Summary: Generally well done
Review: This is a good adaptation of DeMille's novel, true to the original plot line. Travolta gives his standard tough guy performance and, as always, doesn't disappoint. Madeleleine Stowe shows considerable range as Travolta's foil, simultaneously managing to be tough, sensitive and sexy.

Simon West's direction is first rate showing that Con Air was no fluke. He keeps the pace moving through all the twists and turns without losing the complexities of DeMille's characters. Once again, James Woods has an electrifying, show-stealing performance in a supporting role.

This is a solid, tightly crafted flick and though not a defining moment in film making history, it is an enjoyable and entertaining film worth seeing. An 8/10.

Summary: WHAT A WASTE OF TALENT...
Review: .....)This movie was terrible, i love travolta andwoods, but where were they desperate for work when they did this one?It should have stayed just a book, as books are always better than the movie. I skipped my way through half the dvd, to get some kind of good part, and there wasn't much. This movie was boring, poorly written -- what a waste that great actors were in this... save your money ..and dont' bother renting, and especially buying this bomb. END

Summary: Good Movie... Ending seems like it was created on the fly
Review: This was a very good movie with those interesting twists that keep you watching. However, at the end of the movie it appeared, in their quest for a real twist, they just made something up then had "flashbacks" of scenes to support the made up ending. Of course, the flashbacks were scenes you did not initially see. Therefore, it seemed like at the end they realized they did not have a plausible finish so they made it up.

All in all however, I enjoyed the movie and am glad I purchased it.

Summary: A white Danzelle Washington.
Review: Beautifully photographed and well acted. The plot is very shallow. While watching I almost wished I was watching a Civil Action. Weak through line but stands on it's technical merits.

Summary: Good start with implausable finish
Review: The General's Daughter had a good building tension throughout the movie until the end, which was disappointing. I did like the first 3/4 of the movie but came away wanting.

Summary: An intense and riviting thriller
Review: Powerhouse actor Jhon Travota stars in this intense and riviting thriller. When a highly declorated General retires , his very beautiful daughter is mysteriously murdered on the army base, when no one knows anything he seeks help and hires investigator Paul Brenner played by (Jhon Travolta)and his ci co investigator and former love intrest played by Madeleine Stowe but when they investigate further they find that the general daughter is hinding a deep dark secret that could lead to all of the higher ranking officers on base including the the general himself. But when brenner digs much deeper he find that there is a cover up here and Brenner wants no part of it , but he sure is going to get to the bottom of it even if he has to take the general down as well.

This DVD has exccelent cinimatography and good music to this intense thriller and Jhon Travolta is superb in this movie. The DVD has alot of great options and a making of the film pick this one up you won't want to miss it.

Summary: Fairly good
Review: This movie was really clunkily done. The transitions, technically, had the feel of a student film. And the set-up for the plot is totally contrived. Having said that, this movie really kept my interest. The American South is documented in popular culture, but not nearly enough, and this movie gives a good feel for it. Over-all I liked it (and I love the theme song). It reminded me of the Peter O'Toole movie "My Favorite Year" (a much better movie), which was clunky technically, had dead bits throughout, but was, overall, a film worth applauding. Same with "The General's Daughter."

Summary: Seasoned Travolta!
Review: Unlike so many other reviewers, I found this moving to be a tight knit story; Travolta at his best. Not quite as good as 'Broken Arrow', but better than 'A Civil Action'. Travolta has matured into such an excellent actor and his confidence shines through.

Summary: Terrific
Review: This was a great movie. An adoptation of the Nelson Demille novel (outstanding pick it up). It is a great movie with action and a killer storyline. It puts you in the story you can feel the heat of the Georgia summer. With a reat soundtrack superb cast this movie is a must see.

Summary: Very good plot twist and bulid up.
Review: I was totally surprised the first time I saw this movie. This is an example of how a well thought out movie can flow when you write a superb script and cast the correct actors for your movie. John Travolta was of course, EXCELLENT in this movie. Ya know, I remember when we was catching a lot of flack back in the late 70's and 80's. It's like he is getting back at all of those critics and sticking it right back in their faces. Another masterful job by John. His supporting cast was excellent as well and I am happy to see Clarence Williams III in a role other than a crazy drug addict or wife beater,(Purple Rain). This movie gets not only 2 thumbs up, but the rest of my fingers up as well. Great flick!
