Summary: Suberb!!!
Review: I really don't think I can sum up in words how truly great the Godfather really is. It keeps your eyes on the screen for the whole 3 hours and the film never loses it's momentum. It is the story about a New York mafia crime family called the Corleones. Marlon Brando stars as Don Vito Corleone, the "Godfather" of the Corleone family. Also starring in this film is Al Pacino, who does a wonderful, magnificent job. The great supporting cast includes Robert Duvall, James Caan, Diane Keaton, and Talia Shire. If I were you, I would buy this movie without even thinking about it!

Summary: Haridam@webtv.net,from Cleveland, is a RETARD
Review: Amazon should do a better job in screening those who write reviews. Obviously, the viewer from Cleveland's iq is below room temperature. I know this is true because only a retard could say what she said about this movie. He, or she, needs help. The Godfather is the best

Summary: THE GREATEST MOVIE EVER MADE
Review: My summary tells all. No movie done before, or since, has captivated audiences like this one. Even those who dislike "mob movies" have admitted that this particular production was brilliant. This is more than a mafia movie. It is a true epic. Without a doubt, a true classic.

Summary: Excellent!
Review: This is one of the all-time greatest American movies ever made! It is also the greatest movie ever in 25 years! Since "The Godfather"'s release, no movie has been better (according to AFI's 100 years...100 movies). Only "Casablanca" and "Citizen Kane" are better than it. I agree that "The Godfather" is one of the greatest and the best mafia movie ever created!

Summary: Simply one of the greatest films of all time
Review: There is not much to say about this movie except that it is pure genius, every single moment of it. It more than lives up to all the praise it has gotten over the years.

Summary: Perhaps the Greatest Film Ever Made
Review: The Godfather is truly an experience to remember. From beginning to end, the acting is exceptional, the script is near-flawless, and the film does something that many classics overlook: it is exciting. It is easier to critique a film that has flaws than one that is flawless, and that is the problem here. I cannot really give you a critique of the film that would do it justice. You must see this film for yourself. The story, a "king" who is a criminal and a murderer, but is also wise, kind, loyal, and a protector of the weak, and the rebellious son who undergoes a transformation from society's hero into a loyal son who accepts the mantle of his father, is moving. Brando, Pacino, Duvall, Caan...They are all perfectly cast and they all literaly become the characters they portray. The film itself rarely is overly "artsy", but conducts itself with a complexity that is superb in its straight-forward nature. Anyway, I'll stop trying to do the movie justice, because I can't. Let me just say that this film is perhaps the greatest film ever made. See it! Buy it!

Summary: The single greatest film ever made
Review: Francis Ford Coppola's brilliant adaptation of Mario Puzo's gritty crime novel remains as close to cinematic perfection as we will ever see. From the engrossing script to the powerhouse cast, and from the dead-on direction to the beautiful cinematography of the scenes in Sicily, one would find it impossible to find a better film. From the time the opening sequence begins, as the nervous undertaker begs for justice, to the SINGLE GREATEST ENDING IN FILM HISTORY, as Kay finally sees Michael for who he is, no one can tear their eyes from this film.

Summary: A Mean-spirited film
Review: "The Godfather" has an ugly consciousness and a mean spirit. I see no justification for it, thoroughly disliked it, and have tried to forget it.

Summary: Excellent!!
Review: The Godfather is one of the greatest movies I've ever seen in my lifetime, I think everyone who has had the pleasure to view this film feels the same way I do. There are so many classic scenes (horse head in the bed, Sonny's gun-down, when Michael kills the two men in the Italian resteraunt, the baptism, the final-scene etc.). The acting is excellent, Brando is great, but, Al Pacino as Michael grabs the viewer with such a un-nerving intensity that I think he should have recieved Best Actor. I also thought John Cazale as Fredo was a very good, intriguing performace. Diane Keaton and Robert DuVull are also excellent in their supporting roles. In conclusion, this is a unforgetable classic.
