Summary: Babes in Trouble
Review: Have to admit one of the most redeeming qualities of this dark little film is the cast is made up of some damn fine looking guys! Me and some girlfriends have a really good treat marveling at how these guys are such dimwits while they're making us drool. Misogyny in reverse you could say. Someone kidnaps Avery's kid sister Alice and he and his friends come up with a stupid, stupid, can we say STU-PID? scheme to get her back unharmed. Then they find out she has lost her finger. These dumb honeys kidnap Chris Walken of all people and tie him to a chair. Are they suicidal or just plain stupid? Hence the title. These delectable young psycos are so dumb that Walken spends the movie twisting stuff around until he has them all dizzy and mixed up and fooled! Great eye candy, great story, and Dennis Leary rocks. As for TK and Max, come here you fine young things, come to Aunty Sharon. Oh yeah you can sit on my lap I wont mind!

Summary: Good, very good -- but not great
Review: SUICIDE KINGS was a 'let's see' movie for me: Friday night, house to myself, no commitments other than whatever I wanted to watch. Being a Denis Leary fan, I saw him on the cover and took a second look. Having enjoyed Jay Mohr on the Jim Rome show and in several of his other movies, I decided it was worth a shot. I don't regret it.

What works? Christopher Walken, for one, in a role he seems to relish. Denis Leary as Walken's driver and first officer is a deal-maker; without his performance this is a two star movie at best. Henry Thomas is mostly believable as the gullible upper-crust boy who will go to extreme lengths to save his sister, though the closeness between the two of them is never really established. Brad Garrett also turns in an easily-overlooked performance as one of the kidnappers - his timing is as good here as it in is "Everybody Loves Raymond."

What doesn't work? The plot, for starters. Even kids with all the disposable cash in the world would have more trouble pulling off a job like kidnapping Christopher Walken's character. There are several weak points that are overshadowed by good acting, thankfully. I needed to see more of the girl, her brother, and her boyfriend before believing what the story told me to believe. Finally, the ending leaves a bit to be desired, no matter which of the three versions you see (two alternate endings are part of the special feature, with completely banal commentary from the director dubbed over the dialogue). I would have preferred a much more violent ending myself - too may loose ends left untied for me.

All in all, this was an enjoyable movie that I would see again but would likely rent rather than buy. Tarantino fans should love it, as should anyone who enjoys well-acted mobster movies. There was a lot of talent in this movie - it's too bad the script and the plot left them underutilized and underappreciated.

Summary: A Viewing Pleasure To Die For!
Review: Christopher Walken gives another fascinating performance, as a mob kingpin who has been chloroformed and abducted by a group of young men. After gaining his trust over drinks in a bar, he lets the group give him a lift that is truly a bum steer. They are trying to raise money to pay off a DIFFERENT set of abductors who are holding one of the groups' sister for ransom. Since Walken has money and connections, these naive men THINK they're onto something that will pay off. Instead, it will payback. ............. Though Walken spends most of the movie tied to a chair, he manages to use his wits to survive both his kidnapping, and amputation of a finger. Jay Mohr plays a hateful yuppie to perfection here too. I particularly enjoyed the peripheral role of Jeremy Sisto as the pre-med student of the group. He is in charge of performing Walken's non-elective surgery, and administering injected pain relief not only to Walken, but to himself as well. ............... Dennis Leary is fun to cheer for as Walkens personal henchman who is out for justice. His language is rich in expletives, and he means business, even if a toaster has to be used. .................. I highly recommend this film as a noir thriller that thrives on claustrophobic excitement. Most of the movie seems to take place during the night, and in the house of the groups nerd pal. (What's really funny is that he's more worried about his parents liquor cabinet being raided, than anything else). This kind of shut in atmosphere enhances the tension of the plot very effectively. ................ Walken fans, don't miss this entry in his filmography. Like in another great Walken sleeper, "Things To Do In Denver When You're Dead", Walken can use just his body from the neck up, confined in a chair motionless, and STILL keep you fascinated. I guarantee, when you view "Suicide Kings", you WON'T want to leave YOUR seat.

Review: I'll be the first to admit that I'm a big Chris Walken fan--not that in my eyes he can do no wrong, but when I know he's substantially involved in a movie, I'll be more inclined to give it a try.

The Tarantino-leanings of the film aren't surprising, given the time of the film's release, so I can't give the film high marks for originality. And most of the main characters (Jay Mohr, Sean Patrick Flannery) lack the charisma needed to involve you fully in the story. The real stars of the film are the aforementioned Mr. Walken, who deadpans his way into our hearts once again, and Denis Leary as his Denis Leary-esque bodyguard.

Whenever Denis is on the screen, a bit of life is breathed into the proceedings. Especially notable for his scene with the homeless guy. I laughed my guts out.

Summary: Just awesome
Review: I am a huge Christopher Walken fan. Some of my other favorite actors are Denis Leary and Jeremy Sisto. I think more people should see this movie. It is just the best movie I've seen in some time. And with that cast, you can't go wrong.

Review: This is a great movie, great plot and great acting. I can't believe Walken and Leary didn't get recognition for their roles in this movie. They were great. Definitely recommend it if you like a little humor with your suspense.

Summary: A offer you can't refuse!
Review: ... My friend and I sat down and watched it (I seen it before he didn't), the next day he went out and bought it and watched it two more times in the next week. Christopher Walken is great. Dennis Leary is, well, Dennis Leary. Nice movie with it fair share of twists and turns. It even has some alternate endings in the extras department. In fact my friend just loves this movie and he got two other people to buy it. You can go wrong for the price.

Summary: An excellent thriller that toys with your mind
Review: Come on. Denis Leary and Christopher Walken? You can't beat a combination like that. Two of the coolest people ever to hit the silver screen for completely different reasons. And both are absolutely great in this movie. As is everyone else. Although a thriller, this movie is also very tongue in cheek, making a lot of jokes on the way. It's full out entertainment, with a climax that will make you go "wow". Or at least I did. Buy it!!

Summary: Good Thriller...
Review: I love Christopher Walken. He played in a lot of Tim Burton's movies(which is a good thing), but now, he plays in Suicide Kings, a cool thriller with other good actors. Unlike somepeople, I think this movie was neither (too) violent nor bloody. But if we had to judge movies on the violence they contain, Mark Dacascos' movies would be the best(in your dreams Mark!). The story was common for that kind of thriller, but it was well-written, and it went in a way no one could expect, so it had lots of surprises(good ones). This is not an extremely WELL-KNOWN movie, but watching it is a lot of fun and you won't fall asleep...
