Rating: Summary: . Review: Strong performances by Stephen Rea, Donald Sutherland, and Max Von Sydow. The rapport that develops between Rea and Sutherland is a treat to watch, and the film tactfully refrains from smearing its story in Dateline-esque American melodrama. There are certain elements of the case I would've like to have seen explored in greater detail, and a few sequences which do remind you that this was made for cable, but on the whole, this is a quality film.
Rating: Summary: THIS MOVIE IS EXCELLENT Review: THIS MOVIE DEALS WITH SESITIVE MATERIAL. IT IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART.BUT,IT IS ONE OF THE MOST GRIPPING MOVIES I HAVE EVER SEEN.

Rating: Summary: One of the Best True Crime Movies Review: This is such a great movie. Set in Russia, it involves on police detective who tries to find Russia's first serial killer immediately pre-and post-Iron Curtain. It's interesting to watch the procedures of Russia as well as the policeman's selfless stuggles to find the killer. The end is truly amazing. This film deal with grotesque subject matter in an elloquent way. Gripping!
Rating: Summary: Very good. Rea is brilliant. Review: The cast is excellent in this movie. It is a true story, and is more believable (mostly due to great acting by all involved) than most video verite. This movie is worth buying even if you have not seen it. You will not be disappointed.
Rating: Summary: Stunning, unforgettably directed. Review: A killer set loose by government bureaucracy; a city gripped by the fear of a madman slaughtering young children. Atlanta? New York? Philadelphia? No, this is Moscow, and the story is that of one of the worlds worst serial killers, Chikitila, who killed over 53 children around Moscow in a crime spree that lasted over eight years. Unforgettably real, excruciatingly tense, and so well acted you feel as if you were a party to the investigation. "Silence of the Lambs" is nothing compared to this film. Buy it.
Rating: Summary: Crushes Silence of the Lambs like a grape. Review: This is a dramatization of the hunt for the first widely known serial murderer in Russia. Stephen Rea does a great job of playing a passionate, meticulous detective who is assigned the case. Rhea is supported by Donald Sutherland and Max Von Sydow. While it's a violent film, very little actual violence is shown, instead the viewer is left to imagine what happens. It's a good-guys vs. bad-guys flick without the stereotypes seen in the U.S. set films. I loved it. END
Rating: Summary: Incredible Review: HBO has put out some very good and respectable original movies over the years. Supergun, Path to War to name a few. But this movie that chronicles Russian serial killer Andres Chikatilo's murder spree is without question the finest movie that HBO has ever made. Sydow is the movie's standout....his performances are stunning throughout. Sutherland also deserves special mention. Lets be absolutely clear about this.....this is an ADULTS ONLY movie....it has much disturbing content. Put the kids to bed.....and be prepared for a chilling yet unforgettable movie.
