Rating: Summary: Could Pacino possibly be any better? Review: Pacino is one of the greatest actors that ever graced the "silver screen" and in this movie you get a true scence of why he is the best. This film touched me. It gives the viewer the harsh reality of what it is the make a fresh start after being in prison and its also a beautiful love story. I really liked this movie. One of my favorites
Rating: Summary: Classic Pacino Review: Carlito's Way is classic Al Pacino. He is The Man. He has an incredible screen presence in this film as in his other films. Combine The Man with Sean Penn and Penolope Ann Miller. Then add a great script and plot and you have one hell of a movie. Do yourself a favor a buy this film.
Rating: Summary: It was a great movie, great plot with lots of suspense! Review: In this wonderful masterpiece, Carlito Brigante (Pacino) gets out of a 30-year sentence from his cocaine addicted lawyer Kleinfeld (Penn). He vows to go straight but no one really buys it. He meets his one time love, and vows to her to go legit. But then his lawyer has a favor... I can't say no more from there, the suspense is to great! Penn was great, but Pacino was the bonus. Another great DePalma film. If you haven't watched Carlito's Way, rent it!!!
Rating: Summary: ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE Review: This film just gets better every time I watch it. What the helldoes Sean Penn have to do to get an Oscar??? Pacino is masterful asalways, but Penn steals the show in this one. He is almost unrecognisable as the wimpy, disloyal lawyer Klienfeld. Why was the ending shown at the beginning though? Sometimes it can work, but in this one it takes something away from the viewer. Do not miss this one, so many have and it's their loss.
Rating: Summary: THE BEST GANGSER MOVIE EVER MADE Review: This movie has everything you could possibly want in a gangster movie. It has a thick plot, but not so complicated as you can't follow it. It has Al Pacino in it, who is one of the best actors of the century. It has great direction, lots of action, even a little romance for those who like that, but not anywhere near enough to drive guys away. This is definitly one of the finest movies I have ever seen, and should be owned by ANYONE who likes gangster movies.
Rating: Summary: De Palma's finest movie! Review: Carlito's Way is Brian de Palma's best movie, much better than Scarface and The untouchables together. Al Pacino and Sean Penn are the two greatest actors in the world.
Rating: Summary: "YOU THINK YOU BIG TIME?" WELL THIS MOVIE IS!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: Brian De Palma, Al Pacino, Sean Penn and Penelope Ann Miller. What do these things mean? A WICKED @SS MOVIE THAT EXPLODES WITH POTENTIAL. i love this movie, it is outstanding, Al Pacino is brilliant. this movie is Brilliant. If there ever was a screen masterpiece....Look no further.
Rating: Summary: GOOD DRAMA, GOOD STORY TELLING Review: Pacino plays an excon with an old fashion honor code, who wants to make a few honest bucks to finally retire. Along the way are double crossing lawyers, old pals, and mob henchmen. I liked the steadycam shots, following Pacino at the train station, and the suspense scene at the pool room. Pacino is great, but he could not deliver the "neoyorrican" ( slang for a puertorrican raised in New York City)accent right. The movie seems to long at times, but that's because DePalma wanted us to relate to the characters enough, in order to make us aware of why Pacino keeps a distance from most people in the film. Is a good film because we identify with the main character, although we(or most of us )have not dealt with such low life, dangerous people, and we start feeling that we are actually hanging out with Carlito (Pacino's character). It's a good drama/suspense that shouldn't be missed. To be noticed, is Vigo Mortensen delivering a few but well spoken spanish lines, with no accent whatsoever, and perfect puertorrican inflection. Muy bien muchacho!
Rating: Summary: De Palma at his best Review: Carlito's Way is one of the best crime films of all time. De Palma's films are usually hit or miss, but this time he definitely hit the bull's eye. The acting of Pacino and Penn is spectacular as usual. I really thought De Palma/Pacino were great working together on Scarface, but Carlito's Way is definitely a much better effort.
Rating: Summary: Pacino and DePalma Do It Again Review: Pacino is the man. It's that simple. The scene on the escalator is the best of the movie. Pacino dies in 90% of all his films.
