Summary: boondock saints
Review: This is one of the best movies i've ever seen... it doesn't have as much action as movies like "the rock" or "T2" but the action scenes it does have are done so marvelously that you cannot resist. the slow motion set to the music makes you shake in your seat... its undescribable how good this movie is... i don't know where the people who rate it as a 1 of 5 are getting that from... but don't listen to them... this almost unkown movie is one of the best movies in the last ten years... my only complaint is the acting during the closing credits... especially the two guys being interviewed who argue with eachother... i would think a better closing could have been concieved... perhaps just the father son talk would have been enough... i think that would have left everybody satisfied

Summary: This is a must-have movie
Review: The Boondock Saints is, in my opinion, the best movie I've ever seen. Director/writer Troy Duffy came up with a brilliant plot that mixes the perfect blend of action, drama, and humor. While it may seem unbelievable, you cant help but to be pulled in for the duration of the movie and wanting more when its over. The characters are very well played and are what really make this movie. I'm glad that Troy Duffy decided to keep control of casting and producing and not let the major production companies take this movie over. This is the type of movie that will make it to the top by its own merit. If you dont own this movie, or have never seen it, go rent it immediately! It's a must-have for any movie fan.

Summary: The Saints
Review: Anybody who liked lock stock, snatch, the way of the gun, suicide kings or resivior dogs will love this film. Its sad that this movie continues to go unknown since it only hit select theaters and you can only rent it at blockbuster since they bought it or something. Never the less don't miss this opprotunity to buy and watch one of the greatest, bloodiest and funniest movies ever. I put it in my top 10. I like this movie so much I couldn't wait for it to come out in the states so I orderd the import. All the actors are great, but listen for when sean patrick flanery losses his accent. Their is not one movie I more frequently recommend than this one, after you watch it once you'll watch it 3 more times that day, then you will go out buy a pea coat, a pack of cigs and a celtic cross and want to be them. Anyways IF YOU'RE A MALE 12 TO 35 WHO LIKES ANY OF THE FILMS ABOVE OR ANYTHING LIKE THEM THIS FILM IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR...

Summary: AWESOME FILM
Review: Sadly, hardly anyone has seen The Boondock Saints. And that truly is a shame, because it's a million times better than any movie that a huge studio could produce. For those of us who have seen this movie, we know what the rest of the world is missing. Two brothers (Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus) begin a killing spree using vigilante justice to rid Boston of its criminals. A detective, played flawlessly by the great Willem Dafoe, is hot on their tracks. He is caught morally though, between a rock and a hard place: He somewhat believes in what the "saints" are doing. On the other hand, he does have a job to do. Isn't that what he's supposed to be fighting for: To put murderers behind bars? But these brothers aren't killing innocent people; they're helping to make the streets safer. This stylish and intelligent film allows the audience to decide their own opinions. Is any kind of murder justifiable? Even when the "murderers" believe they're on a direct mission from God? You be the judge. The acting is great all around. Especially by Dafoe. Why that man hasn't won an Oscar yet is beyond me. In a world of fluffy, over-budgeted, and talentless movies, The Boondock Saints stands out as a truly remarkable film. Perhaps word-of-mouth will allow this movie to be seen by more people. It definitely deserves to be!!

Summary: Best action movie, why not more press?
Review: This movie has spread like wildfire in my group of friends, none of us had even heard of this movie until a year ago. From the point most of us had first seen it we can't get enough. I already have the video but heard they were rereleasing the DVD, I can't wait to get it. I have some new friends who have not seen it. If they only knew.

Review: This is definitely one of my all-time favorite movies and recommend anyone who can buy a copy to do it. I've watched it over and over again and never get tired of it. Wish there were a sequel.

Summary: Finally, an original action movie.
Review: This is a surprisingly entertaining movie. When seen on the video shelf (which is how most people have seen it), this looked like just another fill-in, low-budget, cliche-ridden, violent, and amatuerish effort.... It is far from it. I can't remember being more favorably impressed with a movie that I'd heard absolutely nothing about.

A well-paced opening sequence introduces us to a pair of Irish brothers stuck on the low end of society. As the story unfolds, we note the light sprinkling of tattoos and an unexpected fluency in a wide variety of foreign languages. Where did these guys come from? Why are they special? Details of these questions are revealed slowly and masterfully throughout the course of the movie.

Flashbacks and double-takes on certain events are used to move the plot, thankfully without any of the self-aware empty cuteness that you see posing as creativity in a lot of movies. After the first such sequence, I was hooked and eagerly awaited the next. I thoroughly enjoyed the way the movie handed out tidbits of information allowing us to try to keep up with what the characters on the screen were experiencing. A captivating movie.

Troy Duffy is the writer/director on this grim little gem. That saves me the trouble of figuring out which job deserves more credit for an incredibly thrilling piece of work.

Willem Dafoe gives a great performance as an experienced, eccentric Federal Agent. You'll be adding "-ology" to a lot of words after this movie, and smiling about it. Sean Patrick Flannery and Norman Reedus play the brothers. David Della Rocca puts in a frenzied but ultimately effective performance as their low-end mobster friend. Billy Connolly Rounds out the cast, putting in a too-brief appearance as the mob's hitman of choice.

There is a lot of violence in this one (It ain't the apple dumpling gang), but we sense a reason for it throughout the movie. The film finishes on an eerie coda. Battered by what we've seen, and maybe intimidated by the purported force behind it, the movie acknowledges our thoughts and doubts by echoing them during the closing credits, and eases us back into our own world.

This movie was big loud fun. Give it a shot.
