snipes and Ice-T. Good music and a fast, cruel pace with the most powerful street characters.

Summary: Crack Game=Exposed!
Review: There is only one force to be reckoned with in the city: Nino Brown, played brilliantly by Wesley Snipes. There are two cops hot on his trail, Nick Peretti and Scotty Appleton {played by Judd Nelson and rapper-turned-actor, Ice-T}. With pressure from the Govenor as well the streets, Stone {Melvin Van Peebles} gambles on Appleton and Peretti, two street-wise cops that are crazy enough to take the job, if they could just along with each other. Brown along with his brother, G-Money {Allen Payne} and his other ruthless co-hort, Duh Duh Man {Bill Nunn} have formed the CMB or "Cash Money Brothers", a ruthless, lucrative crack-cocaine empire that has the city on lockdown. (spoiler)Moral of the story: Crime doesn't pay.-- Be sure to look for cameo appearances by: Troop, LeVert, Keith Sweat, Guy, Public Enemy and Fab 5 Freddy. This movie also boasts a banging soundtrack, featuring "New Jack Hustler: Nino's Theme," performed by Ice-T, songs by Johnny Gill, Keith Sweat, Color Me Bad, Christopher Williams, etc. You have got to see this movie!!!

Summary: All around very goo d film.
Review: This film has it all. The pace is superb with a suspense-action mix. The subject matter is exceptionally interesting, with a good message to it. The acting is at its very best. Wesley Snipes is pure evil. Very sad and real at times, but the ending wraps everything up into a nice little package. I have to say it is one of the best gang/gangster film out there. But, with each movie of this kind, you have a different time and place in history. Making the genre very hard to pick a best from.

Summary: One of the Best Gansta Movies I've Seen
Review: This is a good movie. Ice-T is not the best actor in the world but he holds his own. Snipes is excellent in this movie. Buy the Movie as it is well worth money!

Summary: Extra-violent gangster film
Review: This street-wise action drama can be very favourably compared to the best that the genre has offered: "Goodfellas", "Reservoir Dogs" and "Scarface" -- (to which, in one scene, it pays homage.) Wesley Snipes is convincing as the drug kingpin Nino Brown and Mario Van Peebles, Judd Nelson and Ice T provide solid support. A splendid cocktail of furious action and gritty attitude.

Summary: Non stop
Review: Very entertaining movie. I'm convinced that Wesley Snipes can play any role.

Summary: A great movie with a stellar cast and an anti-drug message
Review: Wesley snipes is great as the ruthless Nino Brown. Ice T gives a good performance as a crazy cop who is determined to bring him down. Chris Rock, Judd Nelson, and others give this movie an esemble cast to die for! It's anti-drug message is portrayed through the downfall of Nino's underworld empire. It's portrayal of why people are drawn to drugs is also good, because if there is no market, there is no product. A great movie all around!!!!

Summary: Snipes Truly Rises to the Occasion!
Review: Wesley Snipes' mantel would have an Oscar on it for his dynamic performance as Nino Brown. Also, more roles should have come to Chris Rock for his standout job as Pookie. Allen Payne as Gee Money scores, too.

A stellar soundtrack featuring Keith Sweat, Johnny Gill, Queen Latifah, and many others adds significantly to the movie.

Summary: Flawed but still powerful
Review: When it comes to cinema, I'm a tough critic. I look for credible performances, a lasting effect, strong writing, originality, and subtlety for a movie to be superlative. Well, NJC fits the first two aspects. It does sag at times, occassionally becoming pretentiously melodramatic. However Snipes is absolutely spectacular in his intelligent, unforgettable role as a ruthless druglord. The dialouge is equally terrific. Note that this film is not without humor; it is sometimes darkly funny while at the same time frightening. Don't worry about novelty in this case since this is an important film for all, even children, to really comprehend the dangers drugs have on people, how manipulative and calculating dealers are, and how kingpins are always wanted by the law.
