Summary: And the prior film was even better....
Review: Yes, I own Heat. It ranks as one of the best Crime dramas in my collection, and matches the action films such as The Replacement Killers for pure heart-freezing thrills. As a fan of Micheal Mann ever since Manhunter and Miami Vice, I regret that L A Takedown, the TV movie that was the original of this film, has not been released on tape. Watching the coffee shop conversation between McCauley and Hannah, while good in the movie, was more chilling on the small screen.

Summary: the pump-gun is cool scheme -- not in this movie
Review: There are only a few pump-guns in this movie. And the actors are really aiming when using their guns! Thus, this movie is totally "uncool". But this make it one of my favorite movies, together with e.g. the first two alien movies, Nikita (original version), the profi...

Summary: It has a flawless plot. Nothing superfluous.
Review: I'll keep it short and sweet. This is Michael Mann's best work. Followed very closely by The Last Of The Mohicans. This movie has impecable character development and heart-stopping action. Contains the best gun-fight action sequence ever recorded on film.

Summary: My favorite film ever.........
Review: What can I say about this film!

I think the running time helps. Characters are given room to roam, story lines are set up and explored fully. You don't feel cheated.

De Niro conveys menace with his usual flair, and I think his character is more interesting than Pacino's. One exception is Pacino's scene with his wife after the wedding reception. The wife's calm assessment and dissection of their crumbling marriage is one of the most poignant pieces of writing I have heard. Many hold the De Niro/Pacino coffee shop scene up as the best "talking heads" scene in the film, but I disagree, this is.

Shooting on entirely on location is a very large part of my love of the film and also enhances the films authentic air. An example is the scene where De Niro and Voight talk about the re-sale of the bearer bonds after the purchase of the bank robbery score. The morning light of LA is beautiful, and could not have been created in a closed set.

Only one thing lets it down - the romantic scenes shot on De Niros balcony. To me the night-time background looks back projected, but I could be, and probably am wrong. Either way, the effect lets down the scene for me.

There are so many things I could say. I don't know which to fit into my 1000 words, so I won't try.

Watch this film. You won't be disappointed.

By the way, the bank shoot out - awesome !!!

Review: Spectacular cinema. Great sound. Lucious eye candy. What a movie should be.

Summary: Top Ten
Review: I'm usually critical of ridiculous mistakes directors make in otherwise decent movies, but Heat is close to perfect. Simply one of the best "cops & robbers" films ever made.

Summary: "If you're going to make moves on the street..............
Review: ....dont have any attachments, never get caught up in a situation you cant walk away from in 30 seconds flat, if you feel the heat around the corner.....that is the decipline"!........I LOVE THIS MOVIE.....And I dont care what anyone says, but DeNiro owns this movie: he outperforms everyone, including Pacino (who is great as usual). This movie has some of the most memorable characters, some of the best lines, some of the most thrilling action scenes you will ever see in a crime saga. Heat is my favorite movie of all times. The only slight negative is the length (just over 3 hours), even though with the gripping plot you wont notice it. Now that I have written this review I am going to watch it again, for the 25th time! Michael Mann reigns as the king of the crime saga, and DeNiro, Pacino, Val Kilmer and Tom Sizemore are at their best.

Summary: Pacino & DeNiro are the greats, a true crime saga.
Review: The sound on it is awesome especially with Dolby Digital on it, Sounds Spectular. Love the picture, excellent. Had to get it, Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro them together a masterpiece.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Its no coincidence that HEAT and BADD both have four letters
Review: Are we to believe that in the final chase sequence that Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino could actually run that far without passing out. Those two old men couldn't have walked that distance without having to take a nap afterwards. Plus at the end there is no way the Al Pacino from where he was standing could have shot DeNiro first, unless DeNiro was a gimpy only man. Which he proved he wasn't by running those 10 miles. A terrible terrible awful farce of a movie.
