Summary: Poorly done
Review: This Movie would be enjoyable if it wasn't so dark( the movie is shot almost without light, or in post it was darkened...) And the audio was a little more consistance in volume. Background sounds and music are louder than the actors. Angeline looked like she needs a few nights sleep... Buy this one at your own risk!

Summary: Too similar to CopyCat
Review: If you've seen Copycat with Sigourney Weaver and Holly Hunter, you've partically seen this movie. 1) Denzel Washington is stuck at home being a paraplegic. Sigourney weaver is stuck at home being afraid of evrything and everyone, and refuses to leave her apartment. 2) Holly Hunter tracks down clues and examines evidence based on Sigourney's analysis of the events. Angeli Jolie follows directions from Denzel when investigating a crime scene. 3) The killer in Copycat duplicates the crime scenes of various famous serial killers. The killer in Bone Collector is copying crimes from a antigue book about various murders from the beginning of the 20th century. 4) Eventually the killer goes after Sigourney Weaver. Eventually the killer goes after Denzel Washington. 5) Sigourney Weaver fights back and kills the killer. Denzel Washington fights back and kills the killer. 6) Denzel Washinton starts having contact with the outside world after this. Sigourney Weaver overcomes her agoraphia.

Copycat is better and has more suprises. Buy Copycat, rent The Bone Collector.

Summary: All good and so, except for one minor detail.
Review: The Bone Collector was suspenseful, and great, the movie rocked. Keeped you guessing through out the whole movie. A little gory but that is what serial killer movies are like if you don't like gory movies i recomeend you don't see this one. If you bought this movie or are planning on buying it the sound is just slighty off the background noise is so loud it disturbs with the main talking (sometimes in the movie, not all the times) A must see psychological thriller if your with those killer flicks.

Summary: I had to crawl under the sheets
Review: This wasn't the best movie I've seen, but it's up there. I was so scared the whole way through. Why did the have to use a taxi cab. I may never enter one again because of this movie. Thank God Denzel was ok at the end. The movie was extremely graphic which made it almost real. I would have liked the movie better if Denzel was up and walking.

Summary: An insult to all intelligent people
Review: This is the stupidest movie I have ever seen(or even thought of). As other reviewers said, the only bright side of this movie is that it has Denzel Washington(Lincoln Rhyme) in it. Regardless of the the performances, the plot is very insane. If you are a guy with a brain you'll be finally find yourself that you've been on the bad guys side alone the movie. It's an insult to love and intelligence.

Angelina Jolie stars as an officer, Amelia Dinaghy, who works with kids. She got in the story since she discovered a dead body buried near the railroad tracks. She took all the photographed all the evidence very smartly and rightly. Rhyme's(Denzel Washington) impressed with her doings and since he is crippled(because of the accident in the beginning of the movie) he decides to abandand all his old buddy coworders and forced Amelia to asist him on this case. They work as a good pair, Rhyme gives commands and Amelia finishes them. Although they work very hard but still the killer has his victims lined up. The cops can't stop the killer, they can only follow the evidences which are intentionally left by the killer. Finally there is only about 15 mins left in the movie and the good guys still don't have any clue to capture the killer so the director decided to let the killer turn himself in but not tragically but stupidly.

After the movie I really felt the killer was the only smart one and the cops plus all the other officials including Rhyme and Amelia were all pethetic. The crime was solved not by those who tried to solve it but by the criminals themselves(because they suddenly became insane as the director told them to).

Summary: An Odd Mystery Gore Flick: Denzel's Team Knew Too Much
Review: If you take "The Bone Collector" at face value it is a movie with a lot of gore and supense. When you listen to some of the dialogue though it is odd at how Lincoln Rhyme(Denzel Washington) just starts spouting a fountain of knowledge and he and his team of helpers(The Good Guys) almost seem infallible in tracking down the killer. At times it would seem that you(the viewer) are just being lead down the primrose path. The mystery is impossible at times for the viewer to actually figure out no matter how much attention they paid to detail.(Other than physical characteristics I mean. By evaluating the evidence they gather it is impossible.) It's leave it to Lincoln Rhyme and his trusty apprentice Officer Donaghy. So by the end the mystery was solved and I breathed a sigh of relief.(Whew) A major flaw of this movie is just how many gadgets Lincoln Rhyme has at his disposal. I wasn't a believer in that. They must have cost a fortune.(An unrealistically large fortune.) The major flaw is that I knew who the killer was because of the color of his eyes. It is ridiculous to have an intricate plot but have an easy fool proof method of identifying the killer. In short, this movie is flawed.

Summary: Superior Cop Thriller
Review: This totally engaging film rises above most other cop thrillers with the cat-and-mouse, "can we catch the bad guy before he commits another crime?", theme.

Denzel Washington fans will thrill at his energetic performance, done almost entirely from the confines of a hospital bed! Angelina Jolie nicely fills the challenging shoes of her role.

This is very, very good entertainment.

Warning: the crime scenes are pretty ugly.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Coulda been worse, I guess.
Review: The worst thing about The Bone Collector is easy to point out-- Peter Gabriel's worst song, the embarrassingly bad "Don't Give Up," used as the end credit theme. Aside from the blistering mediocrity of the song itself, its placement-- in fact, its use at all in this film-- almsot destroys the whole thing, turning it into an overly-sappy love-fest.

That being said, the rest of the movie is pretty darn good. Seeing it in relation to the two films below [Cube and Se7en], however, gives me the distinct impression that there were a lot of things left to be desired in this film.

I doubt I need to recount the plot of one of the best-selling and best-loved crime novels of the past decade, but just in case you need a refresher-- Lincoln Rhyme is an NYPD detective who, while investigating a crime scene, is hit with a falling concrete block and becomes paralyzed. When a beat cop discovers a particularly nasty crime scene and handles the evidence in a way that puts most forensics experts to shame, Rhyme takes an interest in her and tries to steer her towards detective work as she gets deeper into this case, even as she tries to disentangle herself and get back to her coveted position in the Youth Services department. Along the way, we meet the usual suspects-- incompetent Captain, really smart killer type, wisecracking sidekick, etc.

And that's the main problem. The formula's here, it's well-used, and there's not a single twist in it to makes us sit up and say "wha...?" Sure, there are some great camera shots that make us jump, but not a single place where the crime/mystery/suspense formula is undercut, much unlike both of the films below. And because of that, I have to knock it down a peg, despite having excellent camerawork, excellent acting (even from Ed O'Neill!), a leading couple with great chemistry, and a best-supporting-actress nod for Queen Latifah, who will one day begin to use her own name when she makes movies.

Summary: The Bone Collector
Review: I thought it was an over all good movie. A suspence thriller with an excallent cast. It had a bit of a surprize ending though who they led you to believe it was seemed obvious it wasn't.

Summary: don't eat within an hour of watching this one..
Review: In fact, you might not want to eat for the entire day that you watch this film. I don't have the slightest idea what the folks who made this one were trying to accomplish, besides creating the prototypical murder mystery. I can't even see how this can be called a mystery; every single segment was laid out and spoon fed to the viewer.

Denzel was the only bright point of this movie; he was very good. The remaining cast, including Angelina Jolie, Luiz Guzman, and Queen Latifah, were great theoretically, but their scripts were poorly written. The movie had very clear cut good guys and bad guys; the good guys were omnipotent while seeming against unbeatable odds, and the bad guys were unquestionably hated. And, like every single other prototypical action film, the bad guy explains their whole plot to the good guy right before killing him, and, suddenly and miraculously, the good guy is saved. What a surprise.

If you like to plod through a regular, unexciting movie, taking time along the way to vomit, then I suggest you see this one. Otherwise, find a murder mystery with some depth to it, like SEVEN.

Now, if you liked this movie, I highly suggest you go rent some old war films that have no plotline. They're remarkably similar to THE BONE COLLECTOR.
