Summary: Definately one of the greatest movies ever made
Review: Stephen King and Frank Darabont are quite a team. They did 'The Green Mile' together, another superb prison drama. 'Shawshank' is definately a classic, and as far as I'm concerned, it's up there with the cinema greats of all time. Some critics moaned it was too long, but the 140 minutes soon go, you forget it's that long. Moving, often violent, this film is a must see. Simply brilliant.

Summary: EXCELLENT
Review: What more can you really say? This movie was tremendously touching and as my nickname attests to, it leaves an impression ("Get busy livin' or get busy dying"). Morgan Freeman & Tim Robbins give the performance of their careers. Great supporting cast. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Summary: The film that should be in everyone's top 10 list.
Review: I look at anyone who didn't like this movie as if they just escaped from a warped mental institution. The storytelling and quality acting make for a winning combination. The experience is moving, and when you watch it from beginning to end, you'll have something to think about for a while. Its upbeat message will pull you in all directions, and then eventually bring warmth to your soul.

Andy Dufresne is sent to Shawshank Prison in 1947, convicted of murdering his wife and her lover. Within two months of his sentence, he meets friends, such as Red, who make up the little prison family that Andy grows accustom to. Through his experiences, you'll see first-hand the hardships and emotional twists Andy must endure, as he finds himself coming to terms with his former life, and his current situation.

The movie approaches the theme of institutionalization with a pinch of dread, as you come to realize how easy it is to succumb to the protective walls prison can bare, if given enough time. True, the movie is long, but hardly ever drags. You're always kept thinking, and if anything you'll be entertained, until the rousing climax. And no movie's ending has ever captivated me as much as this one's has.

How anyone could judge this film so harshly baffles me. It's not special effects driven, and it's no horror flick. But as some critics mindlessly claim, it grows beyond hollow, predictable routes. At its heart is a deeply moving, heart-warming experience about friendship and hope.

Summary: Best Movie Ever Made
Review: As you scrool through these reviews, you will note one thing they all have in common, a 5-star rating. This movie definitely deserves all 5 of those stars. It tells the story of Andy Dufresne, an innocent man who is wrongly accused of the murder of his wife and another man and is sentenced to life in a maximum security prison. The movie details the friendships that developed in his time here and also some of the enemies that surfaced. Even if you don't enjoy this movie, I can assure one thing, this will be the best ending you have ever seen. The way the movie was set up to lead to this totally unpredictable ending was done masterfully. Witness the hardships of prison life while enjoying a great movie, you will not be disappointed if you rent or buy this film.

Summary: One of the best movies ever made!!!!
Review: This is a movie that start out kinda slow and you sit there wondering what all the hoopla is about the movie. Before you know it you are taken hostage by the great story and unbelievable directing. By the end of the movie you are sad that it is over. This is one of my Top 10 all time favorite movies. I will not tell you much about the movie itself other than the fact the story is compelling, the acting is excellent, and the director has the best knack for keeping you glued to the screen. My wife turned it off after 10 minutes because she said it didn't look good. I had her watch it again and she absolutely loves the movie. Give it time and you won't be sorry.

Summary: TOTALLY ABSORBING !!!
Review: RObbins and Freeman deliver the goods here. IT's a example for those guys that think that Stephen King can only write about horror. He proved more than once that is an amazing and versatile writer. This one is an example, APT PUPIL another . This movies here is majestic, nearing perfection, a pleasant surprise in this age of imbecile and mediocre films like MISSION IMPOSSIBLE II.

Summary: One of the best movies ever made.
Review: Frank Darabont's first movie, this adaption to Steven King's "Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption" is nothing short of it's Academy Award for Best Picture. The ending was brilliant, only Steven King could think up such a fine ending and only Frank Darabont could make such a great adaption as Stephen King carefully picked him to direct. You will love this movie. Also, if you liked this movie you will also fall in love with the brilliant "The Green Mile", also written by Stephen King and directed by Frank Darabont. I can't wait untill, Frank Darabont releases his third film "The Majestic".
