Summary: This is my All-time favorite movie
Review: Don't read the back panel, don't listen to your friends or enemies, watch this movie but watch it and pay attention; that is what I did and it is one of if not the greatest movie I have ever seen!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This isn't just a movie...its an experience!!!
Review: I think it can safely be said that I have rarely been so impressed with a movie. Everything about this movie meshes together perfectly. From the first strings of John Ottman's absoloutely haunting score to the the incredible script and the flawless (and I mean flawless!!) performances by all five of the "suspects". Foremost by Kevin Spacey who after this movie became my favourite actor. Amazing support from Chazz Palminteri as the Customs Officer investigating the puzzling crime. This movie keeps you guessing making you come to conclusions that you think are unshakable and then destroying them as the film unravels. So you keep changing your conclusions trying to decide who is who and what is going on. The closer you get to the end the more firmly you believe you are right. Then in the last minutes of the film it doesn't matter what you thought (even if you were right) the movie makes you see that you have to look beyond the obvious or even the not so obvious. Like everyone says the ending is a complete shocker to everybody (in one form or another). It redifines the way you think. I never get tired of watching this movie, there is always something new to appreciate. Reflecting on the minor details, actions and even the dialogue (some of those one liners are destined to become - if they aren't already - classics) will make the ending make even more sense and that much more incredible. As to the critics who claim that the ending blows holes in the rest of the movie and the plot, I say they're mistaken. Watch and listen carefully, everything happens for a reason the ending doesn't change the story, it defines it. What can I say? This movie immerses you making you use all your senses and perceptions...it chills you with its grittiness it warms you with its offbeat humor and then gives you goosebumps in the end. That's why this isn't just a movie...its an experience!!!

Summary: Blows your mind awesome!
Review: This movie is a thrill-a-minute. Everyone in it is spectacular, but Spacey is the best! I love this movie. If you like movies that keep you guessing, get this movie.

Summary: Very possibly the best movie you will see in years
Review: I was skeptical of this movie at first. I was a little unsure of the timeline. Many movies get you lost jumping back and forth between times. The Usual Suspects gives you the time line quickly and with little wasted time. The story is a masterpiece and the acting is spectacular. The ending is the absolute best. Bottom line: watch it.

Summary: Outstanding.
Review: This has to be one of my favorite movies. I'm not really sure where some of the negative comments out here are coming from, but each to his own. I think Kevin Spacey did an amazing job, and the rest of the cast worked well together.

Summary: Kevin Spacey makes the movie
Review: While the movie is great and a definite must-see it is Kevin Spacey's performance as the invalid narrator that makes this movie a true classic. He is simply incredible, yet also very believable. without him the ending would never have worked so well. You have to see this movie, even if only for Kevin Spacey (he won't let you down).

Summary: Some Corrections
Review: As a major fan who's seen this thing about a dozen times (yes, yes: my friends are saving up to buy me a life for Christmas) I just wanted to make a couple corrections to your otherwise good review. First, Soze (according to Verbal, who ought to know) is in fact Turkish with a possible German father. Second, Dave Kuljan (Palmintieri's character) is actually a customs agent, not a detective.

Summary: Awesome!!!!
Review: The Usual Suspects is, all in all, a great movie, but I wouldn't have given it 5 stars if the end of the picture had been different. It was simply brilliant! And Kevin Spacey's acting was great, his encounter with the detective in that small (or seemingly small) room was full of tension. The story itself is compelling though I had to watch it twice before I was sure of what was happening when. The other actors throw in some good acting too but Spacey has got the ball. Great movie, I recommend you to see it if you're ready to let one or two a bit not so pleasant scenes to slide by. Best movie I've seen.

Summary: One fo the most important and defining films of this decade
Review: "The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist. I am not afraid of anyone Sgt. Kuyan. But I am afraid of Kayser Sose"

As we approach the end of the 1990's and those of us sad enough to be bothered try and write our lists of the best films of the last decade, it is without reservation that a proudly proclaim The Usual Suspects as one of the'films of the decade'. The film is perhaps the most important genre defining film of recent years. It re-invents the film noir a genre that has become so self-conscious in its adherence to, or departure from, the classic elements of film noir (see The Hot Spot). It is a masterpiece of storytelling, suspense, plot development, acting, design........ I run out of superlatives. The performances are superb. 'The Suspects' can also be seen as the film that elevates Kevin Spacey's status as one of the finest actors of his generation. Bryan Singer you maybe a bit of a duck, but my god, what a movie!!!

Chris McQuarrie you will always be rewmembered for writing one of the most engaging screenplays in movie history.

Summary: An "UN" Usual fun twisting ride !
Review: Whether you like to be surprised or spoon-fed your intrigue, there is no denying this thiller delivers something not seen before on the screen...and actual "whodunit" without even knowing who the "who" is!...even at the end!...and WOW what an ending. Cleverness abounds in this twister. An interesting motley crew of thugs and thiefs....each with a unique persona...Fensters butchering of the english language, "Verbal" Kent's(Kevin Spacey) ramblings that make you sympathize for his handicap. And Gabriel Byrne, who gives his best performance since The Coen brothers showcased him in the brilliant "Miller's Crossing" (*****). And throw in the enigmatic mystery figure Keyser Soze (an acronym perhaps?)and you have a thrilling caper-laden story within a story. Definetly a must see for fans of Tarentino dialog and brevado !
