Summary: Superb
Review: With one word... Perfect. Definitely one of the most great films I have ever seen. Direction is excellent, Robbins and Freeman are more than great. The story, although not very unique, excites the viewer with its ending which gives the play an integration rarely found in films.

You'll lose if you choose not to see it. Definitely.

Summary: my review
Review: I have never been a fan of prison stories, but this movie is much more than a gruesome prison tale. The way the plot is worked and the characters are portrayed really impressed me. Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman did an award winning job. Never give up until the end because you will NEVER expect the ending! A class movie.

Summary: ONE OF THE BEST!
Review: This has to be one of the best films that I have ever seen in my entire life. A prison movie is an excellent idea and even better than that it was written by Stephen King which means that you know it is going to be really good. I am not going to go on and on about why you should watch this movie or how it is really good. If you like movies and I mean REALLY like them I suggest that you watch this. There is not one boring part in this movie. It just seems to go on and on and on but it keeps you interested as it goes on. So I give this movie a 5 because of the brilliant acting and storyline behind it. I just couldn't think of a better way to spend a friday night then watching this film.

Summary: Good movie, but DVD light on the extras
Review: I bought the DVD and enjoyed the movie. The color and sound were well done. The dvd could have contained more special features, but its still worth your money for under $15.

Summary: An Average movie.
Review: Nothing like the reviews i had heard about it. Pretty slow and with quite some inconsistencies in the storyline. Nothing to regret if you don't see it.

Summary: Great Movie!
Review: This movie was wonderful. Each character was fully developed and realistic. It gives the viewer a good glimpse at what prison life might be like for inmates. Morgan Freedman, especially as a narrator, was fantastic. I recommend this movie to anyone looking for a movie with a good plot that keeps the viewer tied to the screen till the final scene(which was directed perfectly, by the way). Compared to the last several movies I've laid my hands on, this one, by far, puts them to shame.

Summary: Excellent
Review: One of the best stories I've ever seen. Emotional, human and the best friend relation.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Powerhouse performance from Robbins and Freeman.
Review: Stephen King's novels and novellas have a bad rap of not transferring from page to picture with any sense of story or entertainment. If there was to be a movie to break this 'mold', the Shawshank Redemption is it. Tim Robbins animates Andy Dufrense almost exactly as I recall him from King's story, and Morgan Freeman is as powerful as ever as Red. The acting and directing surpassed the writing. Once I saw this film, I find I prefer it over the book. Drama at its finest!

Summary: Unforgettable
Review: This is a movie you won't forget it for your whole life. Don't see it if you're afraid of remembering it forever. It is such film which recovers viewers' faith towards Hollywood.
