Summary: Say hello to my little friend!!
Review: This is probably one of the best mob/gangster movies available, comparable (yes, I admit) to "The Godfather" trilogy. The depiction of the rise and fall of a gangster is just brilliant and, to some extent, you tend to like Tony Montana (Al Pacino, you the man!). A cuban "political refugee", as Tony himself would say, this former con arrives in Miami and establishes a whole new way of doing business: Tony's way. You get chainsaws, clowns being shot, machine-gun shooting a-plenty, cocaine sniffing, bad guys plotting evil schemes, gangster remorse, and a lot more elements needed in a movie like this. Plus you have Al Pacino in one of his most well achieved roles, with a great direction by Brian de Palma and a brilliant adaptation from 1930's Chicago (where the original Scarface takes place) to 1980's Miami by Oliver Stone. What more could you hope for?

Summary: The best Al Pacino in a great gangstaaa! movie
Review: He came from Cuba as a refugee to the U.S., he did a few little illegal jobs for different purchasers and became the biggest mafia boss in the city (Miami).

Al Pacino and his supporting actors do their job so well that you can feel with the characters and put yourself in their place.
The development of the story is every second of the movie very exciting and also realistic.
This movie is also a model for a very good computergame called GTA (grand theft auto) Vice City!

In our opinion, the movie and the videogame are fantastic examples for real good entertainment.

Summary: The overall package was fantastic
Review: I really love this DVD box set and seeing the original Scarface along with the modern Scarface. Pacino is fantastic as Tony Montana, and the story is interesting in how it shows the rise and fall of this person. I loved the extras, though the Hip hop people's opinions on this movie were HILARIOUS to me. [SPOILER ALERT] (Tony didn't die because he "let his boy down" he died because he was a bad guy doing bad things and other bad guys wanted him dead)

The original story was also great, and though based in a different setting with different people, the story actually stayed pretty true to the original.

I think this movie would have gotten 5 stars from me if it didn't seem to drag a bit. Don't get me wrong, I think this is a great movie, but a 5 star mob movie to me includes the Godfather, The Godfather 2, and MAYBE another movie like Goodfellas or even Donnie Brasco, but in a genre that's as watered down as "mob movies" it's hard to give 5 stars to everything, especially when it seems like Pacino's in all of them.

Summary: Cuban Dream
Review: Scarface is one of those great American classics that make movie watching that much more enjoyable. It is about a young Cuban (Al Pacino) who finds his way over to America. After working a dead end, legitimate job he moves onto a more provocative source of income. Assassination, drug running, murder, theft, and chainsaws await you in this film. Pacino becomes the biggest importer of cocaine into Miami, and all the quirks of drug-dealing life as we know it through cinema are present. Romance should be sought out elsewhere. Phrases such as "Say hello to my little friend" and "Do you think I come over on a boat" make the film catchy. This is arguably one of Pacino's best works second only to Dog Day Afternoon and the Godfather collection.

Summary: The movie that influenced a generation of young black men
Review: There has never been a single movie that has influenced an entire culture like "Scarface" has. 'Gangsta rap', 'thug life', 'bling-bling', 'big pimpin', you name it. It all comes from this critically maligned (at the time) cult classic 'reimagining' of the 1932 original.
All these gangster rappers want to be the embodiment of Tony Montana. Their aspirations (get the money, get the [women], get paid) are all tied into this fictional character who just happens to meet a violent end.
And this is an awful shame. ...It's just a stupid movie. Not worth getting 'capped' over this. And no matter how many negative reviews I get, I AM NOT CHANGING MY MIND! This is a darn fine movie by the way. The chainsaw scene is great.

Summary: A Must See For Film Lovers
Review: If one were to define brilliance in film, they would look to Scarface. From the start you are wisked away into the drug overdosed crime scene of South Florida and the world of Tony Montana played excellently by Al Pacino in one of his greatest roles ever. The character of Tony Montana can be seen in many immigrants and others who have started from the bottom and have gone through society through the only means that they felt they could make it through, which in most cases was the world of drugs. Pacino's character is one of the most believable characters of all time. You hate him at the same time that you love him. You understand him as much as you want to help him.

The soundtrack plays a great role in the beauty of this film. Classic hits from the 80s are constantly playing in the backgrounds of late night car rides and at the club. This movie puts you into the world of Tony Montana and takes you on a journey through a world that is yours for the taking.

Summary: This movie made me so angry!
Review: WARNING: This is a RANT against this movie that reveals many major plot points. Don't read on if you don't want to know.

First off, let me say that I LOVE gangster movies and Al Pacino. This is one of the few gangster films that I don't like, and I seriously don't understand all the hype about Scarface. I did think it was skillfully done, but this movie just made me mad!! I hated Al Pacino's character. He is probably the biggest jerk ever portrayed on film. He abuses and uses everyone in his life including the woman he stole from another gangster, his sister, and his friends. When his sister marries one of his oldest friends, he shoots the guy. And his sister still stays loyal to him!!! After 3 hours of this, I was so glad that Tony got killed in the end. I only wished that everyone whose life he destroyed could have been there to pull the trigger on him.

I realize that since I hated this movie and Al Pacino's character so intensely, that means that he really is a GREAT actor. But great or not, I would never watch this movie again. The two stars are given to recognize Pacino's talent in creating such a thoroughly despicible and revolting character.

Summary: An Interesting Movie!
Review: My brother rented Scarface and I watched it with him and though I don't think of it as Al Pachino's best movie I did think it was an interesting movie and Al Pachino gave a good performance as did Michelle Pfeiffer and the rest of the cast and I recommend this movie to fans of these actors and to people who aren't offended by movies that have nudity and lots of violence and profanity. In this movie Al Pachino plays a drug dealer who becomes the top kingpin and crosses paths with a crime boss played by Robert Loggia when he takes his mistress played by Michelle Pfeiffer which esculates into a very violent showdown! Not a movie I want to own but it was an interesting movie to watch at least once.s
