Summary: Best I've ever seen
Review: I think this is for sure, the best movie that I've ever seen. I've rented it 3 straight nights in a row and expect my DVD tomorrow... I can't wait to watch it again.

Summary: Wonderful movie!
Review: I am the kind of person who reads novels first, and then goes out and sees the movies made out of the novels so I can note the ways in which the two differ. The Green Mile, though, seems as if it were directly written for the big screen. The movie deviates little from the novel, but I must warn that if you thought Del's execution in the movie was ghastly, don't dare read about it in the book version.

As for the story itself, well, I must give it a thumbs up. It's touching, and realistic without being sappy. Don't look at the title and think, "Oh, it's just another Stephen King horror/thriller/slasher." This movie is powerful: every single person in the packed theatre was weeping. It's a wonderful addition to Stephen King's repertoire.

The movie provided some excellent performances. Percy (Doug Hutchison) was exactly as evil as I imagined him, and kudos to Bonnie Hunt (Janice Edgecombe), Patricia Clarkson (Melinda Moores), and David Morse ("Brutal" Brutus Howell) for bringing life to King's characters with their talent.

Summary: 'Mile' Electrifies Viewers Everywhere
Review: Tom Hanks, (Saving Private Ryan, Forrest Gump) plays a head security guard on death row. An imposing, but gentle prisioner, Coffey (not spelled like the drink) was convicted of killing two young girls. During the story, we learn that there is much more to Coffey than his size. We also learn that not every security guard has 'what it takes' to be a good one (even if you are related to someone working for the state.) I loved Hanks and I love the movie. The supporting cast was outstanding. The special effects also caught my eye. This movie is a must-see and a must-have in your video collection. Be electrified like I was.

Review: wow, this movie was intense. i couldn't believe how well tom hanks got into his character. simply perfection. it mixes all the feelings you get from a comedy, romance, horror and especially drama<--(which i usually hate). i want to watch this movie over and over again. all the way from john to mr. jingles to boss to the child rapest/murder there is no match. i cannot compare this to any other movie.

Summary: Enough About The Length!
Review: I have to say this movie ranks in my top five all-time favorite films, up there with "Shawshank" and "Matrix". I want to emphasize that, though many complained about the 3-hour length of the movie, it needed to be that long. Anyone who read the serial novel first will find that Darabont's adaptation is impeccable. It tells a good story with a moral and is not meant to be a simple, quick entertainment fix. Also, I do agree that it helps to know the length of the movie, being that one ought to be in the mood to sit through a 3-hour movie. However, if the movie had been any shorter, it would not have been "The Green Mile", more like "The Green 2/3 Of A Mile".

Summary: Excellent!!!
Review: The movie was a bit long, and made me feel stressed when each prisoner was called for electrical shock. John( the black guy) has done a really impressive acting since he is sad all the time, making me feel so bad when he got killed. Tom Hank is perfect always. I don't see any flaws besides the fact that I felt that the parents of the 2 girls who got killed should know later on that John was not the one who killed their kids. So, I got the bad feeling that a good person was still killed. There should be more investigation rather than having most of the scenes in prison. However, this movie is excellent anyway! :)

Summary: Another great prison movie!
Review: I still think this is one of the best and most original movies of the year. The only thing I have to hold against it was the length. I think if they could have effectively cut it down to 2.5 hours it would have been even better. A lot of people will find this movie long in the tooth, especially since there is no action at all. This movie is just like a Stephen King book (which this is based on). It is deep in character development, and has several storylines running throughout. The Green Mile has Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption) written all over it. They are different movies, but I think I like Shawshank a little better. The acting in The Green Mile is excellent, and Tom Hanks once again puts in a memorable performance, putting further behind him the days of Bosom Buddies and Bachelor Party. I don't really have too many complaints about the actual story. One thing I did dislike about the movie was the character of Percy Wetmore, the sadistic prison guard who is a thorn in the side of the other guards and the prisoners. I wanted them to just smack the crud out of him every time I saw him on screen. Oh well, he gets his in the end. If you get The Green Mile, I recommend you be well rested and be prepared for some serious character and plot development. Looking for mindless explosions? Look elsewhere.

Summary: Five stars plus
Review: I wish I could give this one more than five stars. This is one of the few movies that I have liked more than the book. All the actors turned in great performances and the direction was some of the best I've seen. What can you say about Tom Hanks? He just gets better. If you are limited on the number of movies to get this year, put this one on your list.
