Rating: Summary: Cadence A Great Movie Review: I loved this movies. Charlie Sheen was excellent in this movie. But I think one of my favorite parts in this movie is when Sweetbread sings in the chaple. I think he has a beautiful voice and I would love to be able to find a sound track to this movies. The part where sweetbread gets shot and Bean is holding his shirt on sweatbreads head makes me cry every time that I see it. Charlie Sheen play the part of Bean with great feeling. This movie really got to me. I would like to tell everyone to watch Cadence. And If anyone knows where I can find the Cadence Soundtrack Please let me know. Thank You and I hope that you enjoy this movie as much as I did.
Rating: Summary: Not A Typical Fish Out of Water Story Review: I saw this when I was still in highschool, a great film though Fishburne's performance was limited. Most of the focus was on Charlie Sheen but that's what I think was the intention. Private Bean is put with a bunch of black army prisoners during the 60's which would of course be unnerving though most of the film didn't dwell on racial differences and conflict with the exception of the pivotal moment when one of the black prisoners is shot dead. For the most part the focus on adaptation and how the rebellious Bean must learn to deal with the real world as it was. A short but decent movie.
Rating: Summary: best soundtrack Review: I think the movie was great, but the song by Harry Stewart End Of My Journey was fantastic. I would love to know how to purchase it
Rating: Summary: Great movie! Better soundtrack! Review: It doesn't seem like the type of movie that could get to you, not until you hear the voice of Harry Stewart that is. For someone that has such a small speaking part in the film, (Three words I think?). Harry Stewart's vioce makes the biggest impact singing in church one morning, just prior to a group of soldiers shipping out to vietnam. I believe the song is "In the sweet by and by" possibly by Rick Gibson? and sung by Mr. Stewart. Every time I come across this film on television, I am compelled to stop what I am doing and watch, hoping that I have not missed that scene. My eyes fill with tears of sorrow and joy at the lyrics every time. The Sheens, Lawrence Fishburn, and the rest of the cast do an excellent job throughout, but It is obvious by reading the other reviews, that Harry Stewart steals the show. I rate a film on it's ability to make me think, and feel emotionally. This film is a genuine five star.
Rating: Summary: Cadence Review: just a very good all round film
Rating: Summary: Cadence Review: Loved the movie, loved the music. If ANYONE has information about how I can find the music, "End of my Journey" by Harry Stewart, please contact me. I have searched high and low!!! wildin@southwind.net
Rating: Summary: A treat from the Estevez/Sheen family Review: This is one of Charlie's best performances as an actor, and I've seen many. Charlie plays his role as Private Bean with such passion, especially in the beginning, that he seems to bring you into the scenes with him. Maybe the fact that he was doing his father's movie with 2 family members added a little spark to the fire. Martin Sheen is excellent, of course, in his role as the soon-to-be-crazy Commander. However, I think the last scene in which we see the Commander was a bit contrived. It probably would have read better in a book because books seem to give more poetic license. An added bonus to the fine acting of Charlie, Martin, and Laurence Fishburn, was another Estevez son, Ramon. This is the first time I've seen Ramon in a movie - I hope it's not the last.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Story & Inspiring Music Review: This is one of those "sleeper" movies. It is a great story about frienship, respect, teamwork, father-son relationships, and soldiering. You will love Sweetbread and man does he have pipes. I can not find a soundtrack for this movie or any titles of "End of My Journey" or any songs by Harry Stewart. Please let me know if you know of any.
Rating: Summary: Great movie, Fabulous music Review: This movie has wonderful commentary on racial misconseptions and barriers. We see how diffrent veiwpoints affect the players, how they cope, and how some eventually overcome these barriers. The hightlight of the movie is the church scene where Harry Stewart sings "End of my journey". It will bring tears to your eyes. I have searched for this song for eight years with no luck. ....
