Summary: One of my favs! Great plot with great actors! MUST SEE!
Review: I saw this movie with my friend and his dad. His dad is really critical about movies and stuff like that. I was very surprised to hear that he really enjoyed it. I on the other hand, heard great things about this movie from other people and was looking forward to seeing it. I was not disapointed. The movie had some great actors such as Hugh Jackman from XMEN and Don Cheadle who did an incredible job in Traffic. Now I have to admit John Travolta is someone who I do not really like as actor. That is probably because I haven't seen many of his movies. I'll tell you one thing though: He was amazing in this movie. He delivered a performance you won't forget and his character'spersonality was one that was so unique I had to question myself with his interesting being. Now comes Halle Berry. Now I also admit that I was looking forward to the scenes with Halle Berry bearing her body. But, she is an incredible actor too and she deserves credit for the good job she did in this movie. Overall, this movie was confusing in some parts but then again, most movies are. All movies have the potential of being viewed twice and then you will full understand the movie. Swordfish is a great movie with anyone interested in the world of hacking, terrorism (not the best time in the world to say that word sry), and illusions (you will understand once you see the movie HOUDINI IS MY BRO!). I highly recommend seeing this movie. After all, a great story, with great actors, and some scenes that will make you jump, how can you miss? Hehe, just kidding.

Summary: The middle way?
Review: I guess I fall somewhere in between on the 'drivel-to-drama' scale of reviews herein. I came to the movie with very low expectations, and thus came away not at all disappointed. All in all, it was better than I expected, but less than it might have been.

(I'll never understand those who complain about 'gratuitous' violence, nudity, profanity, etc. You see the trailer, you get the idea. Did you somehow think that this was going to be "Waiting for Godot"? If it's not your kind of movie, then don't watch it!)

The overall pace is good, the story line is consistent (if not strong), and there are just enough surprises to keep one interested. It may not be much of a video library 'must-buy', but it's probably worth the rental (or used) price.

Summary: It's never what you think!
Review: John Travolta, Halle Berry, and Hugh Jackman take you on a wild roller coaster ride of a film. Pay Attention, (or rewind a lot!) or you'll miss something! John creates a manic character who is just sooo evil, and soo funny! He's actually loveable. You have got to see this movie! Buy it!

Summary: Swordfish
Review: Felt like a mix of Matrix & Speed with a bit of No Way Out thrown in. Overall, I very good movie that is definitely a watch for thriller/sci-fi fans. It seems illogical at times and has overblown images, but it's nothing gruesome/vivid like the images of Saving Private Ryan. As an old-married type, the wife could only take the first 5 minutes before she went on to better things. Not a date movie unless both are hard core sci-fi fans.

Summary: Dumb fun
Review: Lets face it folks- this movie has very little in the way of a plot, and even less in the way of depth. Nonetheless, its a good movie to drop in after a long day @ work. There are plenty of explosions, cool toys and attractive women to entertain me for an hour or so. Also, its an impressive home theater film, esp the opening scene. Of course, if you're looking for a film with any sort of meaning or artistic value, dont buy it.

Summary: WORST FILM THIS YEAR
Review: Don't waste your time seeing this film. If you have to see it (...) watch it on Pay Per-View.

Summary: Don't believe the pros! Swordfish is smokin!
Review: Let me reaffirm what another reviewer said: Don't the so-called professional critics scare you off this movie IF you like lots of action, sex ..., adventure, a few plot turns and more than a few explosions. If that is your bag, though, Swordfish is certainly a movie worth checking out.

The plot is startlingly simple, but takes a while to get developed. Travolta is fine as a smooth, in-control antiterrorist agent. He somehow has Halle Berry (Lord have mercy, she is fine!) Help him recruit the greatest computer hacker in the known world. Their scheme is to transfer a cool ten million bucks which found its way into secret government accounts to Travolta's own end.

...I found the climax and the plot turns to be satisfying and it certainly was not my "passive attention which was held. And I don't care if the computer scenes were somehowy "unrealistic", because I was still wowed by the opening scene at the bank with the hostage-turned-into-a-claymore-mine.

This is a movie that is certainly entertaining. If I need to be more intellectually challenged, I will read some Einstein.

Summary: Eye Candy
Review: This is the type of movie that would wake someone up after viewing all of the other (stuff)released this year. I totally enjoyed this film, and I always like a movie that isn't easily predictable, this one had some interesting twists and turns. When I say "Eye candy" I'm of course talking about the spectacular 10 second sequence involving C4 and ball bearings that set off a beautiful explosion. This is definately on my list as one of the 10 best films of the year.

Summary: SWORDFISH flounders
Review: SWORDFISH is an action-packed thriller of the Dominic Sena variety, starring John Travolta, Halle Berry, Hugh Jackman and Don Cheadle. Travolta is an anti-terrorist? Halle Berry is the leading lady? Don Cheadle is an FBI special agent. Hugh Jackman is supposedly one of the best computer hackers in the business.

Travolta invites Jackman to become part of the "team", which is unclear until almost midway into the picture; nevertheless, you know that Travolta is into some bad stuff. Jackman feels the pressure to join due to his family's demise, and has hopes of gaining custody of his ten-year old daughter from his prodigal ex-wife. However, there is one problem with gaining custody, and you guessed it, it's money, and Travolta has it and wants more. This movie is very predictable, but the action will keep you from snoozing.

The movie may flounder, but Travolta is top-notch in this one as the calculating (Kingfish), the orchestrator of Operation Swordfish. He is a bad dude, smarter than a whip, and is a lethal weapon all in one. His performance is worth seeing the picture. On the other hand, Berry (Queenfish) is less than a lady in this one, but she is a beauty that "bares" watching. Her role reminds the viewer of a young Raquel Welch, whom directors plugged into their pictures not for the sake of their acting, but their curves. In addition, Jackman's (Jackfish) performance is better than good. Cheadle (FBI-fish) is another tough guy role for him. Moreover, Camryn Grimes (Jackman's daughter) is outstanding in her limited role as the (Kidfish). Watch out for her in future films.

Take Travolta out of this one and Sena could have called it DEADFISH; nevertheless, even with him it still flounders and is barely a four. Rated R for Graphic Violence, Sex, and Nudity.
